Mulan 2020 is the live action remake of the classic Disney animated movie about a girl who disguises herself as a man and goes to war in her father's place.

POSTIIVES
1. Unlike most of the Disney live action remakes, this movie is not an exact remake of the original. The villain is different, his motivation is different, there is inclusion of fantasy elements that were not in the original etc.
And I think this is a good decision (in theory anyway).
Almost all of the Disney classics still hold up well today. The animation, voice acting and story all look great till this day, so a lot of people have criticised the live action remakes as soulless cash grabs that have nothing to offer.
This movie on the other hand, tried to tell a story that isn't exact to the original and I think that is quite laudable.


2. The movie looks extremely nice. The location and cinematography are all top notch and as such, the movie is a visual delight.

NEGATIVES

1. As much as I would like praise the fact that the movie tried to do something different, unfortunately, the changes that were made was for the worst.

The core message of the movie feels vastly inferior to the original and a lot of the supporting characters are devoid of personality.


2. The acting isn't too good.

I've noticed that when (some) Chinese people act in a language that isn't Mandarin, their performance leaves so much to be desired and I think that this was the case in this movie.
Some characters in this movie were good like Mulan's father. However, the movie is littered with may instances of sub-par acting.

The actress who plays Mulan is also guilty of this. In some scenes, she in good, however, there are many scenes where she has this beautifully frozen face that is utterly incapable of emoting.


3. Bloodless warfare. Yey!
I understand that this is a PG movie, but the scenes of bloodless warfare really took me out of the movie.
It just felt like, we are looking at a high school play. Someone gets stabbed- you don't see any blood and the blade is also bloodless. Hmm.


4. Weird editing choices.
This movie has a lot of bizarre editing but the one that sticks out for me was in the battlefield where birds start to attack the soldiers and then they form a sort of dome with their shields in order to protect themselves.

Then the bad guys bring out their cannon and begin to shoot the good guys.

OK oh. No problem.

From the wider shot, we could see about 5-7 shield domes. Maybe there are more but we didn't get to see them.

In response, Mulan who is quite far from the position of the bad guys, jumps on a horse, picks up like 5-7 helmets, and then in the next shot, she is very far behind the bad guys - like WTF?
Does she now teleport?


5. For some reason, they decided to not include any of the songs from the original in the movie. There is a bit of the instrumental version of one of the classic songs but that was all.
I. Can understand why they didn't want to make it a musical, however, they should have still included some of the classic songs in the background or in a montage


In conclusion, Mulan, like all Disney live-action remakes suck when compared to the original, however on its own, the movie is just avergish and highly forgettable.

he never said the movie wasn't interesting or good. Considering it's just a movie review. He only agreed to the controversy surrounding the banning of the movie... I think they are two different things.

I deleted it on my system after ep05 and I won't continue watching that shit. And besides sef the show want carry too many stuff at a time with few characters

He will pay but it wont be that easy, remember he has the governor behind him and his real dad is a real badass, a father that advises his son to destroy, is no ordinary father and lastly he got the billion dollar coporation and possibly the Indians behind him. Jamie has the connection to totally destroy yellow stone and he has the priviledge to get more hit men twice as many as what John has. The next season will definely get bloody but be rest assured that Jamie aint an easy kill. He knows all the dark secrets of that ranch. The only hope for John,kaycee,Bet and the yellowstone, are the men that wants kaycee as Governor.

This is amazing and sweet.
Highly recommended for comedy lovers.

The moment I saw Rebecca I knew someone will break her walls somehow and Ted has managed to do that even though he doesn't see it.
I think those two are gonna fuçk/date but now that Rebecca's friend has entered the room with Ted, I fear for the worse.
I pray he refuses temptation, I wanna see where Ted and Rebecca will end up.

If you read my post very well, i specifically mentioned male gay scene.

Honestly i have no problem with lesbians even if we know it's wrong but male gay scene is where i really don't understand.

no sub plot here it straight as it can be it’s revolves around tic n his race, but that is my point u Nigerian have this constructive mindset of having a dialogue to either be good or bad, the way I said it is simply with maybe just like how movie critic says it and also I have watched a lot of series when it come to jj Abrams he create series with lots of incredible expectations then all of a suddenly get cancelled examples are revolution, almost human, undercover n more but doesn’t mean he his still not one of my favorite producers, also Jordan peele I think this is his first sci/ series.. so bro all I did was predictive analysis thinking it out loud which I definitely say at d end of that typo that fingers cross n enjoy it y it last

Lmaoo didn't Game of Thrones had a bout of incest that even lead to procreation, but "Male gay" scene is where you draw the line.. Bro you are going to get angry alot if all these things still bug you cuz that's the norm line the world is towing towards now. Just FF the scene if it bothers you that much and enjoy your series jeje.

Lovecraft country is a nice series but I think they will bite more than dey can chew with what they are trying to do with d series but at least we get to keep enjoying it for a yl

The gay scene in the episode 5 of the lovecraft country, is the most disgusting piece of shiiit i have ever seen in a series for many years. The scene was totally not necessary, it actually makes no iota of sence. They should not force such nonsence on us, it is actually very disturbing and now i know why some people are very violent towards gay men in America and Europe. That scene got me very angry. By the way, it was a nice episode except for the gay scene. They dont have to include gay scence to sell the series. Game of thrones, Power, Into the badlands, The seeker, peaky blinders, the crown, Yellowstone, lord of the ring and many highly rated series had no male gay scenes and yet billions of people loved them are they won awards.

I saw the first episode season one and it seemed like all these chic-flick drama series. A show about 2 overage unhappy women seems boring. Except they rob a bank or something.

We should learn to research who's spearheading a series before taking it for a spin so as for us to prevent clashes like this. That's something I've learned and it works out for me. If the series creator represents something I don't like, I derail myself from the show because I've noticed maybe not at the onset but it will eventually be mirrored in the show one way or the other.
We just don't hop into a stranger's car thinking it will be a joyful ride. We should know who our drivers are and where they are taking us so that "had I known" won't be our mootball
