You won't understand bro. I perform marvelously well during any interview. There is an oil company I went, the manager was afraid to ask me question after hearing my degree. She told the assistant to ask me but the assistant manager was scared and told the manager that she can't.

So forget it bro.
Education / Re: Does First Class Degree Guarantee One A Job? by Abyima(m): 4:05pm On May 10, 2020
That was then and not now in Nigeria. Not only first class students this days but 2:1 find it difficult to get a job in Nigeria. Even Lecturing job in Universities for students with first class is man no man.

Back then, If one graduates with first class, on the day you convoke, u get automatic employment. Different companies, e.t.c will be there just to give you a job. But not now.

I am a first class student who graduated in 2018. When i was looking for a job, it was difficult for different company to take me. Any company i entered, after hearing my degree, they will be afraid to ask me a question. Some will say they will get back to me. I waited and no way. But there were some company that were happy and told me to give them my certificate.

Managers who has 2:1 will be afraid to employ a first class student. They don't want first class student to outsmart them.

So, it is good for first class student not to get carried away with their degree. They should not depend on their degree. They should learn skills so as to benefit from it. First class are meant to create jobs for people. But many of them lack this knowledge but get blindfolded with their degree.

For me, I have thrown my certificate one corner. I am happy i got the first class, cause i worked for it. My next step now, is to employ people. Who knows, my certificate will be useful tomorrow.

First class is not a disease. We are teachers, we are boss. kiss

Family / Re: Help: My Father Is Killing My Mom Gradually by Abyima(m): 1:16pm On May 05, 2020
Lekan239:
My parents got married 27years ago, since then it has been hell for my mom. It's as if my mom was forced on him or did the love just seize to exit, this I need advice on, from my brothers and sisters here on what to do next.

It all began in 1993, two years later I was born (1995), then we reside in Lagos but my dad later moved to pH in search of greener pastures. He only comes back home (Lagos) once in a while. My mom tried all her best to cater for her kids during all those period with no help or whatsoever coming from my Dad. It wasn't easy at all.

Fast forward to early 2003, my dad came visiting after two years without hearing from him and then my mom decided we are going with him to pH, he opposed but my mom Insisted. To cut the long story short, after we get to pH we found out my dad was living carelessly, womanizing, his social life is zero because he doesn't drink or smoke but he lavished all his money outside and Care less about his family.

My mom strived and engaged in little business which we managed to survive on. My dad only comes home when he is Short of money and acted low and submissive but as soon as he got some money, he changed immediately.

So 2010 I left pH to the village, was writing waec, looking for admission and so on, later going to lag to hustle around 2013 as I'm the one to foot my education expenses.

2015 I gained admission in a polytechnic, after my OND in 2017 I went back to lag to begin the hustle as I have to further my education, all this period I did not visit my family in Port Harcourt. I went back for HND in 2018 but had to withdraw because of lack of funds, I went back again in 2019 because a family member advised he will foot the bills which he later didn't do.

So because of this covid 19 I visited my parents in pH. My mom was very ill, she can't move nor stand and she has been the one taking care of the family, my father inclusive. My father has been a lazy man who depends solely on his wife for survival. He does not work, he does not stay at home with his sick wife. 6am he will enter the kitchen and eat any food he finds he won't even ask if four of his kids and my mom will eat. He will go and sit down in people's shops around the streets discussing with people's wife's. 10am he will be back home, straight to the kitchen to check if there's any food if my mom had drop money for us to prepare food, he will eat it without even talking to anybody, in fact he owns the kitchen now. He repeats same 2pm, 5pm and night meal also. I'm just so angry right now I don't even know what I am typing again.

After seeing all this behavior i advised my mother to give him some space, she gave birth to four children for him and three of us can survive on our own as we are no longer kids, but she won't obliged it's just as if maybe she is okay with suffering.

Today this morning, my dad did the most outrageous thing, he woke up and started ranting, saying does my mom think he is not going to be rich later, and he won't stay here forever. I got the message he was passing that he is going to leave my Mom if he stumbles upon some money. And I exactly told my mom this statement yesternight too.

Please you guys should advise me on what to do because at this junction, it hurts me a lot having the knowledge that my mom is with man who doesnt care or love her, even at her sick bed, he never for once visited the doctor nor the man of God taking care of my Mom.
That's what my father did. He frustrated my mum. But today, he is no more. And we are waxing stronger. We had to run from him when it became serious.

As the first child you are, try to take responsibility as a father now. You should be strong for your mum and siblings.

I suggest you should talk to him like son and father. If he doesn't listen, u can cut him off by staying far from him. No matter what, he is still your father. You can go and visit him whenever you wish.

It seems like that your mother loves him so much. Talk to her and here from her also. If she wishes to be with him, just leave them to be.

Everything boils down to money. If there is money, u can rent a house for your mum and siblings so as to have peace of mind. And you can still send some money to your dad if you wish.

If you continue living this way, you might also be affected. Because after drying your mum's pocket, he might come for you and your siblings to dry your own pocket.

Sorry to say this, your father is acting like a gold digger....

I so much appreciate your response sir. God bless you.
Then after all these you just explained, is it going to reflect to my online profile?
It will reflect. But if it doesn't reflect, it will reflect on your nysc portal during mobilization. That is, if you don't pass through the school senate and went to jamb office only.

Your school mobilization unit too can help. But they might ask you to find them something.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Can I Change My DOB As Undergraduate. by Abyima(m): 1:13pm On May 03, 2020
Peacecore:
Thanks Chairman, but will they refer me to JAMB office at Abuja?
Yes they will but necessarily Abuja. U can do that in any jamb office. NYSC normally use Jamb date of birth. You can as well go to jamb office to help you. There are other ways you can do this, by doing jamb regularization of date of change of date of birth. But your school might reject it if the date doesn't matches the the date of birth you are using in school. So you have to beg them or convince them, that it is not your original date of birth. And this will take like 3 to for weeks for you to be regularized.

So choose.

Nigeria is a very stupid country. That's why they need psychologist to play their role based on sound mental health. But they don't value psychologist in Nigeria unlike other countries. Zoo is Nigeria.

We Igbos don't expect any less from buhari and his cohorts. We didn't vote him. We will fend for ourselves and survive just like we've always done. What's even the 2k abi 5k trader moni that we should wail about. What problem will it actually solve for them, the poor actually needs education, job or vocation, health care and security. They'll use the 3k buy food, next week they'll still look upto the govt again after the food is exhausted. Empower a man to fish not just giving him daily fish.
We Igbos even after starting over after the war with just 20 pounds in our accounts no matter the thousands or millions you've had before, still got up to our feet and moved on. And years after we will still not look up to the Nigerian govt.
Please try to avoid tribalism. It is not only Igbos that are suffering this. Yoruba, South-south, e.t.c. sad

Health / Re: I Fall Sick Whenever My Hair Grows, What Could Be The Cause? by Abyima(m): 8:14pm On Apr 15, 2020
TalkTalkTwins:
Hello guys,

Good day everyone!

I just have a little problem, though it is not a problem except that I like my hair grown... haha!
Okay, whenever I let my hair grow to a particular stage, I fall sick. I mean, seriously sick that I can't stand up or walk.

I noticed it first in my 100L in school, since that was the first time I was opportune to let my hair grow so well. The sickness came midnight, and in the morning I rushed to get a cut and got fine without any medication.

The second time, I was in 200L. I got sick and called my mum to tell her I was going to return home for treatment, my hair was grown and I knew she'd complain about it and visited the barber first.

When I reached home same day, no medications, no treatments at all, I became very fine.

In my third year again, I let my hair grow. It was giving me signs that I'd soon get sick, and I ignored it. It came again midnight, and I couldn't sleep. Fever, headaches, stomach pains, legs were aching and I could barely see.

In the morning I rushed to the barber's shop, as early as 6 o'clock. I didn't even let him carve my hair... haha!

He just barbed me, I rushed home and fell on my bed. I didn't lock the doors, no bathing, nothing.
When I woke up, the sickness was mysteriously gone.

Now I'm confused because this is so abnormal.
I have only heard of people who had dreadlocks, and would get sick whenever they barb them. Why is my own so different? Worst surprise, I'm an identical twin but it doesn't happen to my brother.

Has anyone else had or heard of a similar case? What could be the solution? I have made tons of Google searches and yet no reasonable help at all.

I asked some people and they were telling me to ask my parents. my biological parents are no more around and I don't even know who else to ask...Lol
We are in this together. I equally have the same problem. If I don't cut my hair, I can't read, I will feel very weak and lots more.

Anytime exam comes, if I don't cut my hair, I won't do very well. I can't understand what I have read and it makes me forget easily.

If I cut my hair during exam, I perform extraordinarily. I even came out with a first class degree.

My head was very soft. It even affected my hearing. I don't hear very well with my hair on. Even when my eyebrow grows very well, it makes me uncomfortable. I am not comfortable with hairs, even a mustache. I always scratch my head if there is hair on it or I pour it water before I feel relaxed

It feels like something walks on my head anything my hair was on.

In 2014/my pastor called me and delivered me. He said a blue and a red bird where feeding on my head spirituality and he prayed for me. Ever since then the thing that always move on it stopped.

But the itching hasn't stopped. I have used dandruff creams, but it ain't working. I normally use a comb to scratch my head.

I normally use any hot hair cream before I get myself or apply rob on it. Even before writing my exams, I apply it and it will make my brain very active..

For me, I think it has to do with the head. Anytime I sleep very early in the evening, it doesn't itch me. And anytime I use red soap to bath, it doesn't.

Dpharisee:
In every situation there are always lessons for EVERYONE. My daughter Nkemchoro just made a post in a closed forum stating:

"Nigerians are crying for food after just 2 weeks of staying at home forgetting that the Biafran genocide lasted for 3 years and igbos were condemned to starvation for the THREE YEARS"

And I add: And UNLIKE what happened to the Igbos for 3 years, in this TWO weeks NOBODY is bombing Nigerian MARKETS, SCHOOLS, CHURCHES, HOSPITALS and REFUGEE Camps. Also, NO ONE is imposing either land or sea or aerial BLOCKADE. NO ONE is laying siege and NO ONE is threatening to shoot anything that MOVES or DOESNT move. So for all those who found this two weeks under peaceable conditions difficult, just sit back and imagine what happened to the Igbos for three years between 1967 and 1970 and the United Nations and the rest of the World didn't give a damn. If you are Igbo born after 1970, hug and kiss any Igbo person you know was born before 1970. They are LIVING HEROES! They literally passed through the valley of death. If you are NOT Igbo, don't feel pity for Igbos. Just have an idea of what has happened to them from your experience of the last two weeks.

Francis Duru..
Meaning? Don't let tribalism eat you up. When bad things happen you praise yourselves and when it is good you still praise yourselves and shift bad things to other tribes . God help una.
