Politics / Re: We’ll Crush Pro-biafra Protesters In Rivers —governor Wike Warns by adahib: 6:18pm On Oct 21, 2015
I have no problem with ibos hustling for their country. My singular problem lies with their assumption that the south-south states will be a part of their country so they will have people to Lord over while enjoying resources from said people. That will never happen. Like a very smart poster up there said, the only way south-south can believe that the biafran struggle is genuine, and as such agree to support them, is when the ibos also champion a concomitant formation of a unified Niger-delta country.

Meanwhile, biafra is a fraud. Nnamdi kanu is a clown. Ibos should give it a rest already.

Culture / Re: How To Become A Nigerian In 15 Easy Steps By Mayo Bayo by adahib: 8:37pm On Oct 11, 2015
That first point is so true. The worst crime you can commit in Nigeria is not being religious. Regardless of how morally upright you are, as long as you have no place of worship, you are the worst individual who ever existed. On the other hand, like the op rightly pointed out, if you like, commit all the atrocities on earth,as long as you have a steady place of worship, mention God in every sentence, then you are good to go.

Op thanks for your good work... Please I've been meaning to ask this, are there only cars being sold in cotonou? I'm interested in getting a bike but can't seem to locate the particular bike I want within the country, and dealers have been offering me outrageous prices to import it from U.S.

So please, are bikes sold in cotonou.

Awaiting your reply. Thanks.

Still back to where we started- "faith" but no evidence. A lot of if,maybe, could, could not, perhaps, etc. If you want to be sincere, I'm sure you will see the stupidity of the anology. Smh

EnlightenedSoul:

Religion is chock full of gaps even the unseasoned layman is wont to challenge and dismantle with ease. It should come as no surprise to observe that the intelligent, scientific elite are lacking in 'faith' (which is, in essence, belief without cause and/or evidence, and thus goes against the very nature of science and the principles of the scientific mind). I would go so far as to posit that the figure of scientists said to believe in a deity in the OP (40%) are entirely blown up relative to reality due to the still evident stigma of professing complete and utter atheism.

Totally on point. Religion as we know it emphasizes the principle of "faith" because that is the only way any sane individual can toe such a line of belief. Religion forbids questions, critical thinking and analysis lest it's n.akedness be brought to the fore. Little wonder those who work based on evidence have little or no use for it. It's embraced fully by those who are too lazy to use their brains.

However the landing prices for these bikes are too damn high! Partly due to the proliferation of stolen bikes in the local market, but nobody here would order those bikes you posted at those prices. It won't happen. Almost a million to land (no-clearing) a 2002 R1 or a 2005 Gixxer 600? cheesy

I tire oo. The landing prices are damn scary.
Autos / Re: Wanted! A Harley-davidson Bike by adahib: 9:44pm On Oct 01, 2015
After surfing the net for a while,I came to realize that a very good Harley Davidson may be too expensive and as such,I've decided on a Yamaha raider '08 which is relatively cheaper and more importantly, more to my taste.

Is there anywhere I can get it?

2008 YAMAHA RAIDER S, This black beauty only has 23,060 miles on the speedometer. This '08 Raider S has 113 cubic inches of fuel injected V twin power and a 5 speed transmission, making it a great ride. Power is coupled to the rear wheel by a low maintenance belt drive.

$10,500 landing cost to Lagos port of entry.

Hmmm. Thanks for your effort but I must say this price is highly discouraging. $10,500? And without clearing ? Brother you sef reason am na. Thanks all the same.

All three are nice... I prefer the second one but I have two questions.

1) can't the dent on fuel tank be fixed?
2) can anything be done about the price? I'm a little uncomfortable with it.

I was in a public transport along eleme when I saw this heavily loaded vehicle swaying from one side of the road to another like a drunken sailor. The driver was busy gisting and laughing without a care in the world. The most troubling part was the fact that the security personnel along the road saw nothing wrong with it. Just flag down the man, stretch out your hand, collect your due and wave him on. It's unfortunate.

Without waiting to be told, any sensible person should know that the vehicle is a disaster waiting to happen..

Which way Nigeria?

Education / JAC Unical Chapter Embarks On A 3-day Warning Strike by adahib: 11:32am On Jul 28, 2015
The joint action congress( JAC),university of calabar chapter has embarked on a 3-day warning strike following the refusal of the university management to implement the agreement it had with the unions concerning promotion of members after 3 years, and without promotion exams.

This position was approved by the university council last year, and the management agreed to implement it. After clowning about for almost a year, management decided to promote only those who have done four years without saying anything about the others. The union wrote series of letters, gave ultimatums all to no avail.

JAC had no other option but to embark on a 3-day warning strike. Hopefully, management will react positively just to avoid the impending indefinite strike.

Career / Re: Is It Good For A Boss To Slap An Employee by adahib: 9:43am On Jul 12, 2015
The excuses given by your friend are lame at best but be that as it may, the superior had no right to slap him. There are avenues for disciplining erring subordinates and I'm sure, none involves physical assault.
You said your friend is planning to go retaliate on Monday. Well,if you ask me,I'll tell you that's folly unequalled. If your friend tries that, the lady can swiftly run to court and sue him for assault which in this case, seems premeditated. If your friend had returned the slap immediately it happened( personally I believe say na that one sure pass if you must return slap, immediately grin ), he can later say in his defence that it was reflex... Hehehe...

Tell your friend to go write a complaint to the appropriate quarters. Nothing more..

Politics / Re: Love Can Be Unconditional by adahib: 9:22am On Apr 19, 2015
I guess this is a counter thread to the other one on front page. In that case,OP I believe you are wrong in your analogy. If I may use the example you provided,a mother loving her child unconditionally, that' doesn't hold. The singular fact that the kid is hers is a major condition, and it takes away any "unconditionality" from the scene...

Go back and read that other thread. I believe the Op did a good job there..
