Dopefiend: Question for the gods. The question is a general one. If you know, answer. If you don't, just pass.
why are some people so daft like this ? I only asked if he is the host and the response I was expecting was "Yes he is , no he is not" . what has brought this question for the gods or whatever.

sisiafrika: guess ur sorry asss was dumped from a pharmacy school for failing repeatedly. Keep hating but that pharmacist u see next to u is a million times better than u. Take it or leave it. Assholeeee
Fortunately, I don't insult people because I think this kind of comment is being made by callows.

You never knew who I was & you are ranting of being failed or whatever, to make it known to you ; I'm an Architect.

Sharing my thought & opinion doesn't mean I hate the Pharmacists but I guess you are somehow related to one , if not you for you to have written all these out of annoyance I believe.

Calm your nerves a wee bit, The fact & the truth hurts a lot.

Kossyne: My thoughts exactly!!!..what of the Bio-chemists and Micro-Biologists, the lab scientists etc. Our education system train students to be job seekers.

But come to think of it, enough finger-pointing and blame games. We ve had enough that will last us a life time. This issue of Ebola is a national concern meaning it affects all and sundry, therefore it calls for combined effort from everybody.

We might not be lab scientists but there are little things we can do:

#1. We can organize sensitization programs and campaigns in our local churches, mosques, communities, campuses etc and educate people on the dangers of the virus and safety measures to be taken to limit the spread of the virus.

#2. Avoid use of public convienience.

#3. Washing of hands thoroughly with soap at regular intervals.etc

Pointing fingers will not solve our problem. Ebola virus is a reality and it is in Nigeria.Let's be PRACTICAL.
Cheii... I pity Nigeria ;(

NewNigeriaMind: YES they know it and that is why the best brain in Nigeria and Africa are being offered special Visas by the western world and our people cannot resist because at least they are appreciated over there and they will be funded to put to ingenuity to work. Note the very serum Nigeria is begging for could have been the invention of a black African.
who am I to question bathe truth ? You've said it all bro!!

QUESTION FOR THE gods!!
Health › Re: Ebola: Nigeria Reaches Out To U.S. For Experimental Drug; NMA Sets Up Committee by Abimloaded(m): 3:18pm On Aug 06, 2014
NewNigeriaMind: YES!!!

Most researches are government funded as a result of the huge cost of research.

Followed by pharmaceutical companies( note that the driving force is profit)

followed by concerned rich individuals (as charity of something they hold close to heart, like something that killed a family member)

But the major financier of most researches and medical expedition is the government as public good through it higher institutes of learning through major research grants and setting up research facilities.

Now ask yourself, how much has the Nigerian government spent on any research since independence and note we have willing Nigerians with brains and interest to do these researches but no funds.

Heck!!! this is one of the demands of ASUU
The pharmacists should know this.

Nigerian government is poo!
Health › Re: Ebola: Nigeria Reaches Out To U.S. For Experimental Drug; NMA Sets Up Committee by Abimloaded(m): 3:11pm On Aug 06, 2014
rickkid: Actually, yes pretty much. A few are funded by pharmaceutical companies but more are funded by research grants given to universities and research centres.
But the structure of the Nigerian govt right from military days is to spend money on ceremony, frippery, bloated salaries and other non-capital expenditure and then spend more money to import the things we have failed to produce.
Which is why when one man is trying to do things differently and then some group of 1diots calling themselves "progressives" start marketing Bu-fukin-hari for President, I wonder if we ever want to make progress as a country.
Hmmm... now I understand you but nevertheless our pharmacists should be able to do something things without the aid of the self known only government.

Obum4ever: Gentleman we are not depending on the west,... Whenever there is an outbreak of disease anywhere in this world all human race puts hands together to combat it, it's not a matter of dependency.... If they have a serum that treats it then I see no reason why we shouldn't reach out to them....
Must we always ?

Can't we just produce ours ?

these are my questions!
Health › Re: Ebola: Nigeria Reaches Out To U.S. For Experimental Drug; NMA Sets Up Committee by Abimloaded(m): 3:01pm On Aug 06, 2014
NewNigeriaMind: Nothing the pharmacy graduate can do.......

Research is a different ball game and it cost millions and billions of dollars.

Blame your government for spending more on amnesty than on education and research.
What about those foreigners we are depending on ? their government sponsored them all ?
Health › Re: Ebola: Nigeria Reaches Out To U.S. For Experimental Drug; NMA Sets Up Committee by Abimloaded(m): 2:43pm On Aug 06, 2014
Where are the Nigerian PHARMACY Graduates ?

What's the essence of studying Pharmacy if they can't make research to cure for some ailments ?

Must we depend on the foreigners before we can have the cure for ailments ?

What are the Pharmacists into ?

We are only an Independent Country on paper but when it comes to finding a solution to any problem we are facing we are DEPENDENT on the foreign countries.

Boko Haram, we seeked for International help when the Chibok girls were abducted & here we are again seeking for help from the United States.

Its high time we stopped this dependence & prove the useless Independence we claim we have obtained since 1960!!
