Mkpunando Otu and chairman of Anambra East Traditional Rulers’ Council, Igwe Alex Edozieuno has urged the Anambra State Government to intervene in the settlement of Fulani herdsmen in Anambra West because their presence has continued to generate tensions in the area.

Igwe Edozieuno said even Anambra East local council is not spared in moments of crisis because the herdsmen do not distinguish between the boundaries of the two.

Igwe Edozieuno narrated how the two local governments of Anambra East and West were attacked by the herdsmen last weekend.

He said : “They crossed from Anambra River and the first people they saw were at Ezu-Agulu Otu in Anambra East where they killed two people: one an Anam indegene and another person of Abakaliki indegene thinking they were fromc Anambra West.

“It nearly caused a war between Aguleri and Anam people until there was news that they killed other people at Mmiata.

“So, our saving grace was that the herdsmen got to Anambra West and killed other people”.

Igwe Edozieuno also narrated how the rulers from the two local councils were nearly detained when they honoured invitation of the Commissioner of Police until Igwe S. O. Nnose of Ifite Anam volunteered to identify his subjects who provoked the attacks in the first place.

In all, five people were killed and several others wounded, he said.

Abuja has been the capital of Nigeria for almost going to 30years now and yet it can’t boast of more industries than Ogun state.

The oil boom in the past 30years should have made Abuja the highest revenue grossing state in Nigeria going by the analogy of these mentally handicapped guys online.

I’m the last statistics, Ogun state still generates more IGR than Abuja and yet some fools think Lagos is what it was just because it was a former capital.

No one is taking the effect of being a former capital from Lagos, but that state is what it is because of the proper planning and foresight of its leaders. Lagos State has been the pioneer of major reforms in Nigeria and it’s just plain stupidity for people to belittle the state effort.

Rivers state should have been in the status of Lagos with its oil and vastness but they have not been able to get reformist leaders like the Lagos connection.
