@Thx for this informative post.
Also driving in from Ikeja-Along on agege motor road into thr street directly facing you is one way. No visible except the policemen and Lastma officials that lurk arround to impound your vehicle.

No gentleman O! I had to fight, settle with 2k cos by brother came down to plead and one of them gained entry into the car. Bastards were asking for 20k.

I sincerely cannot guarantee that i will not partake in the beating of a Lastma official. That is how bad i feel.

Even one car lenght into a road and you reverse is claimed to be one way.

@siena
Thanks and welcome back. We all truly missed your contributions.

@Topic
My colleague leaves for the US on the 29th of July for a 3wk course so if convinced will desire to buy the Audi A6 Allroad 2006 model.

REASONS:
1. Dont want to buy an SUV
2. Prefer a sedan with good ground clearance
3. It must not be front wheel
4. Has good engine power for top speed when the need arises

Can one get a model with regular suspension. Since its meant for Lagos/Eastern road trips i dont need it low. Can the suspension be changed in the USA for less than U$2000

If this is done i hope it wont have sensor issues?

I will appreciate your further advice. THANKS

Thanks i have been laughing over this. This location now moves to the top of my MUST VISIT PLACES. I hope i will find a hotel where my room is in Belgium, The diner in Netherlands, The bar in Belgium(Dont want to meet quer people after a few glasses).

But for the Euro one may need dual currencies. Wondering which Visa will be faster for summer. I think i will go with Belgium.

Thanks poster again and lovely pix.
TravelRe: Implications Of Faily Used Baggage For Intl Travel by abiamahart(op): 1:05am On Jul 27, 2012
if you have nothing to hide tag your bags right. For first time travellers do not be in a hurry to please anyone or been a ladies man by carrying another travellers bag.

You risk been an accomplice if there is a questionable content. If you must assist only help pull up a trolley and no more. You are not been rude.

Avoid the help me carry thing we do on local flights in Nigeria it is a different ball game for international gateways then you are looking at a border agent looking for a reason to turn you arround or 'I got one'

Be mindful of your courtsey. On the plane yes Chit-Chat but with immigration you are on your own.

Hope this helps

That is another thing i dont do. Sometime ago my cousin rightly refused to carry honey from Nsukka in a big jar to her new friend in Canada. The guy that brought it refused to open the bottle and adviced her against it considering possible quarantine issues at entry or concealled prohibited pills.

Since her friend is visiting Nigeria in two months time she can carry it herself.

The deal maybe similar to COJA All Africa Games where the cars are imported duty free. Some lease arrangement and cars are sold by the Company later.

The fleece here will be if the above is arrainged and they still go ahead to pay 100% for it. If this is verifiable it becomes a case for Money Laundering

I FELT I SHOULD DRAW ATTENTION TO INTL TRAVELERS FROM NIGERIA WHO MAY WANT TO PURCHASE FAIRLY USED BAGS FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL MAY WANT TO CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING?

1. YOU MAY NOT KNOW THE ORIGIN OF THE FAIRLY USED BAG BEEN SOLD TO YOU

2. YOU EQUALLY MAY NOT KNOW WHAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER PACKED IN THE BAG

3. THERE IS AN OUTSIDE CHANCE IT MAY HAVE BEEN USED FOR COURING HARD DRUGS OR SUBSTANCES THAT BORDER SECURITY PERSONNEL CAN HAVE CAUSE TO DETAIN YOU POST SCANNING OR DOGGY LUGGAGE SNIFF AT IMMIGRATION CONTROL SHOULD THERE BE TRACES LEFT IN THE BAG

4. IT IS ADVISABLE TO BUY A BRAND NEW BAG SHOULD YOU REQUIRE A BAG FOR ADDITIONAL STUFF YOU ARE TRAVELLING WITH - YOU MIGHT ALSO CARRY THE RECEIPT OF PURCHASE

THIS IS NOT TO CONDEMN THE (OK) BAGS BEEN SOLD LOCALLY IN NIGERIA BUT YOU INNOCENTLY WOULDNT WANT TO BE CAUSE OF YOUR OWN INCACERATION.

IGNORANCE MAY NOT FLY WITH BORDER SECURITY CHAPS - your call-

Is there anything like an ALL IN ONE OBD SCANNER or are they car specific?

Hi HOUSE I AM CONSIDERING BUYING THE AUDI A6 V8 ALLROAD QUATTRO JUST TO COPE WITH GROUND CLEARANCE OFF SPEED BUMPS AND POTHOLES AS EXPERIENCED IN LAGOS.

PLS ADVISE IF THERE ARE ANY ISSUES WITH THE AIR SUSPENSION OF THE 2005 MODEL I SHOULD BE WEARY OF? OR OTHER ISSUES.

Thanks all in advance

i stopped buying foreign shirts since 2001 after meeting the chap that sews shirts and suits too on faulks road in aba.

His works are so good that he has opened three production lines for you guys who buy labels. I sAw dealers from Lagos/Abuja with him recently.

We just hate ourselves or too lazy to acknoledge resourceful people in our mist.

It all depends on your finding a well trained tailor not a glorified Obioma/Sura d Tailor.

I now get quality shirts, suits, boxers and trousers locally.
Pending are Singlets, ties, socks, jeans and shoes. Some sandals today are 60% with room for more improvement.

They stich labels too mine is emmy®

BusinessRe: Soludo Versus Sanusi? Who Is The Better Reformer? by abiamahart: 9:11am On Jul 06, 2012
@Topic
Under Soludo with the exchange rate steady @N119/120 to the dollar our company fared better.

Pricing for our finished goods dependent on imported raw materials kept our sales up and an emerging export opporunity.

We increased personnel by 15% while Income increased by 25%

Today with the exchange rate at N165 we cant cope as corresponding inflation caused us drop in sales. we still cant source materials for production locally.

In all we have closed our PH branch office and laid off 35% of our workforce.

No bias for me i go for the Soludo tenure.

Used to join the ferry with my Dad then from Queens drive to CMS then join the wooden bedford bus(Conductor has to wind it in front to start) to Holy Cross b/stop by my school.

You now buy half kobo bread and half kobo butter or

1 kobo bread with half kobo beans and half kobo meat hurriedly eaten outside the school gate before assembly.

Also school gives you free fruits at 9am play time and lunch also comes with fruits standard.

Back then Pry 1-3 used to close by 12noon while Pry 4-6 close by 5pm but i didnt meet it in Pry 3 felt cheated.

We had one Bolaji with the best hand writing for 5years. Wow those were fun times not to forget BATA - B ;Dack to school.

Where is Isiaka today Omo baba-eleran. This dude comes to school regularly with fried meat on fridays and Muslim festivals but dropped out in Pry 3. Boldly told the class teacher he couldnt cope and withdrew.

Now i wonder if it was the student or the fried meats our class teacher missed then.

Nice one. Brought back some good memories.
GOD BLESS ALL MY TEACHERS!!!!!!!!! back then and for the ones that are late RIP.

Noteworthy are;
Mr. Dawodu who taught us Arithmetics (LACOMBS)? Made us memorize most of what was at the back of this exercise book.

It was pain then but today i see the need for a good foundation.

Mrs. Ogbogu who brought out the best in me. Mummy wherever you are may God Almighty continue to bless you, and your family.

Again i am trying to reach my teachers in HOLY CROSS PRIMARY SCHOOL-1 Lagos. Most will be elderly now with probably no existing pension.

Given your claim that your phone was stolen and d guy is not willing to return it or give details about where he purchased it makes him the thief or an accessory to the theft.

Your best option might be to dissable the phone permanently. Buying used phones from unregistered outlets or someone other than the owner encourages petty theft which graduates later to Armed Robbery.

Not comparable to billions or dollars though!

i advise you all visit there help center.
On the 27th of May 2012 i loaded there N100 10MB/Day internet bundle without been connected to the internet immediately i got a txt from 131 saying my plan was exhausted. Since it was N100 i let go.

Now June 23rd a repeat this time N1000 for 100MB/month after 5.96Mb they said my plan was exhausted. I refused to load another credit and visited there call center twice were it showed on their system that really i didnt use the service and issue was referred to their billing unit.

Third. day it was resolved and i got my credit back which i am using now. MTN almost ripped me off N1000. Imagine others who may not have the opportunity for redress.

Hmmmmm! So much awoof for them. Dem don use suscribers pay their fine to NCC be dat.

I am not surprissed in anyway. Even the analysis of the ill fated Concorde crash's blackbox didnt take that long.

No wonder reports of previous crashes are yet to be made public.

Our authorities need to know that the essence of crash investigations is to have lessons learnt and aide future improvements in equipment, safety procedures, disaster management etc

Clearly we've not heard the last of this crash.

it was one flight too many and one day too long.
