Nigeria’s new Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, has vowed that under his command, Boko Haram would either beg for a cease-fire or face the wrath of highly motivated and combat ready soldiers.

The Borno State-born Major General, who took over command of the nation’s army last week, said he was ready to lead soldiers to the dens and enclaves of the insurgents.
He has therefore re-christened the operational code of the counter insurgency efforts from “Operation Zaman Lafiya” to “Operation Zaman Lafiya Dole” – which in Hausa means ‘the quest for peace becomes a must’.

Buratai, who was in Yobe State to celebrate the Islamic Eid-el-fitri festival with Nigerian troops, moved to Borno on Sunday afternoon. He arrived Maiduguri by road and was received by the Borno State Deputy Governor, Zannah Mustapha, who immediately accompanied the army boss to visit the 103 Battalion of the 7 Division, Maiduguri in Konduga Town where they hailed the troops gallantry.

While narrating her experiences and how her life has changed for the better, Mr Agbaje actually shed tears of joy. He said if every one can reach out to the less privileged then Nigeria will be a better(...)

PoliticsFull Text Of What Obama And Buhari Said When They Met Today by AbuadStudent(op): 11:15pm On Jul 20, 2015
https://i0.wp.com/naijafire.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/228762cf79_mail-google-com.jpg?w=700

Below is what President Obama said to President Buhari and his entourage…
Well, it’s a great pleasure to welcome President Buhari and his delegation here to the Oval Office for his first visit since the historic election that took place. Nigeria is obviously one of the important countries in the world and one of the most important countries in the African continent. Recently, we saw an election in which a peaceful transition to a new government took place.
And it was an affirmation of Nigeria’s commitment to democracy, a recognition that although Nigeria is a big country and a diverse country with many different parts, nevertheless the people of Nigeria understand that only through a peaceful political process can change take place.
President Buhari comes into office with a reputation for integrity and a very clear agenda, and that is to make sure that he is bringing safety and security and peace to his country.
He’s very concerned about the spread of Boko Haram and the violence that’s taken place there, and the atrocities that they’ve carried out, and has a very clear agenda in defeating Boko Haram and extremists of all sorts inside of his country. And he has a very clear agenda with respect to rooting out the corruption that too often has held back the economic growth and prosperity of his country.
On both these issues, we’re looking forward to hearing more about his plans and how the United States can partner with Nigeria so that Nigeria ends up being an anchor not only of prosperity and stability in the eastern part of the continent, but can also be an outstanding role model for developing countries around the world.
And we very much look forward to talking about security issues, how we can cooperate on counterterrorism. We’re looking forward to discussing how we can be helpful in addressing some of the corruption issues that have held Nigeria back, and unleashing the incredible talent of the Nigerian people. We all recognize that some of the best businesspeople in the world are from Nigeria, and they thrive as they travel to other countries, but we want to make sure that they’re also helping folks thrive in Nigeria.
We’re also going to have an opportunity to talk about some of the other areas where Nigeria has taken leadership — in public health issues, fighting tragedies like Ebola. Nigeria has an outstanding track record working with us to eradicate polio, and that gives us a framework and a template to continue to work on public health issues throughout the western part of Africa, as well as throughout the subcontinent.
We’ll have a chance to talk about issues of climate change, electrification. As many of you know, Power Africa is one of our top priorities, making sure that we’re electrifying the continent so that it can grow faster and more people have access to the power that they need.
So we’ve got a busy agenda, but I want to emphasize how much I appreciate President Buhari’s work so far. I’m looking forward to seeing him put together his team so that we can do everything that we can to help him succeed and help the people of Nigeria succeed. Because if they’re successful and doing well, that will have a ripple effect not only in West Africa, but throughout the world.
So thank you very much.

What President Buhari said
Nigeria will remain ever grateful to President Obama and the United States for making Nigeria to consolidate its gains on a democratic system. The visit of the Secretary of State, when he visited Nigeria to see the President and the whole government of Nigeria, see the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission for Nigeria, and saw the operation was very clear and a positive trend that saw us through for this credible election we had.
And the maintenance of pressure by the United States, mainly, and Europe, to make sure that the elections were free, fair and credible led us to where we are now. It would have been almost impossible if the United States did not maintain the pressure on the former Nigerian government, but they would not accept anything less constitutional as far as the processes of the election are concerned. We will ever remain grateful to you because there are fundamental objectives that are identify all of Nigeria’s people’s Congress — security, economy, employment especially of youth, and then fighting corruption.
We are extremely happy that the United States had made it absolutely clear before the election that they are prepared to help Nigeria in this aspect. And this is why I am here, and I am very grateful for the invitation Mr. President extended to me.
Thank you very much, Mr. President.

RomanceHELP! My Husband Is Not Doing Me Well In Terms Of S*x by AbuadStudent(op): 10:45pm On Jul 19, 2015
https://i1.wp.com/naijafire.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/8242de3088_LOVE.jpg?w=700
I’m in my mid-thirties, married with four children. My husband and I have been married for 10 years and he’s had affairs with another lady, or maybe ladies, in that time. The first was while I was pregnant with our first child and others followed after this.

I always forgive his affairs because I love him so much. He says he loves me and I know he is not lying, he wants the family to stay together and he is doing his best to take care of us.

But he has confessed to me that since I gave birth, he no longer finds me attractive.
Do you think I can rekindle our s*x life? Do you see hope for this marriage?
– A troubled wife sent this to Aunty Bunmi. Read her response to her below:
Two people, who are in a life-long commitment, always find ways to protect their relationship. By having affairs, however, your husband is taking huge risks with your marriage. He’s also under the disillusionment that some men experience as their image of their wife dwindles when she starts having children.
Unfortunately, couples who fail to adjust as their bodies change find themselves coping with loss of s*xual interest, infidelity, and may lead to more troubles.

You need to share your fears and anxiety with your husband but do so with respect because your man is your head, don’t mind what some people say out there.

He should realise that he too has changed physically and you both must work out ways to put the passion back into your marriage, wear things he likes and tell him you are ready to change to satisfy him and both of you work for the protection of your marriage.

Celebrities“fans Mi’ Video Was Promoting Yam Flour”davido’s Manager Kamal Responds To NDLEA by AbuadStudent(op): 11:10pm On Jul 18, 2015

Last week, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) was reported to be investigating 22-year old HKN Boss Davido Adeleke for allegedly promoting hard drugs in his video featuring Meek Mill ‘Fans Mi’.

Davido’s manager, Kamal Ajiboye, has come out to talk on the viral drug trafficking allegations on OBO.

Kamal claimed the idea of what looks like hard drugs is just to promote yam flour business as a source of making funds rather than venturing into hard drugs biz.

Read his explanation below.

‘The story is basically to dissuade people from trafficking in hard drugs. The purpose of the video is to let the audience know that since some people are making money from hard drugs, they can also make a lot of money by selling yam flour. The yam flour was well projected in the video.

It was finally prepared as a meal of pounded yam to be eaten with vegetable soup in one of the scenes in the same video,’

He concluded that bad belle’s just want to create an unnecessary controversy around the video and Davido’s personality and his just amazed why anyone would want to tarnish Davido’s name in relation to hard drugs.

Do you think this Is a good explanation?

PoliticsBuckinghampalace Reacts To Image Of Young Queen Elizabethii Giving A Nazi Salute by AbuadStudent(op): 10:08pm On Jul 18, 2015

British Tabloid newspaper today Saturday July 18th published images showing a then six year-old Queen Elizabeth II giving a Nazi salute in the early 1930s. She was with her 3-year-old sister Princess Margaret and her uncle, who would later be crowned Edward VIII. The dramatic headline on the story read; Their Royal Heilnesses – a reference to the ‘Heil Hitler’ greeting used in Nazi Germany

Buckingham Palace released a statement through a spokesman saying “It is disappointing that film shot eight decades ago and apparently from HM’s (her majesty’s) personal family archive has been obtained and exploited in this manner.”

The Sun also published a separate explanation of why it decided to run the footage, saying the images must be seen in their historical context.
“These images have lain hidden for 82 years. We publish them today, knowing they do not reflect badly on our Queen, her late sister or mother in any way.
“They do, however, provide a fascinating insight into the warped prejudices of Edward VIII and his friends in that bleak, paranoid, tumultuous decade.”
Elizabeth ascended to the throne in 1952 following the death of her father…

Potential Nigerian students who want to school in the United Kingdom (UK) will be denied the opportunity to work while in the country.

A new rule proposed by the British government is aimed at denying non-EU residents the right to work while in the UK even as they will will also not be able to apply for a visa extension when their course comes to an end.

The rule also states that students will have to leave the UK before applying to return under a work visa, Daily Mail UK reports.

The length of stay is also expected to be maximum of two years when the plans come on stream later this week.

Britain’s Immigration Minister, James Brokenshire said the rule was “part of our plan to control immigration for the benefit of Britain’”

“Immigration offenders want to sell illegal access to the UK jobs market and there are plenty of people willing to buy.
‘Hard-working taxpayers who are helping to pay for publicly funded colleges expect them to be providing top class education, not a back door to a British work visa,” he concluded.

But the government seem hell-bent on going ahead with its plans. According to them, they want to stop student visas being used as an easy way to enter the

Fidelis Ojumah: “Salary to presidency has never been the case. Look if u want to show ur good leadership, forfeit ur travel allowances and leave on ur salaries. How much is the salary? The real case is allowances.”

PoliticsOhaneze Ndigbo Accuses Tinubu Behind Plot To Remove Ekweremadu - Naijafire.com by AbuadStudent(op): 7:40am On Jul 11, 2015
The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Ohanaeze Youth Council, has said that the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is behind the plot to remove Ike Ekweremadu as the deputy senate president.
In a statement issued in Umuahia, the OYC National President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, asked Tinubu and other “anti- Igbo forces in APC” to retrace their steps or face the wrath of Igbo youths.
Isiguzoro said the plot to remove Ekweremadu was an affront on the Igbo nation which would not be tolerated.
He said,
“Being fully aware that the present plot is being orchestrated by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, we ask him to re-trace his steps forthwith or we shall declare him an enemy of Ndigbo.”

Isiguzoro, urged President Buhari to caution Tinubu and other anti-Ekweremadu forces.

He said,
“We are aware that Buhari is under intense pressure to endorse the ‘Ekweremadu must go plot.’ This is the time for the President to prove that he belongs to nobody, Tinubu inclusive, but that he belongs to everybody, Ndigbo inclusive.”

Another Igbo group, Izu-Umunna Cultural Association, also asked the APC to accept the election of Ekweremadu as the deputy senate president as the will of God.

In a statement signed by its President, Dr. Ugo Ihekuna, and Secretary-General, Chief Elvis Chukwu, the association attributed the crisis in the senate to the handiwork of politicians who wanted things to always go their own way.

CrimeHow My Friend Sold Me To Ritualists For N150,000 - Naijafire.com by AbuadStudent(op): 8:24pm On Jul 10, 2015
Having too many friends sometimes leads to too many wahala. Hearing the story of kidnapped people for ritual purposes or for a ransom is disturbing and with dangerous elements that carry out these dastardly acts roaming freely amongst us, everyone is at risk.

Here is the story of a young man, Timothy Lawani, 25, a trader at Suleja roundabout area in Abuja, who was kidnapped for ritual purpose but survived the ordeal.
Lawani, in an interview with LEADERSHIP’s Timothy Opaluwa, said it was God that saved him after he was kidnapped, tied up and was to be sacrificed in Kano.

“We reported the case at A division Police Station in Suleja, but the Policemen demanded the sum of N70,000 in order to start investigation. Since we do not have such amount, we resorted to prayers, and God answered us.”

The incident happened at about 4am on January 14, 2015. Lawani went outside his family house at Old Barracks, Suleja to ease himself, when suddenly he heard someone call his name. Walking towards a red Volkswagen Golf parked behind his house, he was surprised to see an old friend, Friday, comfortably seated in the car beckoning on him with two hefty men.
Narrating his story, Lawani said, “In my confused state, I greeted them. One of them held me and the other sprayed a powder on my face. That was the last thing I could remember. I later saw myself in a very large hall with other young men who were tied up. The kidnappers kept bringing other people to join us. Sometimes, they even offered us food to eat which we all refused. They then said, whether we ate or not, we would die after all.

“After two days, we were made to put on white apparels and join a queue. I noticed that anyone who goes out never comes back; I was so scared. When it was my turn, I went outside, saw a large pool of water like swimming pool and a man standing by the side chanting incantations. He later ordered the guards to take me inside that they were not in need of someone like me.”

Continuing, Lawani said, “In my presence, the man called on Friday who came about 40 minutes later. After telling him that I was not acceptable for their rituals, Friday started flogging me mercilessly. He then ordered the men to take me out, but not before the ritualist got angry, and ordered the hefty men to bring Friday for sacrifice in my place. I heard him beg them to give him just 30 minutes to enable him bring another person, but the man said there was no time.

“With Friday’s hands and legs tied, the man began chanting incantations again. This time, I saw crocodiles coming out of the water. Friday was then thrown inside, the reptiles feasted on him. I was not myself because of the sight of blood and how such large reptiles ate up a whole human being. The man later ordered the men to throw me out, that I was useless to them. They sprayed a powder on my face again and I became unconscious.’’

On how he got back to his senses, Lawani recalled that he was sheltered by a Hausa man who saw him wandering in Gomoja area of Kano State.

After prayers were offered for him for about three days, he regained consciousness but could not speak. It was then he wrote down his father’s phone number which he easily remembered and with which they used to reach his family, that had been searching frantically for him.

His elder brother, Theophilus Lawani, said it was his friend who sold him to the k

PoliticsWe Warned Tinubu That ‘northern Allies’ Will Betray Him —FFK by AbuadStudent(op): 1:57pm On Jul 10, 2015
Controversial Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has claimed that APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was warned that ‘northern allies in APC’ will betray him but he didn’t listen.
“Another is the destruction and demystification of Bola Tinubu and his Yoruba loyalists by his erstwhile northern allies in the APC. Only a fool did not see that one coming and I am rather surprised that Tinubu’s followers are now crying foul and alleging that there is a northern conspiracy.
Didnt they know that before? Were they not warned over and over again?”

Fani-Kayode posted on his Facebook account.
There are rumours that efforts are on top gear by some forces in the party to demystify the perceived growing influence of Tinubu, who was instrumental to the formation of APC and also led the campaign of the first president to be produced by the party, Muhammadu Buhari.

Fani-Kayode also warned that “there are many other grave consequences which the Nigerian people will witness, in a most harrowing and frightful manner, in the next few months and years. May God deliver our people and our nation and may we learn to make the right choices.”
