I would like to invest 1 million naira in blogging. This money will be spent on the blog over 1 year by when I expect the blog to start bringing return on investment and become self-sustaining. Personally, I feel 90 percent of the money should be spent on content and seo. Since there is no urgency to see return on investment, I believed with enough quality posts, free traffic should be high after over 2000 quality and seo optimized articles...

I'm busy with my blog, I'm a webmaster and will build it myself. Also, you might have a good idea without being tech savvy, no problem, I will train you but the ideas has to come from you. Though installation is easy, as it's a cms based package. Alternatively, you can approach Amadeus for their solution too. Finally, the solutions above are white label solution, if you don't have the funds to get it, you can join travelstart affiliate. They will give you a copy of their booking form which you can place on your website. If you techy, it's in iframe so you can plug it in and start selling flight on your website. I would like to invest in blogging, I am a webmaster and usually busy with projects, I am trying to decide on a price considered ok enough for writers to write for my blog. I am afraid of bidding too low or too high, I need a mutually beneficial rate that will keep both parties happy based on the popular rates most blogs pay writers. I would like suggestions, please.


I am already thinking about 5-8 kobo per word. Any advice, please.

Seo is overrated, content is king. I read a lot of Seo articles, invested time and money, in fact I use services that charge monthly for keyword and back links analysis, at the end of the day, if you don't have a good content, it's a waste of time.

I would rather spend money on content, unique content, than seo. Do you know that most people target low competition keywords (long tail), before you knew it, that same keyword becomes high competition and the person with great articles for the keyword will rank better.

Secondly, Google ranking algorithm considers traffic, age of domain, spread of domain, length of article before looking to how well the article is structured (seo).
So many factors that it's better to just focus on giving your audience great content and let Google decide the importance of your article via visitor engagement and how long you can keep running the site (domain age).

On my websites, I have articles that were super optimized for search engine ranking, but I discovered that most my articles that rank first are the one I wrote purposely to solve a problem for my visitors not to rank.

So sad right now. I felt betrayed. The contact in question is a close friend. Should have invested the money since last month and even got a better rate. This guy begged me, Had to put the cash in fix deposit for his sake cos he needed it to safe his ass, with an agreement that it will be terminated by first week of October to meet Up with Wednesday tb bidding. Sad part is, he's the one in charge of tb so I think it's a deliberate mistake. My confusion is that the fix deposit has been terminated and the money already in my savings account, so I don't know why he would do that. In fact I got so worried, had to call him this weekend and he said I'm not the only one, that many people have not been debited. Thank God I ask here, I mostly don't ask questions here cos I felt I had an edge with an insider.

Anyone yet to be debited by stanbic? My account officer keep telling me stanbic 364 bid was successful yet I have not been debited. Please house, does it takes this long? I don't have the stomach for patience right now, rate is really going down and I want to lock in something good before it too late. Already thinking of going for secondary market on Monday but my contact at stanbic keep telling me I will be debited cos the bid went through. Any advice please please please...
