A christian wife is exempted from zakatul fitr likewise will she inherit you

Note: One measure in arabic means Sa'a and it is equivalent to 3 kilograms approximately, or you use your hand i.e both handful in the three places equals to one measure which is equivalent to 3 kilo approx, one measure or sa'a is for a single person.


Zakatul fitr effaces or correct the little mistake you made in ramadan. Some scholars believe that your fasting is between heaven and earth and it is until you give zakat that it will reach God, Question : must the poor steal to do zakatul fitr ? If thats the case then what the poor get from zakatul fitr he will give it out to another poor and it becomes pass it to me, this is not true, there is no authentic hadith backing their saying. A destitute is exempted from zakatul fitr.

From Abu sa'id Al khudri,

'in the life of Allah's Apostle (P.B.U.H) we used to give one measure of food as zakatul fitr (to the poor). Our food used to be either barley, raisins (dried grapes), cottage cheese or dates.

Sahih bukhari, hadith number 745

It is forbiden to fast on Eid day: so when you hear the crescent is sighted do not fast and if you have fasted then break it


Narrated Abu Ubaid, the freed slave of ibn Azhar, said,'i offered the eid prayer with umar ibn Al khattab and he came out to an open place and prayed. When he had finished he spoke to the people saying,'The Messenger of GOD (Peace be upon him) has forbidden fasting on two days, that is the feast of al fitr (Eidil fitr) and the other feast when you eat your sacrificial animals (Eidil kabir)'

The error of fasting on Eidil day: when the crescent is sighted do not fast.

'It was related that Nubaisha al Hudhali said that the messenger of God said,'The three days after the day of sacrifice are days for eating and drinking'

It was related that ibn umar said that the Prophet (P.B.U.H) said,'We are an illiterate nation, we cannot write or count, the month (of ramadan) is so and so,' he meant alternately twenty nine days and thirty days'

some mosques on friday jumah declared sunday as the Eidil fitr day and vow no going back. This is unislamical and unguided. Many imam have told their people that they must celebrate Eid fitr on sunday. Which is contrary to the teaching of our Prophet (Peace be upon him): Ramadan will only end when the crescent is sighted or is up to 30.



Narrated ibn umar
'i heard the messenger of God (PBUH) say,'when you see the crescent, begin fasting, and when you see the crescent again, stop fasting, and if the sky is overcast then complete the month of ramadan to thirty days'

Note: Date and barley was what the arab eat most at the time of the Prophet, you are going to give what you eat most, e.g if you are a nigerian and what you eat most is Rice or Garri then rice or Garri will be your zakatul fitr
