A Lagos-based rights group, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), has sued the Federal Government over its “failure to stop former governors, now serving as senators and ministers, from receiving double pay and life pensions as well as recover the over N40 billion of public funds unduly drawn by these public officers.” In the suit, filed at the Federal High Court Ikoyi over the weekend in Lagos, the group said its action followed the refusal of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), to use his “position as a defender of public interest to institute legal actions to stop former governors from enjoying emoluments while drawing normal salaries and allowances in their positions as senators and ministers.” Citing Order 34, Rules 1 and 3 of the Federal High Court Rules 2009, the organisation noted: “Public function should be exercised in the public interest. Double emoluments promote private self-interest or self-dealing. By signing double perks, these former governors have abused their entrusted positions, and thereby obtained an undue advantage, contrary to Article 19 of the UN Convention against Corruption to which Nigeria is a state party.” The suit is seeking among other reliefs, an order granting leave to the applicant to apply for a judicial relief and an order of mandamus directing and or compelling the respondent to urgently institute appropriate legal actions to challenge the legality of states’ laws permitting former governors, who are now senators and ministers to enjoy governors’ emoluments while drawing normal salaries and allowances in their new political offices; and to identify those involved and seek full recovery of public funds from them. However, the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi and his counterparts in the Ministries of Labour and Employment as well as Power, Works and Housing, Chris Ngige and Babatunde Fashola, have denied drawing extra funds as former governors. http://www.akelicious.com/2017/10/rights-group-sues-government-over.html

General Manager, Sales and Distribution, GOtv, Akin Saliu, has said that the low-cost multichannel digital pay TV has through its subscription models, payment plan and affordable services launched many Nigerian families into the digital space. Saliu, who spoke yesterday when he visited Rutam House, the Corporate Headquarters of The Guardian, alongside top management members of staff of the firm, said the GOtv had since its inception spread across 50 cities within 26 states across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria. He said the firm had not defaulted in its promise to offer the best of entertainment at affordable rates to its viewers since it joined the league of digital television transformation. “Last year, we launched GOtv Lite to bring back our viewers and offer more Nigerians opportunity to be part of the digital migration. It is the cheapest subscription, N400 per month with over 20 channels. We also have GOtv Plus with over 50 channels. In the Nigerian space, we have been able to fill the vacuum to ensure more Nigerians watch the pay TV. “We have helped to leapfrog many Nigerians into the digital space. We have assisted government in digitising. We have brought more people to watch high fidelity pictures and sound on GOtv, the best of local and international contents and we will continually delight our consumers. This October, we have three major initiatives to launch, we are not resting on our laurels, and we must continue to beat our chest to say we are number one in that market segment,” he said. Saliu, who asserted that GOtv had recorded phenomenal achievements within its six years of operation, assured that the firm would continually overlook challenges of cost and focus more on new commitments to provide the best of entertainment. http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/we-have-launched-many-nigerians-into.html

The Senate has mandated its leadership to meet with the executive to resolve the crises emanating from series of ethnic agitation across the country, especially from the South East. The senators reached the decision yesterday at its resumption after eight-week recess. It was part of a truce Igbo senators reached with their northern counterparts at a closed-door session, which lasted about two hours. At the end of the executive session, President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, read out the summary of the outcome of the meeting: “At about 12.30pm, we concluded our closed-door session. We deliberated on key national issues and resolved as follows that the unity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is non negotiable. “We also resolved to seek all lawful avenues to ensure that peace is restored to all parts of Nigeria. “All groups or associations currently in agitations for one reason or the other should do so through the laws of the land.” It was learnt that Saraki, had before the session, intimated his colleagues of issues that would dominate discussions. A lawmaker who spoke to Daily Sun, said, Saraki opted for a closed-door session to allow lawmakers speak frankly on the Biafra issue. He said South East lawmakers were asked to speak first. Eyinnaya Abaribe, it was learnt, spoke extensively on behalf of South East lawmakers. He pleaded with senators from other geopolitical zones to condemn the recent “invasion” of the geopolitical zone by soldiers and the subsequent proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) by the Federal Government. The lawmaker said: “South East lawmakers also pleaded with other senators, especially those from the North to support them and prevail on the Federal Government to rescind the proscription of IPOB. “There were few hiccups, but Saraki was able to calm the whole thing. “In the end, lawmakers from the South East were able to make their case and we all agreed that the Senate leadership will meet with executive and find a way to resolve this.” Northern lawmakers, however, gave a condition that they would support South East senators if they openly criticised any act of violence by any agitating group, in any part of the country. It was learnt that South East lawmakers reluctantly agreed. At the end of the meeting, lawmakers agreed to also shelve the debate till another legislative day to be announced by the Senate leadership. http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/senate-to-meet-buhari-over-ipob.html

The Senior Special Assistant on Media, Strategic Communications and legislative Matters, Prince Oliver Okpala says it is shameful for former Governor Peter Obi to be openly lying against the incumbent just to score cheap political point. Prince Okpala was reacting to Mr. Obi’s declaration that the incumbent Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, had nothing to show for the mandate he was given by the people of the state. The Senior Special Assistant said Mr. Obi was playing on the intelligence of the people, pointing out that Governor Obiano has not only exceedingly surpassed what he met on the ground by completing most of the existing projects, and has gone ahead to embark on very new strategic projects. He described former Governor Obi’s claim that he has no selfish interest in putting anyone into office as laughable, because according to him the real crux of the matter is not bad governance but the proceeds of godfatherism which Governor Obiano has refused to pay. According to Prince Okpala the reason for Obi's sudden negative turn against Governor Obiano was the Governor's refusal to pay the 7 billion naira he demanded which he, Obi claimed to have expended on his election. The Senior Media Aide emphasized that there is no room for godfatherism in Anambra as Governor Obiano has taken up the task of uplifting the lives of Ndi Anambra through popular projects and policies, as his only Godfather and what would speak for him in November, Governorship election. http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/obianos-aide-okpala-replies-peter-obi.html

North Korea’s foreign minister accused US President Donald Trump on Monday of declaring war on his country and warned that Pyongyang would defend itself by shooting down US bombers. “Trump claimed our leadership would not be around much longer,” North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho told reporters outside his hotel in New York. “He declared a war on our country.” “All the member states and the whole world should clearly remember it was the United States that first declared war on our country,” Ri said. “Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to take counter-measures including the right to shoot down US strategic bombers even when they are not yet inside the airspace border of our country,” he said. “The question of who won’t be around much longer will be answered then.” In his first address to the General Assembly, Trump last week threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea if it challenged America or its allies and derided leader Kim Jong-un as a “rocket man” who was “on a suicide mission.” Ri noted that the statement from Trump was “clearly a declaration of war” even if it came from the US president. Under the US Constitution, Congress is the sole power that can declare war. In his brief address to reporters before heading to the airport, Ri said that the international community had hoped that the “war of words between the DPRK and the United States not turn into real actions.” The North Korean nuclear crisis has dominated this year’s gathering of world leaders at the United Nations, which wraps up on Monday, amid fears that the heated rhetoric could accidentally trigger a war. North Korea in recent weeks detonated its sixth nuclear bomb and has test-fired intercontinental missiles — saying it needs to defend itself against hostility from the United States and its allies. During his address to the General Assembly on Saturday, Ri launched a personal attack on Trump, calling him a “mentally deranged person full of megalomania.” Just hours before Ri took the UN podium, US bombers flew off the east coast of North Korea, the furthest north of the demilitarized zone that any US aircraft has flown this century. The Pentagon said the mission was a “demonstration of US resolve and a clear message that the president has many military options to defeat any threat.” Trump’s threat to destroy North Korea made “our rockets’ visit to the entire US mainland all the more inevitable,” Ri said on Saturday. full details at http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/trump-has-declared-war-on-his-country.html

A man who violently stole Sh16, a toothbrush and toothpaste faces the death penalty after his appeal was dismissed. James Muchangi was sentenced to death by a magistrate’s court in 2010 and has since been fighting for his freedom. His appeals at the High Court and the Court of Appeal have flopped and sealed his fate. On March 20, 2008, at about 5am, John Kanyingi was walking to a bus stage in Kahawa Wendani when two men armed with a panga and a piece of metal confronted him. They frisked his pockets and stole a black bag that contained a toothbrush, toothpaste and Sh16. The robbers cut Kanyingi on the left side of the face below the eye. He later reported the incident at Kahawa Police Post and was issued with a P3 form. On April 2, 2008, he was called by the police that two people had been arrested. The following day, the officers proceeded to Muchangi’s house and found Kanyingi's black bag hanging on the wall. Muchangi and his accomplice were then charged in court. The co-accused died during trial. In his defence, the accused claimed he was arrested by police officers while on his way home after having drinks at a local club. Muchangi maintained the charges were framed against him by the police as a way of keeping him behind bars. But the lower court did not believe his testimony and sentenced him to death for robbery with violence. He appealed before High Court judges Mbogholi Msagha and Lydiah Achode, arguing that the complainant did not positively identify him. But the two judges threw out the case and Muchangi moved to the Court of Appeal. In the Court of Appeal, he complained that he never led the police to the house where the items belonging to the complainant were recovered. He, however, could not explain how the items ended up in his house. “The fact that the appellant was found with personal effects of the complainant only days after the robbery points to the irresistible conclusion that he was involved in the robbery," Justices Philip Waki, Asike Makhandia and William Ouko ruled. http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/man-to-hang-for-stealing-sh16.html

The former world's fattest woman - who weighed 500Kgs - has died aged 37. Eman Ahmed reached the massive weight after being born with a condition that left her constantly hungry . The Egyptian had spent 25 years in bed due to her size but was flown to a hospital Mumbai, India, in February for surgery to combat her weight. She left Saifee hospital in May after her family fell out with doctors and flew to Abu Dhabi's Burjeel hospital where she celebrated her birthday last week. But the hospital announced this morning she had passed away in the early hours from underlying health conditions including heart disease and kidney dysfunction. A hospital spokesperson said: "She had been under supervision of a medical team of over 20 doctors from different specialities who were managing her medical condition from the time she arrived in the UAE. "Eman's family expressed their appreciation for the care and treatment provided to her by Burjeel hospital." She was born weighing a hefty 4Kgs and was shortly diagnosed afterwards with the parasitic disease called elephantiasis. By the time she turned 11, she was too heavy to support her weight standing up, and resorted to crawling in her home on her knees. Eventually she lost the strength to move on her own and was bedridden for 25 years. But a team of doctors at Saifee hospital came up with a plan to bring down her weight. She was transported in a huge operation from her home in Alexandria and was so fat that a wall of her home had to be brought down to help her bring out. After a seven-hour flight, she was transported to the hospital in a specially equipped truck accompanied by her sister, Shaimaa Ahmed, and a team of doctors. It is estimated the hospital spent £25million in building an infrastructure to house Eman. She lost 95Kgs before undergoing the surgery in March which pulled her weight down to 355Kgs. Then over two months she was put on a special diet and the hospital claims she weighed in at 165Kgs. But her sister Shalimaa disputed the size of the weight loss in a video she broadcast on YouTube. Following a meeting with doctors, it was decided Eman would be flown to the United Arab Emirates to continue her treatment. more details at http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/breaking-former-worlds-heaviest-woman.html

Although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, you should probably check the license page out here. We haven’t yet gotten over the release of Fenty Beauty products, with 40 shades of foundation and other products the Internet has been raving on. Not to speak of Rihanna’s longtime partnership with PUMA and her runway show at New York Fashion, which had pink sand dunes and bikers doing flips in the air over the show. There is also her constant feature as the cover girl of major magazines, her appearances in movies, and her philanthropy. And now there’s a winery somewhere in the mix.Perhaps all those days when she was caught carrying the wine glass out of restaurants, she was really giving us signs and preparing us for this. more details at http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/rihanna-wants-to-launch-wine-and.html

The United Nations (UN) estimates that up to 5.2 million people in northeastern Nigeria are experiencing acute food insecurity and require emergency food assistance, largely as a result of insurgency, resultant displacement and loss of means of livelihoods. This was revealed in a “Draft Nigeria Country Plan Global Food Security Strategy” document sent to Daily Sun by United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which said food availability, accessibility, utilisation and stability remain a challenge in Nigeria. Despite government’s effort to strengthen the agricultural sector to generate broad-based growth and achieve food security, an annual growth rate of 2.5 per cent in food production remains sub-optimal. Furthermore, the document also revealed that the menace Boko Haram insurgency and resultant counter-insurgency measures by the Nigerian military have severely reduced trade, market activities and agricultural production in northeastern Nigeria, resulting in significantly increased food insecurity in these areas in recent years. Moreover, the organisation explained that the volatility in global food prices, restrictions on the ability of Nigerian importers to access foreign exchange, and wide gaps between official and parallel market exchange rates have led to increases in the prices of imported foods, contributing to rising vulnerability among poorer urban and rural households in Nigeria. With Nigeria’s population growing at an alarming 3.2 per cent per annum, the organisation suggested that food availability, accessibility, stability and utilisation must constantly be increased to prevent food insecurity. “With an estimated population of 182 million people (50.5 per cent male and 49.5 per cent female) in 2016 and an annual growth rate of 3.2 per cent, Nigeria will have a projected population of 440 million people by 2050. This has serious implications for increased food productivity and security.” Food security is closely linked to hunger and malnutrition. Nigeria’s 2016 Global Hunger Index (GHI) scores of 25.5 against the 2000 score of 40.9 indicates a substantial reduction in hunger. However, the 38 per cent reduction in hunger over the last 16 years still represents a serious level of hunger based on the GHI severity scale. According to the 2013 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS), 37 per cent of children under five years of age are stunted; with 21 per cent severely stunted. This indicates chronic, long-standing malnutrition. The highest levels of severe and moderate stunting are found in children between 18 and 23 months, with approximately half of the children in this age category stunted. more details at http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/52m-people-in-neast-suffer-acute-food.html

No fewer than 516 police personnel and other officers from sister security agencies in Enugu State have participated in a routine monthly fitness exercise. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that officers of other security agencies present at the exercise included the Nigeria Prisons and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as well as staff of corporate organisations including NAN. The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr Ebere Amaraizu, told NAN during the exercise on Saturday that the exercise was to keep security personnel in Enugu State up and doing in the discharge of their duties. Amaraizu said that the exercise, tagged “Walk/Jog for Life’’ also promote synergy and co-operation among security agencies and the members of the public. “Through this monthly fitness exercise, the Enugu State Police Command has been able to close the communication and interaction gap between members of the public and security agencies in the state. “It has increased the number of people involved in fighting crime and criminality; thus, increasing safety and calmness in the entire state,’’ he said. The PPRO, however, appealed to more corporate organisations to get involved in the exercise in order to promote security consciousness among residents. “We want philanthropists and corporate organisations to partner with us in printing security information leaflets, banners and other items that would carry beneficial security tips. “These security tips and addresses both in GSM and social media can be handy and helpful to anyone at any moment,’’ Amaraizu said. One of the participants, Mr Johnson Ugwu, an officer of NSCDC, told NAN that ‘’the exercise has extended the frontiers of the inter-agency co-operation between NSCDC and Nigeria Police as well as other security agencies’’. NAN reports that the participants walked and jogged through Ridge Way, Okpara Avenue, Prisons Way, Camp Road, Zik Avenue and terminated at Agbani Road all within Enugu metropolis. NAN also recalls that the Enugu State Police Command monthly Walk/Jog Exercise commenced in January 2009. more details at http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/516-police-personnel-others-participate.html

After several days of speculations and political horse trading, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has submitted the name of Hon. Tony Nwoye to the Independent National Electoral (INEC) as its candidate for the November 18 governorship election in Anambra state. The party also issued a certificate of return to Nwoye as the party’s candidate against the recommendation of the Appeal panel, calling for the outright cancelation of the primary election. The appeals panel had told the National Working Committee that most of the aspirants who contested the primary led by Sen Andy Uba, questioned Nwoye’s emergence, demanding a repeat of the exercise. However, the Chairman of the Committee that conducted the primary and Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima on his part told the party that non of the aspirants questioned the integrity of the primary through out the exercise. On his part, Senator Andy Uba who wanted an outright cancelation of the primary and declaring him winner, Sen Uba wrote: “I complained to some members of the Primary Election Committee sent from the headquarters of the party. To be frank, I continued with the exercise in protest after observing all these irregularities. Most of the disgruntled delegates of the primary election have gone to various courts to depose to an affidavit of events that transpired.” The Nation was informed that the Appeal panel recommended a repeat of the governorship poll. However, rising from a crucial meeting at the party national secretariat on Monday, decided to forward Nwoye’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in order to meet the deadline for submission of names of candidates for the election. National Organising Secretary Osita Izunazo, who confirmed the development told newsmen that the NWC threw out Sen. Uba’s petition against Nwoye and also overruled the recommendation of the Appeal panel for total concelation of the primary poll. “I can confirm to you that the NWC has issued certificate of return to Tony Nwoye as APC governorship candidate for November 18, Anambra election.” more details at http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/anambra-guber-poll-apc-submits-nwoyes.html

This is in addition to the N25m already approved by the Council on19thJuly 2017 as take-off funds for the Commission. The approval followed a financial request for funds made to government by the chairman of ENSIEC, Dr. Mike E. Ajogwu, a senior advocate (SAN) and fellow of the international Institute of Arbitrators. The funds will be deployed for procurement of sensitive materials, ballot papers and election forms, transportation, security, publicity and payment of honoraria and allowances to fulltime and ad-hoc staff. The state government also announced yesterday that it has constituted new executive management committees for all affected local government councils where interim administrators have indicated interest in running for office for the November 4 elections. At least one person, a police officer, has been confirmed dead after an attack by suspected members of the pro-Biafra separatist group, IPOB, in Abia State, the police have said. The police also announced that at least 59 suspected members of the now outlawed group have been arrested by security officials. The new Abia State Commissioner of Police, Anthony Ogbizi, who stated these, also said suspected members of IPOB, recently arrested, will be prosecuted for murder, arson and other related crimes. Ogbizi disclosed this during a press briefing and parade of seven suspected members of IPOB at Ariaria police station in Aba. He said following the proscription of IPOB by governors in the South East and its declaration as a terrorist group by the Nigerian Army, anybody found with Biafra materials would be arrested and prosecuted. He said that they would be prosecuted under the Anti Terrorism Act to ensure they were properly dealt with. Ogbizi, echoing what the army had earlier said, stressed that IPOB by their action had shown itself to be a terrorist group, which must be dealt with as such. He said that between September 10 and September 14, 2017, the Ariaria police station was attacked by suspected members of IPOB, who destroyed everything in the station. He said they came with petrol bombs, which they used to gain entrance, destroyed properties and took three pump action guns. He said: “Even some policemen were seriously injured. In fact, as I am talking to you, one of the injured police officer is dead. Doctors tried in vain to save his life. Now, we have lost a soul and you know what it takes to train a police officer. You know the vacuum that creates. It takes a minimum of one year to train a police officer.” Ogbizi said the group also destroyed property of lawful citizens, adding that their demonstration was not peaceful. He alleged that the group attacked a bank to get money to acquire more weapons. The police boss said about 30 IPOB members were arrested when they attacked soldiers at Isiala Ngwa and about 29 arrested in Umuahia. He added that suspected IPOB members attacked military officers and the residences of Commissioner of Police and AIG Zone 9 in Umuahia. Ogbizi said volunteered that the army recovered several exhibits including the coat of arms of Biafra from the suspects. “As I am talking to you now, information reaching me said they have started gathering at Nnamdi Kanu’s house”, he said. Ogbizi called on the people to volunteer information on the whereabouts of the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. He denied rumours circulating in the state that security agents have arrested Kanu’s father. more details at http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/59-ipob-members-to-face-trial-for.html

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has unfolded plans to complete the installation of a technology infrastructure portal that would enable it capture investors’ data forms for dematerialisation, e-dividend, and Direct Cash Settlement (DCS) in one centralised data base by January 2018. The Director, Market Development of SEC, Henry Adekunle Rowland, in an interview with The Guardian, during the Investors’ Clinic held at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), said the mechanism is part of the Commission’s effort to boost market development, and restore confidence in retail investors. With the infrastructure, the pains investors go through while completing various data forms in the nation’s capital market would be eliminated.Furthermore, he noted that the initiative would enhance turnaround time for investors’ completion of data form, thereby attracting more retail investment into the market. He added that once the data of an investor is captured in the centralised database, which would be held by the central depository, all qualified stakeholders handling such investment would have direct access to the investors’ data form. “The impact is that everybody qualifies to see the data base at the same time; once a broker is working on it, the registrar can be working on it, and it enhances the turnaround time, and makes investors experience more friendly. “The objective is that we don’t want investors to go through the rigors of completing various forms, you complete one form for e-dividend, you complete another for DCS, you are called upon again to complete another for X and Y. “What we are trying to do is to consolidate all these efforts to make sure we have a centralised data base once we capture the data of an investor in the centralised database, which would be held by the central depository.“It would be held in such a way that all stakeholders that are qualified like the SEC, NSE, CBN, CSCS, registrars, and brokers can have direct access to the data. Investors will complete this form online; we gather all the data and information of the investors we require and keep it in that centralised database.” The Operations Manager, Market Operations, NSE, Keneth Nwafor, urged stockbrokers to support the regulators by creating awareness of these initiatives to the investing public. “All these initiatives would help reduce the level of complaint on diversion of investors’ money and market infractions. It would improve speed and transparency and boost both local and foreign investors’ confidence in the market.” The Chief Executive Officer of United Securities Limited, Seyi Owoturo, stressed the need for operators to identify those investors that are yet to migrate their securities to their preferred brokers. He pointed out that just about 55 per cent of investors in the market have migrated their securities properly, urging stockbrokers to identify the remaining 45 per cent investors to enhance the processes. “To help this process, from our estimation currently just about 50 to 55 per cent of investors have actually migrated their securities properly to their preferred brokers. This gives room for brokers to actually begin to look at the history of their public offering. “This would help them to identify those people that have bought shares in the past and actually go after this people to migrate their securities to their account because ultimately when they want to sell; it is the same brokers they will come to. There is an opportunity for about 45 per cent of the market to actually migrate their securities to their preferred broker.” more details at http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/sec-nse-to-tackle-multiplicity-of.html

The lawmaker representing Lagos Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Oluremi Tinubu, has affirmed that hate speech and quit notices will hurt Nigeria. Tinubu, while describing Nigeria as a complex country, noted that her greatness lied in the diversity of the different groups that make up the country. The senator spoke at a town hall meeting with her constituents on Friday at Arcade Hall, Eko Club, Surulere, Lagos on Friday. Tinubu commended the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, one of the groups that formed the coalition, for prevailing on the youth to withdraw their quit notice. “I also appeal to others to follow suit and take back any statement capable of leading to hostilities and apprehension,” she said. She called on Nigerians to re-evaluate themselves and those around them to adequately benefit from the diversity of ideas and experiences. She said that Lagos “with all the different ethnicities that make up Nigeria residing within her boundaries, has proven that it is possible to coexist peacefully.” more details at http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/tinubu-breaks-silence-on-happenings-in.html

Governor okorocha needs our help, to help him fish out sycophants in his media team. By Casmir Nguzoro Early before 2015 election, I personally raised an alarm on this same issue. I can remember telling people around me and equally making some publications, saying that one of the major problem of Governor Rochas Okorocha is that, he is surrounded mostly sycophants, praise singers rather than advisers . He is surrounded by mostly selfish and self centered people, people who don't care about the feelings and well-being of the poor masses, people who don't care about the good name of the governor. Mostly people who end up destroying his image instead of looking for a way to make the people of Imo State to like the governor. People who are only interested in what they will gain. They will be like, after all opportunity comes but once, who cares whether you like what the governor is doing or not. And believe me when I say that, this is where the problem of our governor started. I must confess, to be a leader is not easy, nor matter what you do, nor matter how hard you try, you can never please all at the same time. But in all you do, make sure you have more of people that support you for your good, and not sycophants. When Governor Okorocha came into poor in 2011, imolites Celebrated him. He was the redeemer, the rescuer, but today, the rescuer is looking for a rescuer. You made imolites smile, you gave hope to students with your free education, you gave hope to civil servants with your #20000 minimum wage, to gave hope to pensioners, to the market women, you helped them fry corn, yes we saw the images . You started building general hospitals in almost all the local governments in Imo State. You had projects going on almost everywhere, you beautified government house Owerri. Hon Emeka found it hard to win you in 2015 election all because you had the love of many imolites. What is he going to promise imolites that you were not currently doing. Imo civil servants, market women and pensioners were ready to die in the name of voting for you. After 2015 election what happened? You broke our heart, you broke the heart of many. Believe me if a free and fair is being conducted between you and Emeka Ihedioha, or OKEY EZE, or Ike C IBE, or the owner of good Light Foundation (Mr Stanley ). Believe me you will be surprise to see imolites voting massively against you. Not that you are bad, no no no, not that at all . You are one of the governors I respect so much, you have dreams of making Imo great. When you came, you came with love, but at the long run you were carried away . Your sycophants increased and started attacking social media activist like us. I can remember one jobless slowpoke with name ejiofor was assigned to always attack my write-ups and my personality. Smiles but that didn't stop us from saying the truth . After 2015 there was vum vam everywhere, Adapalm one of the highest palm oil producing farms was VAMED.. it was leased out. Instead of Imo State government to build soap factories, broom factories, cream factories and all factories that generates their raw materials from palm trees. It was leased or sold out. And bongo square was introduced, there came shop rites, oya ndi Imo time to spend your money without any Job and source of income. Owerri was filled with yahoo boys. I still repeat it, you were the best, I can remember boasting with your name back then in 2012 telling my Akwa Ibom friends that you are better than Gov Godswill , but I can't say that outside my room again, to avoid people beating me to death. Do you know that if you had completed the general hospitals and schools, maintain free education, pay civil servants 100% salary, pay pensioners their as at when due, you would have created a history that would be very hard to erase. Your social media team is a failure, they went to employ as many online sycophants and thugs, created many fake facebook accounts. If you doubt me search for your name on facebook, you will see as many facebooks accounts with your names, their by creating bad name for our governor. Posting things in your name, attacking and insulting people online. Using abusive word's on people . They were all trained on how to lie, yet they were not professionals. They later went ahead to start organizing awards for best facebook sycophants of the year. Am so happy that you have found the truth, I wont mention names of sycophants if not I would have mentioned one facebook account with Imo newsblog. My Governor sir, with respect you have to look twice with an open eye on your media team, started from the head. I wont be surprised that the will come here to comment and attack me, while I know that you will be following my comments and see those commenting, use your hand and identify the sycophants with abusive comments. May be they just changed their minds. I want I believe Imo for my unborn children, as a leader, Lead well, the lord will be your strength sir. Think about the well being and pains of those that voted you in. SOURCE:http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/open-letter-to-executive-governor-of.html

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship polls in the state, Tony Nwoye, has said students in the state will have the opportunity of earning at least N15,000 during long vacation holidays if they enrol into a holiday job scheme he is proposing. In a statement, he said that the scheme also incorporated a paid internship programme under which participants will work lesser hours. He said: “Job will be exclusive to students from SS1, both male and female. These students will be sent to Government institutions or private companies to work during the period of their long vacation. “The maximum number of months to work will be two months but a student can work for less if he or she wishes. “For every student that will be employed under this scheme, my administration will pay N15,0000 naira per month to such student and a Thank You letter signed by me and delivered to the ministry of youth to be given to the student on the completion of this work. “Internship will be open to all students, both male and female from JSS 1. Unlike Holiday Jobs, those under this scheme will work fewer hours and should not be allowed to work for more than one month so as not to be exploited by some employers. “They will be posted to both public and private institutions including private companies. The students under this category will be paid N15,000 at the completion of this programme and a letter sent to them and signed by me.” more details at http://www.akelicious.com/2017/09/anambra-students-to-get-n15000-for.html
