asha 80: adapalm actually generates 2m monthly for the state if i am not mistaken.
2 M monthly? That is stupendously poor for a state enterprise, and equal to what an individual above average trader generates per week.

THE Yoribos/ofemanus do not engage in any sport, but rather in looting public funds. They are so good at this that they can loot the entire US federal reserve faster than the speed of light! grin

Ogun discovers N231m fraud in ministry

A N231 million fraud has been discovered in the Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

The fraud, which has been perpetrated for about three years now, involved some officials in the ministry in connivance with some principals of public secondary schools.

The avenue the suspects used to fraudulently drain the government purse was the payment of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) fees by government.

The government, as part of its free education policy, pays WASSCE fees yearly for all final year students in public secondary schools.

But the suspected principals and their collaborators in the ministry dubiously inflate the number of their students to enable them collect the excess amount after the government has paid the total amount.

Based on a tip-off, the government set up a panel of inquiry to investigate the issue and recommend appropriate sanctions to prevent recurrence.

The Panel Chairman, Abdul-Fatai Opebiyi, told reporters in Abeokuta yesterday that a total of 3,571 "external candidates" were discovered to have been fraudulently added to the list of the legitimate students.

The panel chairman added that apart from the amount discovered, various sums of money were also found to have been held illegally by certain officials of the ministry.

Opebiyi, who is the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Strategy, explained that the panel had recommended appropriate sanctions against culpable officials and suggested ways of preventing future occurrences.

Responding, the Head of Service, Mrs. Modupe Adekunle, congratulated the panel members for the successful completion of the assignment and expressed optimism that their recommendations would be adopted to the letter.

Outside Nigeria yes. But within, few if any Nigerians publish any really strong research work. They have not been enabled by the unhelpful research funding system and overall poor infrastructures.

T8ksy: Verbal agreement ke? It will be interesting to know what exactly is this "verbal agreement", Awo

is alleged to have had with the ibos.

Where and When was this "verbal" agreement arrived at?
This is 2013. Awo is dead and long rotted. The main crux of this thread is the new betrayal of the North by a SW senator. Very soon Yerima will be singing of how much the guy was paid.

PoliticsRe: Sw Senator Betrays The North by Adejoro74(op): 11:41pm On Jul 22, 2013
Prof Corruption: Lol! If you claim there is an agreement, you provide evidence that such exists. Without evidence, it could be either way-"there is an agreement and there is no agreement". Who do you trust in that instance without an evidence?
You are right. N/theless, it just means that anyone doing deals with a SWner should have a secret tape recorder and a lawyer to doubly document and legalize such deals. History keeps showing they can never be trusted not to betray a gentleman's (aka verbal) agreement
PoliticsRe: Sw Senator Betrays The North by Adejoro74(op): 11:30pm On Jul 22, 2013
Prof Corruption: Lmao! Agreement nuanced? It's you that's turning logic upside down. What's logical and reasonable is a documented pact that can be referenced. Is Aliyu not telling GEJ that he signed a pact now? Is he saying the agreement is "nuanced" or based on words of mouth or body language?

If an agreement is not documented, anyone anywhere can claim there is one? How do you verify such claims? Do you go to court and say God is your witness to enforce such agreement?
Verbal agreements are a matter of trust.

If you had removed your Yoruba lens, you would have seen the agreement. It is glaring to the N, S and Igbos

One and the same. Just different nomenclatures. ''Gov'' was title given by the Brits as they were preparing leaving Nigeria. ''Premier'' is title of head of the indigenous govts of the different regions of Nigeria after independence.

I equally like the flat landscape of the state with its lush green fields.
Quite right. Abakaliki rice is actually now being exported.
