ifyalways: @Nanidee,No im not from Mgbidi but i have friends from there, been there.I believe that Mgbidi in the whole of Igboland is the only place where that culture exist. i'm from mgbidi so let me tell u how this works These days it's been toned down, we dont do the breast exposure thing anymore but my mother did it during her time. its called "ikwezi" or "fattening room" in English. It lasts for 2 weeks, during this time, the girl does not do any work at all. everyone is at ur beck and call for whatever u need. Usually 2 of ur younger female cousins will serve as ur servant gals, anything u want to eat will be prepared for u. there's this red thing called "uhe" which makes the skin soft, smooth and shiny wc u will rub all over ur body. the essence of all these is to make u look beautiful and fleshy for ur husband. On a major mkt day, u will go to the mkt with one of ur breast out cos it is beleived that when old women look at ur breast they'll know if a man has touched u or not( cos u r not supposed to have had sex), so it's not like anybody is allowed to touch ur breast just old women. In the evenings, pple will come to ur compound with drums n all 2 sing for u and u'll dance for and with them(this is the fun part ) and ur servant gals will share coconut and dried fish to them. Any gal that gets preganant without doing this is considered an outcast and I enjoyed everybit of it, I ate so much and didnt do any house work not even picking a pin from the floor and anybody u send on errand, (except ur parents n elders of course) has to go, my brothers were so pained thay had to do all the work and I used to send them on useless errands they'll grumble but my parents'll be like "she's doing her ikwezi so u have 2 go" and the uhe made my skin look like a baby's. I wish i could continue using it afterwards but i can't be looking all red walking about. and that's how "ikwezi" works. |

manny4life: And what is wrong with wearing a suit more than your native attire? Besides, what has wearing a suit got to do with being a U.S. President or British PM? I wonder why people just talk off point at times. Next time, please read carefully before commenting. I read carefully and I see no reason why he should wear suit more than his native attire..he can wear suit occasionally, fine but not more than his native attire. If our president does not promote our native attire who will. This is the reason why we are loosing our culture, we want to do everything like the west, why cant we promote our own and let them copy us. |

Joy1706: What if I'm not feeling the presence of God in his church? Will I continue like that for the rest of my life? I get u totally. adami: It is an issue. yes, we worship the same God but our mode of worship differs. As a catholic I don't see myself worshipping in any other church. I've been to other churches but it wasn't the same, I didnt feel comfortable. There a lot of things the catholic church does that other churches don't do mass, ash wednesday, lent, rosary i can go on and on and salvation is a personal thing, he should allow u worship God the way u feel comfortable with...it's not something he'll force u to do. |

redcliff: when change would come, it would not come from other "mushroom" parties because they do not have the wherewithal to enforce it except a revolution happens. Although I am not in full support of APC but I like the man of Buhari and Osinbajo and I believe that even if vultures surround them, these individuals would stand by their words because they are men of their own. I do not see Tinubu commanding Buhari if Buhari eventually gets in. the quote below is ur reply and the reason why i think Buhari/Osibanjo won't be any better...this was the same thing we said about Jonathan in 2011, he has no shoes ,he understands the masses bla bla bla...if Buhari eventually wins, we'll be clamouring in 2019 to throw him out as we are doing for GEJ now. ttmacoy: Sadly I agree with you. I don't see APC or Buhari as the Messiah. Buhari may have good intentions but the people propping and supporting him are crocks ( tinubu and co) and watching him speak I don't see the fire and drive required to lead a country with so many issues and changes as Nigeria. |

Facility for over a year now, and have never stolen from it even when many of my colleagues do...... not because I have so much, but because I believe in the principle of a better nation that should begin from my small corners...... If i as a citizen, who's salary is barely enough for myself, could do this for the collective good of all.... I wonder why the people at helm of affairs, that their salaries is more than enough won't. ?. And will wanna sap this my beloved nation dry.....
GMB 2015 As much as I despise this government, i don't think APC woluld be any better...I am anti PDP and anti APC,there are credible candidates from other parties for crying out loud..... why are Nigerians like this, why have we opted to pick from the 2 wrongest choices |

PunkyBrewster: Some men would go for all of that over there for no reason other than the fact that she's white. Doesn't even matter if she's toothless & looks like a whale-she's bragging rights. Shamelessness!
Bring that thing to some village somewhere & they'll probably worship her bloated ass. I bet the guy on the pic is proud too. He probably still can't believe his "luck", that such a "goddess" said "yes" to him.. LMFAO. Inferiority complex at its best, going for garbage that no sane person would look at twice, just to make your village ululate when you visit home. perfect example of such men searching4love |
