I was billed 900k for avascular necrosis surgery as far back as 2014 in a public hospital in Lagos. Private hospitals were costing 4m for same procedure. Our dollar rate was still 160. Imagine the cost of same surgery now. Go to oncology, cardiology, renal, maxillofacial departments and be amazed at figures for certain procedures. Even in a government hospital.
