For those who recently did passport submission at VFS, what other documents are required asides PPR letter & Passport.

Note that biometric is still valid based on previous application and as such, no BVL was issued.

Is Walk-in still allowed or i have to book an appointment for submission?

Yes, i did. Maybe that's where the issue lies.

However, i later obtained multiple visas from the country in question and have since travelled with it. I stated all this whilst filing the form.

I am currently filling the online application for a visa renewal having previously visited Canada twice. On getting to the document upload section, all the requirements from the previous application were still listed contrary to my expectation of it being treated under CAN plus with just few documents required.

In Nigeria, Tax Clearance Certificates are issued on preceding year basis and this usually covers the last three years (i.e 2022, 2023 and 2024 in this instance). Hence, it poses no issue if it is used for any official purpose including visa application. All the best.

Please quick question, please is etax certificate the same thing as TCC, cos what I got from LIRS shows my tax remittance for the previous years. I asked about that of 2025 and they said TCC shows only previous years

I was thinking it will be better to show a transaction history that shows that I’ve been paying tax all year but there’s no official statement like this on the portal
Do you think the TCC is enough or I need to get a supporting documenting?

If the visa is still valid and you have previously used it for the said conference, there won't be any issue using it for tourism purpose this time. All the best.

Hello. I need an advise as to this regards. I have a valid 3 years Canadian B1 (Business-Visitor) visa which is a conference visa (used). With a valid 5 years US visa. I hope to visit Canada soon for tourism purposes, is it advisable to apply again for a V (VISITOR VISA)

For airlines that do not need transit visa, you can consider Air france, KLM, Lufthansa, Qatar airways, Ethiopia amongst others.

Notable tourist attractions in Toronto includes CN tower, Niagara falls, Eaton centre, Nathan square, Ontario art gallery as well as many other parks. It's an exciting tourist location and i'm sure you will enjoy your stay.

For winnipeg, i can't really say as i've not visited the city before. All the best

It doesn'ttake more than a week to get your passport stamped with visa. In some cases, it takes few days.

I have a 5year US Visa, so I applied based on my CAN+ eligibility with just about 2 documents.
However, the whole promise of a shorter visa approval date wasn’t the case. It took almost 2months.

If I send my passport to them for the visa, does it usually take time as well? I wouldn’t want to submit my passport and be tied down. Pls do you know how long it takes on the average to receive your passport back?

Finally.. 2 months later and BVL received last night . PPR this morning..

I will advise that you submit your passport to IRCC first to have your visa stamped so that the 30 day rule for submission won't elapse since they are yet to respond to you. Once the visa expires in september, you can renew with ease since you will be eligible for CAN plus by then and also get a longer visa duration as you will doing a fresh biometric scan. All the best

I would appreciate your guidance on an issue regarding my recently approved Canadian visa. I applied for the visa in February and received approval in April, along with a request to submit my passport. However, I was informed that the validity of the visa would be tied to the expiration of my previously submitted biometrics, which is set to expire in September 2025.

Unfortunately, I was unaware that visa validity is linked to biometric expiry. I had assumed it was based solely on the passport’s validity. When I submitted my application, I received a notification stating that my biometrics were still valid, so I did not attend a new appointment—even though I had already paid the biometric fee.

Upon realizing this in April, I wrote to IRCC on April 4 to explain the situation and to request a new biometric instruction letter so that I could complete a fresh biometric submission and potentially extend my visa’s duration. As of today, May 1, I have not received a response.

Could you kindly advise if this delay is normal, and what next steps I can take to ensure my request is addressed?

It shouldn't take that long to get a feedback from them. I will advise that you check with VFS office. All the best.

It depends. It could vary from few hours after submission to 24 hrs.

It's finally PPR for my wife and I. I woke up this morning only to receive the good news few minutes afterwards.

Application Submitted: 3rd Oct 2023
Biometric Completed: 20th Oct 2023
PPR: 14th March 2024

Travel History: USA, UK, UAE, South Africa and currently in possession of valid UK visa.

On the CBN trade portal, there is an option to add documents. Click on "ADD" and then upload the TCC and name it as such.

The time frame for visitor visa is not defined as it is at the discretion of the visa officer handling your application. However, if you have a valid US visa, your application may be treated promptly.

I don't think it really matters. When i applied about three weeks ago, I uploaded my naija letter of employment there due to space constraint. I am still awaiting feedback on my application from IRCC.

However, I properly labelled the file as "Letter of Employment in Home Country".

Hello House, I’m scanning and uploading documents on the portal for visitor visa. On the section where it says “Employment Letter (Current)” I notice that they are asking for a Canadian employment letter maybe for those applying for a work visa. I don’t know if I should upload my local(Nigeria) employment letter/business documents under this section as the space for additional documents would not take other documents which I intend to upload like accounts statement and property documents because of the 2MB file limit.

That's all..try getting there 15mins before ur appointment time..
And don't listeen to all those guys downstairs..
They ll try to sell consent form to u and some others things u don't need..
A consent form will be given to u free of charge when u get inside the hall..
