Politics › Re: Afenifere Reacts To Peter Obi's Emergence As Atiku’s Running Mate by adeolu21: 6:35am On Oct 13, 2018 |
wideawaken01: The Pan Yoruba Group, Afenifere, has reacted to the emergence of Peter Obi as the running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has pleaded with Atiku and Obi to remain steadfast in its restructuring message.
The National Publicity Secretary of the Afenifere, Mr Yinka Odumakin said: “All we concerned about at this stage is there were commitments by Atiku about the restructuring of Nigeria.
“If it is true that he has picked Peter Obi as his running mate, he should join him to work out clear cut programme on restructuring and ensure that he remains steadfast on that because that is the main issue that will determine the next election.”
The group had earlier found a way to reconnect Atiku with his former boss, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. Atiku was Obasanjo’s vice president for 8 years while the latter presided over the country between 1999-2007. The visit to Obasanjo was the first time the former president would meet with his former deputy since the latter emerged as presidential candidate of the PDP. Though Obasanjo had in the past vowed not to ever support Atiku’s long nurtured presidential aspiration, the former president has unbent upon his even more harsh assessment of the incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari.
Meanwhile, before the announcement of Peter Obi, the national chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, recently met with Atiku alongside other party leaders to determine a running mate for the 2019 presidential candidate in a bid to appease the Igbo people.
The PDP presidential candidate, Atiku received a heavyweight endorsement on Thursday as his former boss and adversary, former president Olusegun Obasanjo, bowed to pressure from the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, and blessed Atiku’s presidential aspiration.
Obasanjo, during a reconciliatory meeting in Abeokuta, brokered by the Afenifere, said he had forgiven Atiku and stated that given his personal knowledge of him, he had better capacity to perform better than the incumbent, President Muhammadu Buhari.
The meeting was witnessed by the Catholic Archbishop of Sokoto Dioceses, Bishop Matthew Kukah; Founder of Living Faith Church, Pastor David Oyedepo; a leading Moslem cleric, Sheik Ibrahim Gumi; and Afenifere leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, among others. The endorsement, which immediately drew the reactions of the presidency and the Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation that dismissed it as a distraction and non-event, appears to be reshaping the battle for the presidency in 2019 as it indicates the realignment of political and religious forces in the country.
The involvement of the religious leaders, Daily Advent learnt yesterday might indicate the direction the two leading religions and their dominant denominations are looking. With Bishop Kukah of the Catholic, Oyedepo from the Pentecostal flank and Gumi, a Moslem cleric who had been politically vocal, in the mix, the paper’s analysts suggest there might be a coalition against the re-election of Buhari, whose reign had been mired in massive killings both faiths’ faithful by gunmen largely suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
The political forces, Daily Advent also learnt are gathering behind Atiku against Buhari, largely because they see his three and a half years in the saddle as the most divisive of the nation in its 58 years of independence, fearing that another four years for him might push the country over the precipice.
Atiku’s endorsement by Obasanjo, according to sources close to the emerging coalition of forces, is said to be the outcome several months of pressure on the former president to drop his opposition to his former deputy, who many of the political leaders estimate is the most viable politician that could unseat Buhari.
Daily Advent learnt further the club of retired military generals, including Ibrahim Babangida, Muhammed Gusau and Abdulsalami Abubakar had been working on Obasanjo to shift position on Atiku, telling him that unless he did, Buhari’s chances of returning to office would remain bright given the deep division in the opposition parties.

Dont feel.bad about yourself for wanting consider it normal its your body. 2. Reduce your Masturbation to twice a day 1 when you wake up and one at night. 3. Drink lot of water as it helps to increase your sperm due to fact that you ate an addict and this means your sperm count is getting low 4. Try reducing indecency thoughts 5. Keep yourself busy during the day Number 4&5 are part of the solutions. But if you are capable to marry, then do it. That will b the complete solution. U will always reserve ur energy for ur spouse. |

Tundeobama: Just received this now: Good morning, sir. I received this message this morning from a Muslim friend. I know he sent it to me by mistake. Pls, lets circulate to all our christian brethren in all platforms. ************************ Assalamu alaikum Muslim brothers and Sisters. This is a clarion call to all of us in OSUN state, to listen and listen attentively. Another election is here, and as we always do, we must remind ourselves the following: 1. Our religion is superior to Christianity, therefore, we must vote for another son of ours in Islam- "Omo Iya wa ninun Esin Islam". Remember how Aregbesola propagated Islamic agendas in Osun state for the past 8 years. Remember how he favoured us in employment, promotion, higher rank in the civil service, secret interest free loan for Muslims etc. He did all this for us because of the religion of Islam. 2. A Christian governor will undo everything that Aregbesola has done for us all. If Omisore wins this coming governorship election, we all are in trouble. Maybe all of us didn't know that Governor Rauf Aregbesola brought Akeem Lasisi from Ibadan, Oyo State when there was no person who can beat the record of Prof. Olaitan, a Redeem Pastor in Osun State, and appointed him, Prof. Akeem Lasisi as the Chief Medical Director for Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH), Osogbo over Prof. Olaitan a Redeem Pastor. This CMD Lasisi has done so much for us. The numbers of Muslims Doctors and Nurses has gone higher in Lautech during his time. You can imagine if one Professor Olaitan of Redeem Church is our CMD as it should have been, we wouldn't have such numbers of Muslims brothers and sisters working in Lautech, neither would we have such numbers of Muslims medical student in LAUTECH, because they wouldn't have even gain admission. The same thing is applicable to School of Nursing to mention just but few. 3. A Christian governor will undo the following. 1. Mosque in all our public schools most especially Christian Public Schools. Aregbesola allowed that we build mosque in all christian public schools. 2. He even allow promotion for Junior Muslim staffs so that Muslims can be Principal and Headmasters/Headmistress over their christian counterparts, the opportunity Christians doesn't enjoy. 3. Muslims opportunity in SUBEB over the Christian. A christian governor will undo all the opportunities Alhajis and Alhajas are enjoying in SUBEB. WHAT WE MUST DO TO WIN THIS ELECTION. 1. Don't sell Gboyega Oyetola Ilerioluwa to Christian as a Muslim even though he is a fanatic Muslim and Alhaji. If you notice it, we con his name to look like a Christian name, so that Christians will not notice. Sell Gboyega to Christians as a Redeem Pastor so that we can have all the Votes of Redeem members. Don't let us deceive ourselves, their numbers are alarming, and if they vote for Omisore, a Christian, he will win! 2. Any time you hear that meeting is going on in the mosque tonight, leave what you are doing and attend. Bring as many that doesn't have Voters card including visitors. We have made necessary plans on how they will all are going to vote. 3. Whenever you want to vote, and the card reader doesn't recognise you, most especially on OMISORE'S major grounds, don't worry, vote, we have made arrangements on how that polling boots will be handled. We will send another rounds of message tonight again. Do whatever we instruct you in all messages you receive. THIS ELECTION IS NOT ABOUT SDP, APC, PDP, ITS AN ELECTION BETWEEN ISLAM AND CHRISTIANITY. WE MUST KEEP ON RULING OVER THEM. IT'S OUR BIRTH RIGHT! NEVER AGAIN WOULD CHRISTIAN RULE IN OSUN STATE. MAY ALLAH BLESS YOU ALL. SIGNED - ALHAJI OYETOLA - ASSOCIATION OF MUSLIMS OBAS IN OSUN STATE. - ASSOCIATION OF ALL IMAMS - ASSOCIATION OF ALL MUSLIMS PRINCIPALS AND HEADMASTER/HEADMISTRESS - SUBEB, OSUN STATE. - LAUTECH CMD - OGBENI AREGBESOLA - PRESIDENT BUHARI. N.B : Under no circumstances should a Christian read this message. #Forwarded as Received# My dear brother, this is a fallacy. Politicians have been using either religion or ethnic to gain sympathy votes to themselves. Dnt let anyone brainwash you. If you are part of the ppl that want to cast their votes today, just go there and vote for d candidate u believe he will move ur state forward. |

RevenGeMission: And for you to work for government and earn 18k per month it means you have SSCE and you are the messenger , 18K IS NOT BASIC SALARY , IT IS MINIMUM WAGE
also when PDP and Jonathan was selling crude at ~$150/Barrel, they didn't ask for it , now that the economy is recovering from reccession and massive developmental projects are ongoing is when they want to strike , This has PDP's fingerprint all over it , but it's not my business
I'll hope NEPA , Police, DSS , ARMY , Water corporation, Hospitals and everybody else joins the strike that way , we can all suffer the consequences , those with relatives in hospital, those in areas where there's no water, those whose street are being protected by police , and when there's no light to watch Dstv or Startimes, everybody's brain will resent
ButterflyLeo , what do you think ? is it a crime to have SSCE certificate? Our president, wat does he have to become a president? PDP aspirant in Osun state, wat does he possess? I kno that u ar nt a government worker, bt trust me if they do increase their salary,it will have great impact in ur business because they will patronize you more. |

Throwback: But with which money do you want to get higher minimum wage, when the N18k that is too small was the best the FG could do when crude oil was selling above $100/barrel?
And the drop in that crude oil price reduced government revenue and reduced state allocations that has led to owed salaries and half salaries in most states with poor IGR?
So with what funds will the FG now pay above N18k? Or is crude oil that is running our mono-economy now selling above $200/barrel?
As for allegations of opposition sponsoring strikes or protests, that has always been the easier scapegoat of blame. if crude oil was selling above $100 per barrel when they increased minimum wage to #18000, hw much did they sell a bag of rice then and hw much nw? Hw much did they sell a liter of petrol/diesel then and hw much nw? They need to generate more income by blocking the loop holes where politicians use to embezzling money and increase their exportation either by Agricultural produce or raw materials. |
