Crime / Court Sentences Tiktok User To 3 Years Jail For Defaming Eniola Badmus by adamusuleiman1: 8:26pm On Apr 04
Nwakaego Okoye was convicted on Wednesday, April 3, after she pleaded guilty to the charge brought against her.

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State has convicted and sentenced a TiKTok user, Nwakaego Okoye for defaming a Nollywood, Eniola Badmus.

Nwakaego Okoye was convicted on Wednesday, April 3, after she pleaded guilty to the charge brought against her.

She confessed to have defamed actress Eníola Badmus because a friend, Fortune Ibe, promised to pay her N200,000 to do so.

However, for being remorseful, Justice Oweibo gave her the option to pay the fine of N150,000 in lieu of jail time, saying that her action contravened Sections 24(1)(b)(2)(a)(c) and 27 of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015.
It was learnt that Nwakaego and one Chimabia who is now at large were jointly charged for the offence.

Meanwhile, in 2023, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) said that the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Court had declared Section 24 of Nigeria’s Cybercrime Act vague, arbitrary and unlawful.

SERAP said the ECOWAS Court gave the ruling in a suit it filed before the court, saying that Section 24 of the Cybercrime Act was contrary to the rule of law; therefore, "the Nigeria Police cannot charge anyone with cyberstalking based on the provision of Section 24."

“The ECOWAS Court has ruled (in the suit brought by SERAP) that Section 24 of Nigeria's Cybercrime Act is vague, arbitrary, and unlawful.

“So, it is contrary to the rule of law for the police to charge anyone with supposed "cyberstalking." Section 24 is INVALID," SERAP stated on its Twitter page.

Even in America that's very advanced, Hillary Clinton was clearing all the Polls and Donald Trump won the election. It's tomfoolery to think a Nigerian that even has less internet penetration and advanced polling system would be any thing close to reality.

Same with Nigeria's 2023 election. Peter Obi was clearing all the polls, but he eventually came 3rd behind Atiku and Asiwaju.

From the channels interview, others are being affected as well. But they were the one sending text messages to Wike telling him in the text that he hates ibos.

Hence Wike replied and called them ethnic jingoist and land grabbers.

The common region being impersonated are people from the SW, SS, and North

The message is clear. Be proud of where you are from. Stop impersonating people from other region.

Politics / Edo Refinery Receives 15,000 Barrels Of Crude From Oza Oil Field by adamusuleiman1: 2:51am On Apr 04
The Edo Refinery has received a total of 15,000 barrels of crude oil in 2024 for production from the Oza Oil Field operated by Decklar Resources Inc. and Millenium Oil and Gas Company Limited.

The Chief Executive Officer of Decklar Resources, Sanmi Famuyide, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, noted that the company has continued ongoing crude oil injection volumes into the Trans Niger Pipeline for transport to and export from the Bonny Export Terminal.

The refinery was developed by the Edo Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited and was facilitated through a Memorandum of Understanding between Governor Godwin Obaseki-led State Government and AIPCC.

It is a 6,000bpd capacity plant, which is being expanded to 21,000bpd.

He said, “We are very pleased to announce the significant milestone of the first crude oil exports from the Oza Oil Field through the TNP and Bonny Export Terminal. In addition, crude oil is still being trucked to the local refinery customer in Edo State.

“The restoration and continued operation and availability of the Trans Niger Pipeline connection between the Oza Oil Field and the Bonny Export Terminal and delivery and sales of crude oil to the local refinery has allowed Decklar and Millenium to deliver a steady stream of crude oil to market and to generate a continuing revenue stream.

“With continued revenues, the Company’s financial position will improve enabling progress with additional field development activities including re-entries and drilling plans. In addition, the approximately 8,000 barrels of crude oil Decklar and Millenium previously delivered to the Forcados export terminal is expected to have a vessel nomination in the next few weeks with export and sales coming thereafter.”

Noting that the crude oil produced from the field is sold to Shell Western Supply and Trading Limited (Shell), he added, “Crude oil production from the Oza Oil Field through the TNP to the Bonny Export Terminal is being sold to Shell Western Supply and Trading Limited (“Shell”). Crude oil held in storage at the Oza Oil Field and crude oil being produced into storage tanks from the Oza-1 and Oza-4 wells is being transported by truck a short distance in-field to the transfer pumping station at the Oza Oil Field for injection into the TNP.

“The first crude oil export cargo of 15,000 bbls to Shell has loaded on board a vessel with a bill of lading date of February 7, 2024, with sales proceeds expected in the last week of March.

Decklar and Millenium are expecting another crude oil export nomination notice from Shell before the end of March 2024 for the export of another 15,000 barrels of crude oil currently held in the Bonny Export Terminal tanks.”

I know seeing those name was an heartbreak for a Nairaland tribalist like yourself.

Anyway, that aside, ibos are the biggest tribalist in Nigeria. Fact.

Your tribe is the only one that even discriminated against itself. You majorly dislike Ebonyi people and won't rent houses to them or easily do business with them.
Aba residents rejected a man from Anambra from being made mayor.
You often call some enugu people and Ebonyi as not been full Ibo.
To crown it all, Peter Obi would not even let non Anambra ibos hold elective positions in the state up to market level even.

How can I also forget the caste system.

The killing of a pregnant Fulani woman and her kids. Her offence? She is from the north.

The list is endless.

Infact it's even advisable so that there'll be competition.
An average Igbo trader is not scared of competition and will always figure out strategies to beat his competitors.
trust me if cement license is made public today, it'll fall to 2k or less because an average igbo man will enter the business and bring it down through competition.
An igbo man won't mind selling cost price just to retain a customer then with time start putting profits gradually to the buyer and before the buyer knows this, they're already hoodwinked with the seller.
you'll be wondering why they're patronizing only him.
some will say na juju but na strategy.
come to any igbo dominated market, there's something we call lines.
you'll see more than 100 shops selling the same thing in serial but trust me an average trader in that line has their customers and makes huge sales daily irrespective that they're all selling same thing.
till today most people don't understand how igbos pull this off.
it's not arrogance but tactics.
so sweetheart other tribes are free to enter trade but don't cry when the competition becomes stiff oo.
you wan follow igbo man compete for business?
i ga etikwa anya m anya m oo
Thank you thank you. We saw this in the move nwa boi story on Netflix. Good movie by the way.

Anyway, I will wait for the feedback from FAAN.

Nobody stopped your people from moving around and exploring. Nobody tied your umbilical cord to your enclave.

BTW, the biggest beneficiary of one Nigeria is Lagos State and South West by extension. With Lagos built to power everything else in the country, it means the state will remain the most important state in the country.
The western region was doing extremely well before some majority zikist Ibo soldier scattered everything, then Ironsi, another Ibo created his unification decree to further destroy any good left of the country.

Nigeria actually pulled the progress of the southwest back by a lot. They never even wanted Lagos to be the capital, hence awolowo premier of the western region asked for the capital to be moved elsewhere and the Western region will contribute to help build the capital in a different location.

Ibos are still the biggest benefactor of this contraption called Nigeria. They are always free to move back to their region instead of acting like victims all the time.
