Good evening great minds of Nairaland. Please i need your honest contribution.
I currently work with a private clearing company that pays me weekly allowance of #30,000 - #35,000 and a monthly salary of #60,000 totalling 180 - 200 thousand every month.
However, I was among successful shortlisted candidates of a paramilitary agency recruitment exercise of the FG as a BSC holder.
I made enquiry on the start up pay and discovered is around #75,000- #83,000 for my level entry.
I don't know if i should go for the federal job with a lesser pay or remain with my current job.
NB: Date to resume to the training camp for the FG job is just around the corner.
Honest thought are welcome. �

Honestly there is Job security in FG but then it's a good pay start at your current job, in a nut shell what's your future goal(s) then pick.

For me currently is be leaving soon just got the job I'm bearly 2 months salary is 50k, I spend 400 each day for transportation but I work Mondays to Sundays 10am to 10pm, no time for me, family, even church, I can't even think well, hoping I'd be able to cope my boss won't allow you share your opinion if there is issue "he's always right and give the instructions. I have has a one-to-one conversation with employees I met there they complain of the 10am to 10pm or they under pay them.

By the way this is a company I make 85k to 150k each day in sales that means over 2.9 million cash just myself on sales we are 3 sales representative on the main land and he has another branch in lekki with 3 other sales representative so in total like roughly over 17 million in sales CASH !!! THIS IS NO JOKE HERE.

So earlier last year, my dad decided to go into yam business. The most common in my area kuje Abuja to be precise.

Since we're just starting, we bought seedlings worth of 40k.
We later found out that seedlings are more expensive and scarce during farming/planting period.
We got the land for free
We paid farmers #20 per ridges and we dug about 500ridges.
Meaning. #20*500= 10,000

Total money spent on investment was approximately#60,000 plus running cost.

The farmers were paid 6k to harvest the whole yam.
Those guys started as early as 6am and we're done by 2pm just 3 of them.

Truck that packed it was paid 1k.


Pic 1 and 2, the big size yams we want to sell. Those buyers are pricing 45k

Pic 3 are the ones for home and family consumption. Any remainder would be added to seedlings.

Think we got a lot from our investment in the end.
