The Nigerian screen star said she’s is not so happy that no African movie made it to the 2019 Oscars nomination list.

Omotola, who was enlisted into the voting membership of the Oscar Awards in 2018, made the disclosure in an Instagram post where she conveyed her thoughts on the nominated movies.

Although she expressed her happiness on the fact that a great deal of the movies she voted were picked, the actor was more concerned that no African movie made it to the list.

Human rights attorney, Femi Falana, says it is “unfortunate that the Bar and the Bench have played into the hands of the sponsors of incipient fascism” in Nigeria in reaction to the suspension of Walter Onnoghen as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
Ojikutu News had reported earlier that President Muhammadu Buhari suspended Onnoghen on Friday and immediately appointed Tanko Mohammed as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.
Giving reasons for his decision in his speech which was obtained by Naija News, the President said there was an order from the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, asking him to wield the big stick.
President Buhari said the order demanded that the CJN be suspended depending on the determination of his ongoing trial at the tribunal.
Apparently displeased with the development, Falana lamented that it is intriguing that the 12 lawyers in Buhari’s cabinet (Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo inclusive) did not dissuade Buhari from carrying out the “illegal suspension.”
His words: “In line with decided judicial authorities I had wanted the National Judicial Council to investigate the allegations,” Falana said.
“Unfortunately, the 88th statutory meeting of the National Judicial Council scheduled to hold on January 15, 2019, which could have deliberated on the matter and take an informed position was postponed indefinitely on the directive of the embattled chief justice.
“Thus, at the 15th annual Gani Fawehinmi lecture which held in Lagos on January 15 2019, I was compelled to warn against the dangerous trend. Regrettably, the warning fell on deaf ears. Curiously, in an act of brazen impunity, the Executive procured an ex parte order from the Code of Conduct Tribunal for the immediate suspension of the Chief Justice from office.

The Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) has said that 1.6 million Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been collected by eligible voters in Adamawa.

Mr Kasim Gaidam, Adamawa INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Yola that the PVCs collected were out of the 1.973,882 issued so far for the state residents.

Gaidam said that the commission would need no fewer than 18,000 ad-hoc staff and about 11,000 security personnel for the conduct of the general elections.

“We have 1.973,882 million tentative registered voters in the state, and so far 1.6 million PVCs have been collected,” gaidam said.

He expressed satisfaction at the turnout of the people for collection of their PVCs across the state.

The conditions precedent to drawdown includes provision of post-dated cheques that cover the entire duration of the tenure of the loan, presentation of a reputable guarantor, execution of guarantor‘s form and statement of personal net worth form by the guarantor, provision of proforma invoice (for automobile loan), equity contribution (for automobile loan, personal home loan and joint mortgage), presentation of statement of account and execution of statement of personal net worth form by the customer.
5. Once you have met all the conditions precedent to drawdown, all the documents will be sent to First Bank’s compliance department, then the department will approve and book the loan.
2 – Diamond Bank Plc
Diamond Bank Plc offers entrepreneurs an opportunity to obtain loans without securing the loan against collateral. The non-collateral loans are designed to stimulate growth for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
