CareerRe: Offshore Oil Worker, lets Meet Here by Adbash: 10:07pm On Aug 10, 2014
majekdom2: hehehe , thats the more reason you shouldn't ask such questions. you check for what offshore activities involve and then build upon the skills required.... dont think anyone can get you a job without necessary skills on here . I responded because I hate to see dumbness!
See as u are showing d dumbness of d highest order urself. Who is asking u to get him job on offshore. I just need firsthand clarification in that respect to enlightening some dudes like u who know nothing but claim to know it all. For ur info, I have a career prospect building already and offshore is not on the list.
CareerRe: Offshore Oil Worker, lets Meet Here by Adbash: 9:25pm On Aug 10, 2014
majekdom2: yes , they catch fishes ..... is offshore work included in any of ur course of study ?
As it is neither included in all most the course of study of all engineering disciplines.
Dude u know nothing about engineering disciplines and d question wasn't directed to u. #olodo rabata#

ocman: Offshore life is pretty interesting, challenging in some interesting and nostalgic manner. It is a working environment that comes with a lot of sweet and sour mood swings you would always love to relish both. It is a second home to us here because we spend half of year on this atlantic ocean with people who are related to us by blood. As i write now from Gulf of Guinea, i am in joyous mode because i would be going on time-off tomorrow (two weeks completion eminent).

Such a night as this, the personnel going on time-off the next day usually sing this song, "one more night" as they wind down the day's activity. I am also praying that the weather is clement tomorrow so that there won't be any delay in chopper arrival by the expected ETA. I can't wait to see my family. When you miss them much, the sour mood comes handy; and lots of other reasons that makes us moody. Example, when you miss your alcohol too much, mehn! you go wan deactivate. lol! Offshore work is very awesome and interesting. It is a nice place to work! It stretches your imagination, expands your thinking and engineering abilities. It is a place, i can say almost all, if not all engineering disciplines converged. It is a melting pot of some sort in that regard. The first time i landed here, i was like "wow". This is lovely, seeing live all what i have heard and read happen before me live and direct really left me with a great sense of accomplishment. I felt that aura of a real engineer in the making...lol.

In my early days here, i was astonished at how complicated and intertwined the whole platform was, i saw that all aspects of engineering was represented. One of such days, i was less busy, i took it upon myself to write out the engineering aspects that were represented in the offshore work. To my greatest surprised i couldn't pick an engineering course that was wanted. Aeronautic, marine, subsea, chemical, electrical, biomedical, mechanical, computer, civil, metallurgical, just name. I really felt so proud and happy to have chosen this field. Mind you, we have administrative officer here; so Art inclined graduates could handle such a position but a chemical engineer is our admin officer. Trust engineers (ubiquitous and versatile species).

Here, there is superfluity of food. buffet twice a week, tea break twice per day, and snacks points around the designated points on the accommodation platform. Beautiful sick bay managed by experienced and beautiful nurse and a doctor. I can't type more now maybe latter. A lot of experience and just a lot to say but it worth experiencing them by oneself. I need to go and pack. Missing my sweet family........

bye...........sinings* one more night, just give me that one more night.....................lol
Please do they employ Agricultural Engineer especially Soil and Water Engineer to work as an Engineer on ofshore too?

Gwan2: I sooo hate diz RUSSIANS n dia policies, mind u nt becoz i lov d Americans either....Below are d reasons 4 my hatred.
1...We gat an epidemic threatenin d existence of humanity in d name of Ebola..América at least are showin som concern by experimentin drugs to save humanity.....wer are d russianz ?

2....We gat trouble in d middle East, eventhough d Americans cant b trusted b atleast dey hav bin initiatin peace talks frm Cairo to Quater ....wer are d Russians??

3....Atleast Obama called African leaders to a summit of recent to help African Economy (eventho is kinda lng overdue)...wat haz Rússia done 4 Africanhuh

4...USA showed concern to Nigéria by sendin Itz military personnel 2 help brng bak our galz.(wasnt successful bt dey showed concern at least)...wer ar d Russianshuh

5...ISIS are busy islamizin n terrorizin Iraq n killin d Non muslims n Non shiate muslim.n also expandin dia bordas to syria..US Juz send 2 fighter jet to com help doz helpless civilians.....wer ar d RUSSIANShuh

6...A Black man is d president in USA...dat can nvr happen in Rússia,as it has 1 of d highest Racism expecially to d black race...

7.....Check out most World inventions Innovations, creations, Originality, Concept Ideas etc....and i bet u wil tank God 4 makin d Americans d world Superpower

Wat d Russians do is jus sit n wait 4 any pro-America move, so dat dey wil counter dat move weda gud or bad.....
All the latest USA concern about Africa especially Nigeria is to checkmate China emerging economy in Africa continent. USA felt threatened by China rising economy in Africa.
Foreign AffairsRe: Russian Nuclear Bombers Keep Roaming Closer To U.S. Airspace by Adbash: 1:15pm On Aug 09, 2014
drchingy: Surprising how everyone is so eager for US to fall
So yall think d world will be better wit Russia or china as world power.
Yet they are d ones to d rescue whenever d game is up
Currently d yazidis n Christians are being slaughtered in Iraq
How came to d rescue?
Nope not Russia. .n nope not china
Its d mean bad Americans again. .
Yet nobody ever appreciates them.
When they dont interfere in conflicts d world will say y didn't America come to d rescue but when they do d sad people will say they interfer too much. .
Putin is funding a war against Ukraine wit out any provocation but these people cant seem to see any wrong in that.
Some people's moral compass sef
You failed to mention that Amerian is supplying Israel with tanks and firepower to kill women and children of Palestines. Who created chaos situations in Iraq and Libya then and turned them against one another. I am damn sure it wasnt Russia neither China bt your messiah USA.
I thought USA was going hard on Bashar Alhasad of Syria then and wanted to strike him but kept mute after Russia interferred and didnt see support of David Cameron. Ameria can never go to a full scale war if they know that countrylike Britain, France, Germany and the likes wont support her.

RomanceRe: Nigerian Ladies Worry Over Scarcity Of Men by Adbash: 1:39pm On Sep 07, 2013
Kirinwa: As a caring nairalander,my advice to our single sisters is treat any man who approaches you nicely and respectfully.
Guys can you imagine approaching a lady to say hi and she's looking at you like you're ALIEN!Jeez. Some of them are architects of their own misfortune.I have discovered most times ladies hang out with playboys and sacrifice the future for a few meatpies or fried chicken while ignoring more serious guys who they consider boring without even giving them a chance.
You just hit the nail on the head. They always prefer the playboys at the expense of good ones and will later be crying to God for a good husband after letting go or even turning the good ones to playboy in order to get their attentions. May God answer thier prayers sha. Ameen

CareerRe: How Your Temperament Affects Your Career Choice And General Performance. by Adbash: 2:25pm On Sep 05, 2012
spicy v: Lol, you are definitely an introvert. You actually think you aren't one because you are loud when you are around close friends but if you were in a room with total strangers would you go all out to make friends or you'd rather observe?

Mel/Phel aint a bad combination. You'd be really reserved, cool and calm. You are a thoughtful person, very sensitive and detail oriented. Your friends will describe you as someone who takes things really personal and that is because θf your highly sensitive melancholy nature. You are highly suspicious, have trust issues, very laid back and very into your world. Also very stubborn, you will act like you are listening to what is been said when you are told what you don't like but will silently go back and do what's in your heart. You are a faithful, reliable and dependable friend with high morals and perfectionist tendencies. See! Not bad at all.

Just so you all know, there's a thread in romance section with title "temperament N love". Duke and I are looking at temperament and its role in relationships. Expecting your input guys, see y'all there.
Wow!!! You've said it all as if u've been watching me since d day I was born. Everything u wrote above is nothing but absolute truth and I will work on them as u said by getting closer to out going people just that I don't like starting a conversation with strangers. Thank u so much.
CareerRe: How Your Temperament Affects Your Career Choice And General Performance. by Adbash: 6:04pm On Sep 04, 2012
@Spicy lo: kudos for u. I think I have dominance of Melancholy(70%) with Phelgmatic(30%). Bt I'm definitely nt an introvert 'cos I do open up a little when I'm with a very close friends. Is that a bad combination?
CareerRe: Agricultural Engineers Forum: Lets Meet Here And Share Our Experiences! by Adbash(op): 8:47am On Apr 21, 2012
Take soil and water but that doesnt mean that u will work in soil and water engineering coy. U may end up in Power and machinery or even processing firm. My advice as a broda, take d one u've talent for that will boost ur CGPA at d end of d day.
CareerRe: Agricultural Engineers Forum: Lets Meet Here And Share Our Experiences! by Adbash(op): 7:59am On Apr 19, 2012
It would have been power and machinery bt Mechanical Engineers are venturing into that line too and dey are also a big players there. Though Civil Engineer dudes are into water resourses bt Agric Engineers are d biggest players.
CareerRe: Agricultural Engineers Forum: Lets Meet Here And Share Our Experiences! by Adbash(op): 9:27am On Apr 08, 2012
Yeah it is an option under Agricultural Engineering bt some universities offer it as a separate course.
CareerRe: Agricultural Engineers Forum: Lets Meet Here And Share Our Experiences! by Adbash(op): 11:16am On Apr 06, 2012
Agricultural Economics is a branch or specialization under Agricultural Science. It has nofin to do with career in Agricultural Engineering. Hope this helps?

Walexz02: Wao! am vry pleased to hv come acros ds educatve thread, plz I realy need a gud advice on my carer in Agric Eng. though I luv d course as an ND holdr 2 b,bt I nid advice on where to cros to after my ND, I wntd to go for Farm power:but seeing situatn oe thngs in Nigeria 1 as 2 b vry careful in selectng any cours I a gud advice 4rm my coulegues.I luv Agrib.Eng.
You don't really need to worry about that now. Before u can talk of specialization it will be in d advanced stage of ur education i.e Masters level. Bt at undergraduate level u may ask to choose some optional courses in either soil&water engr, power&machinery or processing and storage engr. Bt in some school, u will do all d courses it is only ur project dat will be in either of d specializations. Hope dis helps.

jekomo1: Hi, I also studied agric engineering . I graduated 2010, I love the and i can die for it . Please follow the advice of ur lecturer,he knows more than u do and as for the man that comment on this . See is only in Nigeria that will abuse good thing ,agric engineer is far better than mechanical in the world but its otherwise in Nigeria . Am not saying this to console myself becos am not in that line now,but I will still go into it . Agric engineer is the best course that one could ever studied in life . Thanks
Yes, U're right. But Nigeria factor is pulling us down from d zenith that will belong. Also d successful ones(Agric Engineers) that supposed 2 be championing d campain and be of help are no where 2 be found. Imagine graduating with a best result still strugling 2 get a job even after passing all sort of psychometric tests. If I actually follow my Prof. advice, I will end up in academics. Thank u guys (both in support and against) really appreciate. More comments and ur experiences will be highly appreciated.

I studied Agricultural Engineering and I graduated in 2009. I'm thinking of changing career to pure Mechanical Engineering bt my Prof. is advising me not to because of my excellent background in Agricultural Engr. What is ur experiences out there in terms of job and career.
CareerRe: Subsea, Mud, Reservoir, Pipeline, Petroleum, Drilling Engineers & Supervisors Zone by Adbash: 3:53pm On Mar 13, 2012
Remii: Do not get confused, the first thing you need to do is get good grade from school. All engineers are employable in Oil & Gas industry with good grades you can become what you want if you really want it and ready for the challenge. Companies do train their personnel to be able to carry out specific tasks.
For those asking about IWCF, getting it is one thing but competence in well control takes more that holding paper because the risk of mistake due to incompetence could cause loss of lives and multimillion dollar property damage. So I advise undergraduates to concentrate on finishing your school with good grades and be ready for an opportunity. You need experience to be called consultant or get registred for IWCF or WellCap certification test in the first place.
Dr. Ferg and all d pros in d house I hail u. I'm a graduate of Agricultural Engineering wit 2.1. I'm very much interested in taking career in drilling engineering or reservoir engineering. How am I going 2 do it i.e wot should be d first step (I'm interested in d career nw nt money). Thanks 4 or help
