Career / Re: Is It Advisable To Inform My Boss About My Intention Of Starting M.sc Programme? by adeboolusegun(m): 1:03am On Jul 10, 2016
Wao...this is a nice post.
In last 3 months I was in your shoes and was tough for me to make a straight decision. I got a job at experiential marketing agency as a data analyst under 6 months probation. Although I studied Agricultural extension and rural development but the knowledge of final year research and Research methodology and personal development in data helped me a lot. To cut the story short, I had already registered for the master even before service ended and I had one organisation that was ready to give me 200k for the program due to some analysis I did on a project during my nysc in Niger state.(VSO IMA4P). I got a job after I returned to Lagos and after a week I got admitted for my MPhil program in ife. seriously it is not an easy decision to make. Do I go for masters and drop the job or vise versa. Am on probation remember for 6 month before staffing. At last, I explained to my boss and he glandly told me to combine the two. this was his statement... common guy...scholarship is an opportunity don't miss it. You are an analyst and u have proved your worth...we will send you data through mail...analyze and send back to us... You can only visit work when necessary. Don't miss the opportunity. He knew I wanted to go into lecturing so he saw d passion for academics in me. I deliver greatly in my job with no complain so he backed me up. Although am a consultant to his plantain plantation. Neglect typos...ba3 low...no edit.

Education / Re: Understanding The Scrapping Of Post Utme by adeboolusegun(m): 6:39pm On Jun 03, 2016
This situation is called policy discontinuity. Nigerian governments are full of changing policies like destructive interference...Let me tell u something, if putme is scrapped then opportunities opens for those who can afford special centre for jamb. It is highly sardonic that our government has to change things like chameleon without considering it adverse effect on the economy as a whole. I don't know of any other school but for OAU, I don't think this will work because putme is the only way forward to pick the best out of the multitude of applicants. There are other ways to this;
1. Make it mandatory for all universities to have their form sold not more than 1,000 naira.
2. Since all putme is now online, all universities should deploy technology that could help access examination anywhere u are.
3. All universities in Nigeria should set their questions within Nigeria curriculum.

4. Finally jamb should give admission to the students not the university responsibility.

PUTME has significant impact in measure students capacity and excellence even he/she had been admitted. Else this new policy will in no time enters the region of a bemudal triangle.

BATCH C CALL UP NUMBER IS OUT
I learnt Call Up Number has been sent to email of
all Batch C prospective members who paid 4k
into NYSC account, but those of us who felt we
can travel to our various schools to get the
number and have our letter are deprived of getting
it just like our colleagues who paid 4k. in fact, a
friend called to tell me that the Call Up Number
was sent into his mail box 10minutes after
making the payment. I now see that Karl Max is
right when he was discussing about inequality.
We finished together in school so I see no reason
why call up number cannot be send to all
prospective corps member. I know that they are
trying to favour those who have paid indirectly so
that they can start the underground runs using
the number. Deris God!!!

Romance / Last Advice To The Relationship Parasites. by adeboolusegun(m): 9:17am On Dec 26, 2013
LAST ADVICE TO RELATIONSHIP PARASITES

Love i says is a mutual concept and not a parasitic relationship, it is an enjoyable
trends and not an endurable situation, it is sharing and not always single giving.
Even the Bible says "this is my commandment that ye love one another John 15:12",
so why the hallucinating statement "Love you more than you do" all because what
you wanna achieve is to b a parasite in a relationship. Ladies who like or love a guy
because of his money is trending on the part of destruction and if u stop not, then it
is very very close to you. Any lady that conne guys at first, it appeared to you as
fun, you conned guys because u thought it was a game, which you will always win
and you never stop thinking that along the cash and giving out your body in return
what else the guys lost. Now that you will know soon then you can imagine its no
fun nor game. You think you are superstar conner but this time, even though you
won, you have lost for no guy will appreciate you except those guys of your cabar.
The Bible says women re helping hand for the men so that confirm the practice of
egalitarianism. Make your relationship real, tell your mind and declare your stand.
Stop the fun and embrace the reality because equity love is the best. This will be my
last writeup for the year as an advice for all female players. ADEBO OLUSEGUN
OLATUNBOSUN, WISHING ALL NAIRALANDERS MERRY XMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR IN ADVANCE.

Education / Share Your Experience During Your Project Defence, graduates. by adeboolusegun(m): 8:38am On Oct 30, 2013
Some said during his/her defence in a final year project it was. ethics, Tedious, hell etc. This can be because they face alot of Doctors and Professors at the round table waiting to ask questions with their Satanic looking faces and with a giant voices . Students began to shake and panic assuming the ground will open and get them swallowed. While in reverse some students laughed out of the room because it was "luckily Successful" maybe there were no Doctor's or professors on sit, or his/her supervisor defended the project as questions were asked. In fact, it might even be because all the lecturers on seat were all tired or are joke master so have nothing to trouble you about. so all they said was "Goodbye". I am sure the graduates in this forum will surely have smt to share with the upcoming graduates and who knows, it might be the situation waiting. Pls share your testimony. lolz!!!.

Education / How Do You Learn And What Type Of Learner Are You. by adeboolusegun(m): 9:24pm On Sep 25, 2013
YOU HAVE TO KNOW YOUR ABILITY
YOU HAVE BEING INTO LEARNING RIGHT FROM THE DAY U WERE
BORN INTO THE WORLD AND YET TO THIS PRESENT TIME YOU
HAVE FOUND IT DIFFICULT TO DISCOVER YOUR LEARNING
ABILITIES. FOR THE LITTLE KNIWLEDGE AND THE RESEARCH I
HAD MADE,I CAME ACROSS THESE THREE TYPES OF LEARNING;
1. VISUAL LEARNER:- THEY LIKE TO READ AND ARE OFTEN GOOD
SPELLERS. THEY MAY FIND IT HARD TO FOLLOW ORAL
INSTRUCTIONS, OR EVEN LISTEN,UNLESS THERE IS SOMETHING
INTERESTING TO WATCH. WHEN THEY STUDY, THEY OFTEN
BENEFIT FROM GRAPHIC ORGANIZERS SUCH AS CHARTS AND
GRAPHS
2. AUDITORY LEARNERS:- BY CONTRAST,LIKE ORAL DIRECTIONS
AND MAY FIND WRITTEN MATERIALS CONFUSING OR BORING.
THEY OFTEN TALK TO THEMSELVES AND MAY EVEN WHISPER
ALOUD WHEN THEY READ. THEY LIK BING READ ALOUD TO. THEY
BENEFIT BY SAYING THINGS ALOUD AS THEY STUDY AND BY
MAKING TAPES FOR THEMSELVES AND LISTENING TO THEM
LATER. THEY MAY LISTENING TO MUSIC AS THEY WORK.
3. KINESTHETIC LEARNERS:- THEY LIKE TO STAY ON THE MOVE.
THEY OFTEN FIND IT DIFFICULT TO SIT STILL FOR A LONG TIME
AND WILL OFTEN TAP THEIR FEET AND GESTICULATE ALOT WHILE
SPEAKING. THEY TEND TO LEARN BEST BY DOING RATHR THAN
OBSERVING. KINESTHETIC LEARNERS MAY WANT TO WALK
AROUND AS THEY PRACTICE WHAT THEY ARE LEARNING, BECAUSE
USING THEIR BODY HELPS THEM REMEMBER THINGS. TAKING
NOTES AND MAKING FLASHCARDS ARE IMPORTANT WAYS FOR
REINFORCING KNIWLEDGE FOR THE KINESTHETIC LEARNER.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO LET MY READERS KNOW THAT I STUDY AND
RECAP,SO I REALISE THAT I HAVE BEING LEARNING USING A
MIXTURE OF STYLES STATED ABOVE, ALTHOUGH I MAY HAVE A
DISTINCT PREFERENCE FOR ONE STYLE OVER THE OTHERS. NOW
FOR THOSE WHO SEE THESE AS AN IMPORTANT FACTS FROM
LITTLE GUY LIKE ME,TRY WHICH IS YOUR DOMINANT STYLE,BUT
BE OPEN TO STRATEGIES FOR ALL TYPES OF LEARNERS.

Politics / 2015: Buhari To Contest APC Presidential Primary by adeboolusegun(m): 2:15pm On Aug 11, 2013
His loyalists said that despite the anti-Buhari lobby in
the APC, the general would contest the primary.
We have gathered that the anti-Buhari lobby in APC is
made up of two groups. The first group consists of
senior Northern politicians who want the general to bury
his ambition in order for a younger northerner to
contest the presidential primaries. This group is also said
to be shopping for a guarantee that the general will
support whoever emerges as the presidential candidate
of the party.
The other group consists of members of the party who
feel that the former head of state is not popular in the
South-East, South-South and some parts of North-
Central.
Top officials of the party confided in our correspondent
on Friday that the mega party was worried about
Buhari’s unpopularity in these regions. The officials said
the states were too crucial to be toyed with.
One of the senior members of the party, who pleaded
anonymity, said, “We have realised that it will be a
Herculean task to convince a majority of the electorate
in the South-South, South-East and even some parts of
North-Central to vote for the APC if we field Buhari as
our candidate.
“You will recall in 2011, he did not perform very well in
the South-East, South-South as well as Plateau, Benue
and Kwara in the North-Central. He is not so popular in
those areas. We are looking for a nationally acceptable
candidate. Hence, the move to make him step down.”
Another APC top member who spoke on the condition
of anonymity with our correspondent, said, “We know
that the general is popular among the talakawas
(ordinary people) in the northern part of the country.
“We also know that he is still interested in the race
based on his pronouncements. But we also believe that
he has tried. He needs to allow the younger ones take a
shot at the ticket.
“But if we prevail on him to discard his ambition, will he
be ready to work for whosoever emerges as the party’s
candidate? That is the dilemma we are in now.”
But Buhari’s supporters are insisting that he must be
allowed to take part in the party’s primary, and that he
will support the winner if he doesn’t win.
Former spokesperson for the CPC, Mr. Rotimi Fashakin,
said only the members of the APC could determine
Buhari’s fate.
He said, “Some people are afraid of Buhari and that is
why they are flying the kite. We know he is going to
contest the primaries and he may be the candidate of
the party.
“We all know that democracy is a game of numbers, if
that is the case, let us wait and see what will happen
during the primary. The general’s popularity has not
waned.
“Those mounting pressure on him not to contest are
those who are afraid of him. They know that he means
well for the country and not for the pulse of a few
people.”
Similarly, the CPC governorship candidate in Enugu State
in 2011, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, said if Buhari could pull
12 million votes during the 2011 presidential election
with a “small party like the CPC,” then he could do
better under a bigger party in 2015.
“That is why we, his supporters, are saying that he
should be allowed to contest the primary with other
candidates. Irrespective of his age, he is still strong. He
is not corrupt, he isn’t a religious bigot and he doesn’t
care about where you come from.
“We must also know that GMB is an asset to the party
anyway. He has a “vote bank” through which he could
draw come 2015.
Buhari, 70, has run for the office of the President three
times and, on all the occasions, was defeated by the
ruling Peoples Democratic Party candidates.
In 2003 and 2007, he ran on the platform of the ANPP
and was the presidential candidate of the Congress for
Progressive Change in the 2011 general election.
