Nigeria’s economic challenges may be far from over as Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday said the size of the 2017 budget was not big enough to make a significant difference in the nation’s economy. He put the figure of the 2017 Appropriation Bill yet to be presented to the National Assembly at about N7trillion.

Osinbajo who is the Chairman of the Economic Management Team spoke during a tour of some firms in Sagamu, Ogun State on Thursday.

Remember when JAMB earlier promised to scrap the use of scratch cards? Well, we can now confirm that the board has now officially effected the scrapping of use of scratch cards, and has further redesigned it's portal to cater for the new changes.

The change is really here! All previous scratch cards have now been invalidated. So if you previously had any scratch card, USED or UNUSED, you can no longer use them on the new portal. Even if you would like to re-print your result slip or JAMB admission letter, you will need repay to do that. If you initially saved the document somewhere, good for you. All Myschoolers, who requested this service through us however, are immune to this, as you can always log into your account here and re-print for free.

With the new system in place, candidates will now be required to have internet enabled ATM cards to be able to print their JAMB result slips, Admission letter or use any e-facility. Parents can also help their children make payments, BUT if you have more than one Child, you will need to choose which of them you would like to purchase a service for, as 1 account can only process services for 1 JAMB registration number. This simply means if you purchase JAMB result slip for JAMB registration number 12345678AB, you can purchase JAMB admission letter and other services for only 12345678AB. It is therefore advisable for candidates themselves to create a JAMB account using their emails and phone numbers, right from Registration (From 2017 UTME).

As for scratch card vendors, cafe operators, business centres, the new JAMB system has been designed to limit or totally prevent multiple requests from different JAMB registration numbers. You will therefore have to find alternatives or maybe register as an accredited JAMB centre. Whether or not this restriction will be lifted to allow candidates, who don't have bank account an option, only time will tell.

The portal seems to still be under construction, as we see some facilities are either not yet active or contain certain errors.

Some of the systems currently described above may change as the 2017 UTME registration draws closer, but until then, JAMB no longer uses scratch cards. Period!

He also slammed the members of the House of Assembly, accusing them of “ineptitude, mediocrity and slave boys of a reckless and lawless governor”.

“Most of them, who are drop-outs, were picked from herbal homes and on the streets, so we are not surprised that they have turned themselves to market place jesters as against what they’re elected to do,” he added.

Governor. David Umahi of Ebonyi State has again told Fulani herdsmen that movements of cattle from one place to another in the state would no longer be tolerated. Umahi, while inaugurating security committee on Fulani herdsmen in Abakaliki on Friday, expressed outrage over the flouting of his earlier directive on the matter by some herdsmen.

A statement on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Emma Anya, quoted him as saying: I frown very deeply about seeing cattle still going around in Ebonyi State. I gave a directive that no cattle should move around. Cattle should be in one location. Their owners should go and look for food for them.

"Yesterday (Thursday) when I went to the new city (Centenary City) where we just planted flowers and trees, I saw cattle all over the place. I asked my ADC to go and see if one leaf was eaten by any of the cattle, because, I would personally order the arrest of those people.
Let me warn and warn very seriously. I don't want to see cattle moving up and down in Ebonyi State." The governor told the committee which has some Fulani herdsmen as members, that he feared that the cattle could pose a serious threat to his administration's agricultural programme.

He added, "You can see our land is almost occupied with agricultural activities. If the Federal Government is asking us to feed ourselves and cattle are moving up and down, how do we continue with that?.
"I have been an advocate that Fulani people that have been living with us for over 60 to 80 years can't be asked to go because they are our brothers and sisters. They have to live with us. But I warn that even if an Ebonyi man has a cow and the cow is moving up and down, I will resist it.
"So, is not a question of where you come from, it is a question of our policy in this state. How do we achieve our one-man, one-hectare agricultural programme If cows are still moving up and down."
Governor Umahi however said the government was ready to assist the herdsmen in whatever form to make them keep their cattle at designated places.

He added, "If there is assistance that government will offer to our brothers and sisters to keep their cattle in one place, I will do so freely. But I will be very angry to see a cow on the rice farms that we have laboured much. We borrowed N2 billion for rice plantation. It will break my heart to continue to receive calls that cattle are destroying our rice farms."
Appealing to communities not to chase away Fulani herdsmen away, the governor called on the cattle rustlers to keep their cattle wherever the communities give them.

" Let us co-exist; let us live together with love. We are one people. Nigeria cannot be a great nation, if we have ethnic problems and hatred for one another. We can freely exist any where we find ourselves," he advised.
The Augustine Nwakwegu-led committee on herdsmen also comprises some members of the state Executive Council, some traditional rulers council, the commissioner of police, and the Nigerian Civil Defence Corps.

Linda made the announcement in a blogpost saying she’s creating 4 new brands – an online TV network (Linda Ikeji TV), an online radio station (Linda Ikeji Radio), a music website (Linda Ikeji Music), and something called “LIS”. All these brands will be under a huge Linda Ikeji Media brand.

the acronym ”LIS” as spurred some form of debate online, as people guessed the S stands for School, Siblings, Series Show, Secrets, Stickers, Station, Scholarship. Someone even suggested LIS might mean Linda Ikeji Sings. Even Nigerian Comedian Bovi partook in the game by saying S stands for Sacrifice.

The guess is over now, as Linda Ikeji junior brother Peks Ikeji who is now a producer, uploaded a picture inside Linda Ikeji Studio. he captioned the pics “I have made a lot of people celebrities”
