I intend to start an online master's program with ABU but I have my reservations. I don't know how smooth it runs, the ease of graduation, how soon one gets his certificate, etc bearing in mind that we are in Nigeria. Please I want to find out from the house if anybody has gone through it, or know anybody who has. Your inputs are highly needed. Mod please kindly move this to front page for more contributions. |
FortuneTeller:Exactly my point....if you have no money, no amount of prayer will give you that kind of miracle |
God working through IVF.... If she had no money to pay for IVF,there would have been no miracle. So praise the lord for giving her money to afford IVF... |
Can't you waybill it outside Lagos? |
I share the OP's point of view. You can't dress like the ladies in the pictures and then expect me to respect you. People are always quick to say "don't judge a book by its cover" but the cover carries the summary of the content of the book. You must go through the cover before deciding whether to read the book or not. Others will say "she may dress like a slut but is actually a good person ". For goodness sake,I can't go around asking people if their hearts are good or not. We all will only approach who we are comfortable with their appearance. Nobody here will approach a group of young men with axes and guns, smoking weed because we believe they may be decent. You can't see a person in military uniform and start thinking "oh, he may be a soldier,or perhaps he is a teacher. I need to approach him first to know if he is really a soldier" My point, don't wear a police uniform if you are not a policeman because you will be seen as such. Just as you have the right to dress the way you feel comfortable, I also have the right to regard you in the way I feel comfortable . |
speedfreak:Thanks bro |
xana101:You are funny. What do you know about an American bully? If you will just decide to Google it,you'll find enough information on its temperament. |
DogLover24:Thanks a lot |
Please does anyone know where one can get an American bully within the country? Something like this..

Wealthgang:Make sense |
Given the high rate of rape in this country,I am of the opinion that a very severe punishment for rapist should be legally spelt out. This may help in discouraging would-be rapist from even thinking of such. Here, let's take a look at various punishments in different countries of the we world . 1-- CHINA: Chinese rapist are automatically sentenced to death as punishment. Some even die of mutilation. These guys no get joy at all. I love this. 2-- IRAN: Big thing no happen, these guys go off person, wetin them go come do when something happen? Just so you know,if you are convicted of rape in Iran, you'll be hanged or shot to death. 3-- AFGHANISTAN: The guys in this country know what it means to be convicted of rape and as such, they keep their junk in their boxers or wrapper or trouser or whatever they fancy. This fear makes rape cases to be very few in Afghanistan, but if Satan send you errand and you decide go,just know that you'll be shot in the head within four days of being caught- that or hanged. It makes no difference. 4-- FRANCE: With all the romance in that country, one is tempted to ask why a brother would take it upon himself to rape a woman. Oh well, who knows what goes on in the minds of rapist? If convicted, you could face up to 15,30 or life in prison - this all depends on the damage caused to the victim. 5-- NORTH KOREA: You wey decide to go rape person for north Korea of all places, oyo is your case. Just sabi say na firing squad go settle your matter. 6-- RUSSIA: it's quite surprising to know that Russia doesn't enforce the death penalty to rapist. Instead they can serve anywhere between 3-6 years in prison or 10-20 years if the damage is really bad. 7-- SAUDI ARABIA: A rapist in Saudi Arabia is sedated and murdered in public if convicted. Hehehe. Now this is gangster. Fellow Nairalanders, what severe punishment do you propose for convicted rapists. As for me,the Saudi,Iranian or Afghan treatment will do just fine... |

I noticed a disturbing trend in total filling stations the last few times i went to buy fuel. when i asked the attendant to fill my tank,i was told that i had to buy their insecticide for 500 naira. Failure to do that meant i had to buy nothing more than 2,500 naira worth of fuel. After quarreling and all,I had no other option than to buy the insecticide because I needed to fill my tank. The next time I went to another total filling station, I was met with similar conditions. I demanded to see the manager who reiterated the terms.I felt frustrated but I had to buy. I don't know if this is only applicable to total filling stations located in calabar. Also,is this legal or are they just capitalizing on the fuel scarcity to sell their insecticides to desperate citizens? Who else has experienced this? |
This is plausible but I still have a few questions 1) what happens to champion's league, Europa league, bundesliga, etc? 2) how long will this last given that it's a promo? Is it permanent or after a month or two, things will return to how they were Until I'm certain, I think I'll stick with my CANtv were I watch all the matches at 3150 monthly . Dstv messed up seriously last year. It will take a lot for me to go back to them. |
Guy I'm in a similar predicament. I loaned out 100k to a man old enough to be my father. Oya pay na,na wahala. I've asked until I'm tired. This one even got to the point of giving me a dud cheque. I've thought of either involving a lawyer, the police or some guys but in truth,I really don't want to make a scene, nor push things to regrettable level. Still thinking of what to do. May God help us both.. |
Op no worries, like someone posted above, most federal workers got their december salaries without allowances. My colleagues and I suffered same. When I received the alert on the 1st,I was stunned. I immediately made some calls and realized I wasn't alone. A quick calculation and comparison revealed that it was some allowances that were missing. We aim to visit the account section tomorrow for clarification. So chill,it will be resolved. |
kelechiMarie:I'm glad you pray to get to a level where you can do that. I hope you achieve it. Like you rightly pointed out,how many patients can you pay for? As a house officer in O&G,we had a patient who required emergency c/s,I thought I was helping by signing as a surety at the blood bank for two pints of O-negative blood. We know how expensive that is. The patient left the hospital without paying. I was called daily by the H.O.D of heamatology to come pay. Finally,I had to go write for it to be deducted from my next salary. My dear, I don learn my lessons. I'm not forming any unnecessary heroics for patients who will never appreciate it at the end of the day. I'll do my job as best as I can but nobody should expect me to take any unnecessary risk for him or her.... |
kelechiMarie:Exactly, most of them will do worse. Another thing I hate is this talk of "if it were your mother or sister". Call me insensitive all you want but she wasn't the mother nor sister. How many of them have given a stranger what they give their mothers or sisters? How many of them were there when the family was suffering to put him through school? How dare you lot try to equate yourselves to one's mother. There is nothing we won't do for our mothers but I challenge any of you who will willingly help a total stranger at the expense of your job, to step forward... |
alpontif:Nigerians always quick to lay blame. The op just stated clearly that he is a house officer for God's sake. He had no business disobeying any order from a senior colleague. The best he could have done was try to appeal to his senior, nothing more. Also,a patient who died a few minutes after presentation at the clinic following a road traffic accident,I don't think a house officer would have done much to preserve such a patient. Let's say he went ahead to disobey his senior by attending to the patient and the patient still died( which would probably have happened),do you know what he would have faced? Don't get me started on the issue of deposits. Personally,I believe that asking patients to pay money before attending to them in emergency situations is wrong, but having interacted with most Nigerian patients, it's easy to understand why some hospitals maintain such a policy. A little story. I covered a big private hospital in owerri during the night shift a few years ago. A man was rushed in one night with an obstructed hernia. He was in severe pains. As usual, no cash. I called the owner of the hospital. He instructed me to do nothing if they don't pay. The relatives appealed, knelt down and begged. I decided to help. With the assistance of two nurses, I did an emergency surgery for him. Two nights later, he sneaked out of the hospital without paying a dime. I worked till month end,I wasn't payed, and I lost my job. To what end and purpose if I may ask you. In the future, how eager to help do you think I will be? So guys relax, before we start blaming folks, let's reason it all out first. Thanks boss... |
LesbianBoy:Maybe not probed but in truth I have never been convinced either... |
UnimkeAk:I totally agree with you. This has always been my problem with this whole biafra debacle- their assumption that south-south will be a part of biafra. That's an unfortunate assumption. I'm a cross riverian and I can tell you authoritatively that I've not met a single cross riverian who has the slightest bit of interest in being part of biafra. I have no problem with our ibo brothers clamoring for their own nation but they should know that it's exactly what it is-their nation, and it has nothing to do with south-south. If they still intend to force other unwilling people to join them, then what moral justification do they have to demand secession from Nigeria that they claim is holding them against their will? I'm tired of this biafra talk abeg. |
Isaacmacdon:I'm sure you can read |
I'm sure some nairalanders attended all those ajebo private schools and as such never got to experience 11/11 (eleven-eleven, I.e eleventh November). For those of us who attended public schools in towns where 11/11 was marked, I'm sure we can remember the dread, anxiety and suppressed excitement associated with the day. Let me start with a few of my experiences On every eleven-eleven, I woke up with fear tightly coiled in my stomach. My appetite was usually very poor on such mornings and leaving house for school was a herculean task. As I got to school on one of such days, a senior student met me at the gate, collected my school bag and sandals, then gave me a 10 naira note with instructions to buy him two bottles of mineral, five packs of biscuits,a few buns, and then return with hundred naira balance. When I couldn't effect such a miracle, I was made to frogjump round the school compound twice that morning and twice before going home. Another day, I was made to wear a paper necktie with the writing "i am a goat" from morning till I left school. I've carried a block on my head why walking on my knees for about 15minutes. The list is endless. The funny thing was that on such days, teachers never interfered. The senior students had the run of the school on 11/11. If you attended any school where 11/11 was marked, share your experience and let's have fun. |
JanethEze:Nobody wants a teacher to torture their kid but believe me,an occasional discipline is good. The child learns to obey constituted authority. Any parent who only wants the ward's transgression reported to them isn't doing the child any good and sooner or later, will grow tired of the child's unruly behavior. Let me tell you what happened in my neighborhood. There was a very stubborn kid whose mum never wanted anybody to lay a finger on. One day in school,he tore another pupil's uniform and was flogged by a teacher. He reported to his mum when he got home. The next day, the mum got some policemen and threatened all the teachers in the school. Since that day, all the teachers avoided the kid. No matter what he did, none of the teachers will even look in his direction, let alone tell him to stop. All they did was pick a phone and call the mum. The mum was called over 20 times a day. It went something like this "madam your son is pulling off his buttons, better come stop him;your son is eating his lunch by 10a.m,better come stop him or bring another one for him;your son is crying that he wants to go, please come and either take him home or make him stop." The mum had to go to school repeatedly everyday. The kid's behavior deteriorated and his school performance dropped. The mum had to pull him from the school to another where she maintained a low profile and allowed the teachers a free hand. |

honestly many ppl blaming the op would do the same in his shoes. We're only good at ranting online, when it comes to walking the talk many hide under covers. This is the result of a failed system, the op didn't have enough courage to go against it. Even those who have in times past have found themselves alone and their efforts futile #shame
