Maybe you should go and read about the history of Ilorin! The Emirs are always Fulani. He is a brother to the present Emir. Don't mind the Yoruba middle name. That is normal with Ilorin Fulani

Exactly a lot of Yorubas need to study there’s a difference between yoruba and Hausa Muslim & difference between yoruba Christain( largely Pentecostal) and south east Christain ( largely Catholics)

What Adams is fighting for is oba of Ilorin, not the narrative in your head. Ilorin is a religious city dominated by islamic religious scholars mainly Yoruba's.
The fulani Domination is a figment of your imagination. In the the reality it is the Yoruba's that have erased the traces of Alimi descendants in Ilorin. Even the current emir is a yorubanised Fulani named Dr kolapo.
I can bet you can't identify a single Fulani if you get to Ilorin today

Debola call a spade a spade
Ilorin is under Fulani occupation

What are people saying sef...

The Gambari in his name is only paying homage to the fact that their lineage had their roots to the Alimi and Fulani conquerors... But today there's no real Fulani in Ilorin. In their traditional system of government, they still keep the Heritage that's why they use Seriki, Emir etc...
The same Ilorin has families that belong to Afonja Lineage. It's just a mixed land. They are more Yoruba's than Fulani's. Remember Kwara United was once called Afonja Warriors before being changed to Harmony Boys... If you doubt go to Ilorin today and start speaking Fulani...

So till today it's either Ilorin Afonja or Ilorin Alimi...

He’s actually a pure stock Fulani no need for long story he’s the emirs brother

Politics / Who Killed Adaka Boro? - How Azikwe Destroyed The First Niger Delta Republic by Adefatima: 4:57pm On May 12, 2020
On February 23, 1966 Boro declared the secession of the "Niger Delta Republic":[4]

"Today is a great day, not only in your lives but also in the history of the Niger Delta. Perhaps, it will be the greatest day for a very long time. This is not because we are going to bring the heavens down, but because we are going to demonstrate to the world what and how we feel about oppression. Remember your 70-year-old grandmother who still farms before she eats; remember also your poverty-stricken people; remember, too, your petroleum which is being pumped out daily from your veins; and then fight for your freedom."

Please note this , Ibibio is no longer an ethnic group from Calabar .
It is an Akwa ibom ethnic groups also
Philip Effiong before he died later rejected and Biafra outright because our elders lambasted him and for taking side with the Biafran soldiers to killed thousands of our peoples but he apologized seriously and told our traditional elders that he was betrayed , disappointed or used and dump by the Igbo.

So in a nutshell we are absolutely against Biafra and and the Ibibio is from Akwa ibom State .

Politics / How Eastern Region Sacked Eyo Ita The Original Winner Of Election by Adefatima: 4:28pm On May 12, 2020
Why was Eyo ita sacked from power

WHAT HAPPENED TO:
PROFESSOR EYO ITA
LEADER EASTERN REGION

After Nigeria's independence, Azikiwe was Governor-General (1960-1963) and President (1963-1966). In 1966, a military coup ended Azikiwe's term as president, and the NCNC dissolved in the following turmoil. The NCNC was accused by its adversaries of focusing overly on the interests of the Igbo population.

Having been ousted by Awolowo from becoming the first Premier of the Western Region in the famous carpet-crossing saga (of 1952), Azikiwe went to the East and ousted Eyo Ita …

The bitterness generated by that single stroke of political injustice was at the root of the attitude of the Eastern minorities in the bloody disputes of 1966- … the first blame must rest squarely on Azikiwe …”. Aladinma went further to apologise “on behalf of our fathers to the people of the Niger-Delta for that wrongdoing that ruined the brotherly relationship we had from time immemorial”

Now to the matter of Azikiwe - Eyo Ita face-off:On the eve of the 1951 elections in which Azikiwe contested for a seat in the Western House of Assembly from his Lagos base, Zik declared that he was not going to accept a ministerial post in “an inferior legislature of the colonial type”.

In other words, he was not prepared to serve as minister (premier or prime-minister) at regional or national level in the then premature Nigerian political system. His object, he said, was to achieve an NCNC majority in the regional and central legislatures that would act to “paralyse the machinery of government” and lead to a reformation of the Constitution. The Macpherson Constitution had provided for “semi-responsible government” at the centre and in the regions.

The official phrase was “responsible government within defined limits”. Zik did not accept this. He wanted total independence. This was what informed his declaration above. It was a grand tactics for national independence that the Action Group later imbibed.

After the upheavals in the Western House of Assembly,Zik began to rally his partymen to the achievement of the above-stated objectives. This took some time. Eventually, however, the NCNC resolved and called its central ministers to resign in order to actualise the above independence strategy.

But these ministers were now enjoying their new stations in life, the perquisites of ministerial office. Some of them did not, therefore, want to give up the positions. In so doing, they were undoubtedly sabotaging and delaying the independence struggle that had already got them to where they were.

Three NCNC central (national) ministers were the first culprits and were summarily dismissed from the party. They were A.C.Nwapa (Igbo), EniNjoku (Igbo) and Okoi Arikpo(Ogoja).

ONLY Dr Endeley (Cameroun) was supportive of the tactics.Eyo Ita, the Head of Government Business in Eastern Nigeria and some of his ministers kicked against the policy and were flabbergasted when the central ministers were dismissed by the party. Of course, when the party asked them to resign, they equally rebelled against the party and refused to comply. They became known as ‘sit-tight ministers’.

Amongst them were Eyo Ita (Ibibio),E.I.Oli (Igbo), S.J.Una (Ogoja), R.I.Uzoma (Igbo), S.W.Ubani-Ukoma (Igbo) and S.J.Koripoma (Ijaw). Those who complied with party directive and resigned were Dr.M.I.Okpara (Igbo), M.C.Awgu (Igbo) and S.T.Muna (Bamenda, Cameroun).

With the above ‘sit-tight’ attitude of some of the ministers, Which they had their reasons in other to enable the Minorities have a representation in Government, it behoved the legislature to orchestrate the requisite action to paralyse government business, which was practically in the hands of the British Lt. Governor. In the Eastern House of Assembly, the NCNC majority subsequently succeeded in paralysing the constitutional system by voting to defeat or defer every bill before the House. As a last resort, the Lt. Governor was obliged to use his reserve power of legislation, the ultimate proof of colonial rule and subjugation in a politically advanced dependency, to pass the Regional Appropriation Bill into law.

Ultimately, the Macpherson Constitution proved unworkable and collapsed as Zik had planned after 15 months of its operation and was replaced with a new Constitution (the Lyttleton Constitution of 1954) that granted residual powers to the regions and provided that apart from the Regional Governor, colonial officials of the administration would be excluded from the Executive Council of the Eastern and Western Regions, amongst other favourable provisions.

Meanwhile, with the collapse of EyoIta’s government in May 1953, a new election was conducted to elect new members to the Eastern House of Assembly. Azikiwe was elected from Onitsha; NCNC dominated the House and its leader, Azikiwe, assumed the office of premier or head of government.

Eyo Ita as leader of the minor party in the House became leader of Opposition. For details of these historical facts, see Richard L. Sklar, Nigerian Political Parties (1963), pages 115 – 140. Amplifications of particular points can also be gleaned from James S. Coleman, Nigeria: Background to Nationalism (1958).

Given the above prognosis, would it be wise and correct for anybody to claim that Zik or the Igbo conspired to oust Eyo Ita from power? Or that the constitutional crisis that terminated EyoIta’s government was tribally motivated? But this is the verdict or notion that has been transmitted from generation to generation in the South-South.

Can anyone tell how Eyo Ita Died

YorubaHero12:
First of all, you guys need to know exactly why most Igbos are hellbent on annexing the South-South (ND) ethnicities into their Biafra. It is a game plan that have always been in the mind of the Igbo decision makers since inception and they don't necessarily draft the SS people into Biafra based on true brotherhood.

To give you a better account. In May 12th 1953, Azikwe gave a speech when the Northern people were murmuring secession and was bragging with the resources of the Eastern people as his bargaining power.

Below are some excerpts from it that showed why exactly most Igbos are trying so hard to annex SS:
—In my opinion, the Northerners are perfectly entitled to consider whether or not they should secede from the indissoluble union which nature has formed between it and the South, but it would be calamitous to the corporate existence of the North should the clamour for secession prevail. I, therefore, counsel Northern leaders to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of secession before embarking upon this dangerous course.

—It may lead to economic nationalism in the Eastern Region, which can pursue a policy of blockade of the North, by refusing it access to the sea, over and under the River Niger, except upon payment of tolls. It may lead to economic warfare between the North on the one hand, and the Eastern or Western regions on the other, should they decide to fix protective tariffs which will make the use of the ports of the East and West uneconomic for the North.

—You may ask me whether there would be a prospect of civil war, if the North decided to secede? My answer would be that it is a hypothetical question which only time can answer. In any case, the plausible cause of a civil war might be a dispute as to the right of passage on the River Niger, or the right of flight over the territory of the Eastern or Western Region; but such disputes can be settled diplomatically, instead of by force.

https://www.blackpast.org/global-african-history/1953-nnamdi-azikiwe-speech-secession/

Brethen, the above is the major reason why they wanted to annex the South South ethnicities into their fold. All the bargaining power Azikwe used were resources of the SS'ner minorities. However there is one more thing that later came up to make them want these ethnicities more, that is Crude Oil.

Ask yourself, if the seas and crude oil were to be in the Igbo lands of SE, will they ever try this hard to bring the SS'ners into their folds? Will they try hard to even add them to their maps? Will they show the same brotherhood they are showing? SS have oil and seas, but yet some Igbos always feel superior to them, let alone changing the situation to SE having the oil and seas. Just imagine.

I know you will ask what is the Yoruba cup of tea in all this, but this country and forum is intertwined, what affects one affects everybody.

Peace.

Yup the main reason you don’t see yoruba annexing minorities is cause they don’t need them

They have access to sea from port novo to ondo state
They have land mass the size of Greece and a 45-50m population

I am not done with you yet. Let me show you why I made mention of the fact that Oil was motivation for the war. Below is a paper from the Biafra Sun News Paper in May 30 1967. This is the place where Ojukwu Indicated that Biafra Crude Oil production output stood at 364,000 barrels a day. Do the math for the calculation of what a barrel sells for then and multiply by the barrel per day.

He made mention of Biafra having a port of international repute- Port Harcourt Bonny Bar which is Biafra oil loading base and he mentioned that it was dregged to enable it take ocean going vessels.

I am just using this to justify my earlier assertion of the Oil and Seaport as being a major player in any Biafra agenda either in 1967 or in the future. The minorities and their land are very important in Biafra and without them Biafra as an entity will not reach its potential. That is why Ojukwu and Kanu both tried and trying to make sure they are added to Biafra.
