PoliticsBuhari Reveals Secret Intention: I Have No Problem With Muslim-muslim Ticket by aboy247(op): 2:09pm On Oct 26, 2014
Major General Muhammadu Buhari, a former Head of State, has cleared the air about rumors that he intends to pick a Muslim as his running mate if he gets the presidential nomination of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He stated that is open to such option. However, the issue of Muslim-Muslim ticket is seen by many as a move that will allegedly set the party back in the upcoming 2015 presidential election because of the importance attached to religion in a country like Nigeria.

Buhari, is generally seen in the south as a muslim extremist and his likely combination with another Muslim for the presidential election is considered in some quarters a political catastrophy.

But, in an interview with TheCable, Buhari debunked the widespread belief that he fundamentalist. He said: “Nigerians will always uncover impossible room for manoeuvre for politicians. I had to face one of the governors during one of our party’s meetings [over the issue of religion].

Foreign AffairsMan 'Molested By Priest 65 Years Ago' by aboy247(op): 10:16pm On Oct 25, 2014
A 72-year-old man has described being raped in a boys' home 65 years ago by a priest who told him if he did not obey him he would "not go to heaven".

Eddie Murphy is the third man to tell the BBC about abuse carried out by Fr Wilfred Johnson at the St Francis Boys' Home in Shefford, Bedfordshire.

He attended the home, which closed in 1974, in the late 1940s to early 1950s.
Fr Johnson, who ran the home from 1945 to 1954, died in 1994. Police are investigating abuse allegations.

Mr Murphy has waived his right to automatic anonymity in order to speak out about the alleged abuse.

"It was a terrible experience. I was molested again and again by Fr Johnson," he said.

"Johnson would tie me to the bed in the bedroom. He raped me a couple of times. I was so terrified. I could not tell my family.

"At one time I told a local bobby. He was not interested. He thought I was a child telling lies.

"The priest used to tell me that if I did not do things I would not go to heaven."

Politics2015 Election: Why FCT Minister Bala Abandoned Guber Ambition by aboy247(op): 10:37am On Oct 19, 2014
It was with considerable joy and a huge sense of relief that Nigerians, especially indigenes, residents and other relevant stakeholders in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) received the news of Sen. Bala Mohammed’s decision to subordinate his narrow personal interest to that of the larger national interest by dropping his much speculated gubernatorial ambition.

In all ramifications, Bala, the incumbent minister of FCT, is eminently qualified to vie for the governorship seat of his home state of Bauchi. As a matter of fact, of all the aspirants vying for that seat, Bala stands pole over all other aspirants. That he finally decided to hearken to the voice of reason to forgo his ambition is an attestation to his great leadership qualities as a listening and humble leader.
