Wisdom is the principal thing. Thank you for this contribution

I'm afraid I differ from you op.

Your post reeks of serious inferiority complex. Rent a room instead of accepting a house gift from an in-law? Don't you know that it may be God's way of opening doors for you?

I learnt that Coscharis married the daughter of a rich man. They helped him establish and today he's far richer than they ever were.

Bring those shoulders down otherwise life will bring them down for you. I have an in-law who started with this pompous rigid attitude. By the time he lost his job and couldn't pick his bills, the wife's family he had been snubbing were the only ones there for him.

Why demonize the people who want only the best for you and their daughter and grandchildren?

Why will you arrogantly refuse financial assistance and run yourself into debt? Who needs a N50 gift from a struggling in-law?

Those relatives you are shooing off your house like pieces of rags may be the ones available to your wife and children if she gets widowed.

Other readers should take your advice at their peril.

you are very correct. Sometimes it's difficult for the women to understand because the same way you cherish your parents is also the same way they do theirs. The solution is to always Respect your in-laws but make their boundaries very clear to them. May God help us .
There have always been serious issues between myself and my wife over families.

We have a policy in my family, which is to always respect privacy. We visit only when necessary and call/Text most times. My wife and her family on the other hand, they love to visit and like to even stay overnight. Because of my almost zero tolerance for this, we always have issues and she thinks I hate her people.

Last December, I had to ship her out to UAE for Christmas, when I heard she planned having her siblings come in from 24th December, till 2nd January, 2018.

Its always a battle, which she doesn't want to understand, that relatives she not pass their boundaries, since we too are a couple with kids and need to face our lives.

Sometimes, they just pump in without notifying me the head of the house. As usual, I get reactive, but as the Yoruba's would say, its 'Îsó léñû. But its the duty of our wives to always understand what husbands want as the head after God. The parents of the wife have done the handing over and the man is now in charge

Boundaries just need to be set in every family.

Car Talk / Re: Lagos Danfo Buses Now Use Gas Instead Of Petrol - Photos by abrahujaa(m): 12:08pm On May 02, 2018
nosiebaba:
Let me enlighten people about this. The gas in use is called compressed natural gas. CNG. It is not lpg, lpg liquified natural gas is the common butane gas used for cooking and its in liquid form. Cng is dry gas with moisture content at all.
Natural gas is what turbines used in generating electricity both PHCN gencos, redemption camp winners canaanland etc.. It is the cleanest fossil fuel on earth this gas is very very safe and there is no hazard of explosion like many of you think. The cylinders you see are extremely thicker than your normal cooking gas cylinders. About 20 mm thick. Even if cases of a very fatal accident, there is no damage to the cylinder. IN Nigeria Nipco and green gas started converting vehicles to run on both natural gas or petrol depending on which on which one is availabe. There ia a button to switch to either petrol or gas. The project started in benin and more than 4000 vehicles run on natural gas in nigeria( Benin and lagos) even some brt buses and they have been running for over 7 years in nigeria alone.
Please do some research developed countries have most of their vehicles, buses and metro trains running on natural gas.
All the trucks i. This picture runs on natural gas
Pls send questions i would reply them to give more clarity.

Please how much will it cost to install this natural gas. Kindly send me an email using my signature. Thanks

Family / Re: 17.2% Of My Monthly Salary Goes To My Wife & Yet... by abrahujaa(m): 2:34pm On Mar 24, 2017
I advice you sit her down and find out why she did that .
But subsequently you need to set up a business for her so she can better understand the value of Money.
In the interim, you will suspend her monthly 17.2% at least for a month as punishment .She has to understand that marriage should not involve Cheating .it's a partnership thing . On the other hand you need to check yourself as the man of the house ,perhaps you are forcing her indirectly to follow a particular course

VicWonder:
I thought I'd hold this back for the successful awardees but its occurred to me those wanting to start in September may not have enough time.

Please for intending UK scholars please read the visa application requirements:
https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa/overview

and visa application guide:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-application-for-uk-visa-as-tier-4-student

In summary you need 40 points to qualify:
30 points for CAS and 10 for available funds.

To get CAS you need an unconditional offer and pay a deposit of your fees. Most schools will even ask for evidence of funds before they issue CAS 'cos they don't want to have you rejected by UKVI as it will stain their reputation and can cause UKVI to issue them a warning.

For PhD you need ATAS, before applying for visa. It takes 20 working days to be issued, there's no express service.

Tier 4 applicants need tuberculosis test (few exceptions for those who have lived in a first world country for more than 2 years and have not spent more than 6 months in Nigeria on return). As at January, only 2 hospitals in Nigeria are allowed to conduct the test; 1 in Lagos the other in Abuja and I guess it cost around 100k.

All visa applicants need to pay immigration health care surcharge - IHS (£150 per calendar year of visa) before even applying for visa. MSc candidates will likely be offered 16 months visa so you IHS will be £150 + £75 = £225 (payable by credit card). PhD candidate may be issued 4 years visa and IHS will be around £675.

Available funds: please see my previous post (full tuition for 1 year + 9 months living expense which is £9,135 or around £11,500 for London scholars).

English language: I think WAEC is acceptable, again your school will confirm this before issuing you CAS. Otherwise you may need IELTS or you must have completed a degree in a majority English speaking country - Nigeria is not one according to UKVI).

I think that's it, but it takes a long time to get all this sorted (around 2-3 months).

Visa application fee is £328 and processing time is 3 weeks (1 week for priority service but you pay extra £150).

I hope this helps anyone! Start planning now if you're bent on a September start regardless of NDDC award.

@vicwonder. Please if granted the scholarship, will nddc pay for d visa application and immigration and health insurance

I have about 6 different workforce ability test versions in my computer here and they are all divided into 4 different sections, verbal, logical, abstract and numerical.
The numerical section contains more of sales questions involving tables that you are then asked questions based on.
What were your own sales questions like?
