To start with, fake news is no news! But also the desperation of passing it on is far more wicked and downgrading of the person/persons involved.

Now, in Ondo state, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, appointed Mr. Kunle Adebayo, a media and public relations expert, and an educationist, who eventually emerged as the Chairman of the OSRC/Orange FM stations.
Adebayo was not only appointed a mega-chairman for the state’s broadcast stations, he was also made Senior Special Assistant to Governor Akeredolu on Research and Documentation.

This is due to his capacity to turn things around for good in this Radio and TV stations, in which he has done and still doing.

So many things were upturned before he was appointed and now the OSRC and Orange Fm is running on full throttle with the expertise touches of Kunle Adebayo.

Not to say much on these baseless allegations, some displaced people in the same government are running the same government down. Starting from some commissioners in Gov. Akeredolu's cabinet to his other appointees. It is obvious that these displaced minded people are the bugs that eating into the Akeredolu led-administration and causing bumps in his plight to develop the state.

Mr. Kunle Adebayo explained that he was a victim of vendetta by those who were opposed to his reform programmes at the OSRC-in line with the mandate given to him by Akeredolu.

He explained his ordeal thus: “One of the highlights was the obvious travesty committed by (the past administration) in staff recruitment, whereby fresh graduates were arbitrarily appointed into the radio service at Level 12 instead of eight that is officially stipulated by government standards.

“Secretaries, based on whom you know, even without any qualification, were employed at Level 13. A director, (was also) appointed freshly, at 50 years of age, without any public service experience and put on Level 15.

“In our panel days, our management hired two reputable management consultants to study the integrity of the personnel recruitment process earlier done. We got a disturbing report which validated our own finding. Of course, this was submitted to the governor.

“At the point of implementation of the panel’s report, we decided to seek a deeper self-conviction. We invited the Civil Service Commission, Office of Establishment under the Head of Service, and not less than one past Head of Service and two retired permanent secretaries for deliberation and advice.

This should be looked into by the Ondo State Civil Service!!

Stop spreading fake news about people who are working hard and thereby showing that the lazy ones don't carry any weight in Ondo State.

Instead, these commissioners and appointees should be cautioned or removed from office because they have in many ways showed their incapacity to run their post.

A 40-year-old man, Mr Segun Oni, who allegedly killed his 33-year-old brother identified as Sunday Oluwadare, with a plank at Adebowale area of Akure, the Ondo state capital, is now in police custody.

The Hope Metro gathered that the incident which happened on Thursday, was reported to the police by one Mr Ilesami Olawale .

The deceased was said to have had a disagreement which led to a fight between him and Segun Oni at Idimango ,Akure.

According to the police report, during the disagreement, which resulted into a serious fight, Oni used a plank to hit Oluwadare’s forehead , who was later rushed to a nearby private hospital.

Oluwadare, was said to have been later referred to the State Specialist Hospital, Akure, where he gave up the ghost.

It was learnt that the suspect, Oni, who earlier took to his heels, later surrendered himself to the police in Akure, following his wife’s arrest.

Police report said the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the State Hospital mortuary, Akure, while further investigations continue.

With barely three (3) days to the 2019 general elections, alarm has been raised over what is called a plot by PDP, Sen Borrofice and thugs to rig and disrupt the polls.

The plot is said to be an unholy collaboration among the trio PDP, Sen. Borrofice and some notorious thug heads to culminate in the declaration of fake results.

According to a source from the same party camp, this may elicit mass protest which the government will attempt to quell with state power. But the PDP, in a swift reaction, said it would not waste its time responding to this claims.

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Atiku has been hatching a plan to tamper with card readers in order to favour himself, depending on its popularity in each of the six geopolitical zones in the country.

Sources revealed that Alhaji Atiku has purchased and has is in possession of telephone-like devices that will slow down the card readers in the three regions where PDP is not the strongest while fast-tracking it in the zones where the party is strong.

This means that a lot of voters will be disenfranchised in the zones where APC is not favoured to win, while voting will be expedited in zones where the party is favoured to win.

“We have just discovered that the PDP has hired many of their operatives and have taken them to China to be trained, and they have been so trained, and they are back, and they are equipped with devices that are meant to slow or fasten our card readers,” Atiku said.

“So, if you are in the South-west, North-East and North-West, you are likely to get your card readers to be slowed by those PDP operatives. We have seen the machines; we have interviewed some of those who have gone on this training, and we have passed that information to the campaign council to pass to you.

“But if you are from the South-South, North-Central or South-East, the tendency is that they will use these machines to fast-track the readings of your card readers so that many of their supporters can vote while disenfranchising the other three zones.

I thought you should know that we have supplied the information to the campaign council, and you will even see the copy of the machine which each and everyone of those operatives is to hold. It is like a telephone but that is its job. I felt I should let you know, and you should be guided accordingly.”

I wish to put on record with deepest joy in my heart, that I have reconciled with My Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu and I am fully ready and set to work with Mr Governor.

My presence at the inaugural meeting of the Buhari/Osinbajo campaign council lats night 30th January 2019 at the Cocoa conference Hall, Governor's Office, Alagbaka, Akure, proves my readiness to work with the gallant Governor of this Sunshine State.

As you are aware, a measure of misunderstanding have trailed the exercise which led to high tempers and an intractable delay in the announcement of our candidate and commencement of our campaigns.

You will recall that I was one of the aspirants of our party who protested the result of the primaries won by Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN. My supporters from all the 18 LGs and I consulted widely and based on facts available to us, elected to seek redress through the internal mechanism of the party designed for such.

Umudara community in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambara has conferred the chieftaincy title of “NNE ORA OF IGBOLAND” (Mother of All) on the wife of Ondo state Governor, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu.

The surprise chieftaincy conferment came during the house warming ceremony of Chief Francis Obi, Ondo State-based businessman and Hon. Mrs Obi, a front line member of the Igbos in APC support group and Ondo State lottery board member.

Speaking with newsmen at the event, the Paramount Ruler of the community who performed the conferment, Ogbuehi Zephnaiah Chukwuka, Ogbuehi Ara XVI of Umudara Ihiala, said it is the community’s way of celebrating a First Lady who has distinguished herself in good works beyond her jurisdictions.
He further said they unanimously conferred the title on her in recognition of her humanitarian works and advocacy beyond Ondo State.

Responding, Mrs Akeredolu, who had earlier performed the cutting of the ribbon into the Obi’s country home, described the conferment as an “ambush” and said it is a pleasant surprise that will spur her to do more for mankind.
She also said the gesture has opened up a new relationship between her and the community and thanked the community for it.

The NNE ORA OF IGBOLAND is the second chieftaincy title bestowed on the Sunshine State First Lady.

It would be recalled that her community, Emeabiam Clan, in Owerri West Local Governor Area of Imo State had in December 2017, conferred on her the apex traditional title, Ada Emeabiam II, in recognition of her rentless efforts to put the community in limelight, and her developmental initiatives in the community.

N500m ‘fraud’: Ondo PDP chieftains’ case to resume January 8

A Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday adjourned till January 8 hearing in a N500 million fraud charge against two Ondo State chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Clement Faboyede and Modupe Adetokunbo.

Justice Saliu Saidu fixed the date following an application by the defendants’ counsel seeking time to respond to a pending application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

At the commencement of proceedings, EFCC lawyer George Chia-Yakua informed the court that this was a preliminary hearing of an objection challenging the court’s jurisdiction to hear the matter.

Chia-Yakua said, nevertheless, the prosecution was ready to proceed “subject to the court’s convenience”.

But defence lawyer Abubakar Shamsudeen said his office received a response to his preliminary objection from the prosecution last Friday.

Justice Saidu granted the defence’s prayer for an adjournment to enable him peruse the prosecution’s response and respond, where necessary.

Faboyede, Ondo State PDP Chairman and Modupe Adetokunbo, the Director-General of the party’s 2015 Campaign Organisation in the state, are facing charges of money laundering.

The EFCC arraigned both men on March 27, 2015, on a three-count charge bordering on money laundering.

It accused them of conspiring to accept cash payment amounting to N500 million, which exceeded the amount allowed by law, without going through any financial institution.

According to the prosecution, the offences contravene sections 16(2) and 18 of the Money Laundering (prohibition) Act, 2011 (as amended by Act No. 1 of 2012).

The defendants pleaded not guilty and the judge granted them bail for N50 million each.

The senator representing the Ondo North Senatorial District, Ajayi Boroffice, has beckoned on Governor Rotimi Akeredolu all leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State to embrace unity and peace ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The senator said it was only when there was unity in the party that President Muhammadu Buhari could win the presidential election in the state and to start he will beckon to the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu to solicit for untiy.

This was contained in a press statement issued by the senator’s media aide, Mr Kayode Fakuyi, on Tuesday, in Akure, the state capital, to commemorate this week.

He said, “In this atmosphere of campaign, it is imperative to admonish all leaders and members of the APC in Ondo State to come together, build party cohesion and work together for the electoral success of President Muhammadu Buhari and other APC candidates in the 2019 general elections.

“There is no denying the fact that there are many issues that have given leeway to all manners of speculations and postulations about crises and disaffection within the APC in Ondo State.

“ However, it is time for all aggrieved leaders, all dissatisfied members, all factional tendencies and all political groups to drop their grievances and come together as a party to deliver massive victory for President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 general elections.

“It is time for all party men and party women of conscience to be guided by the lessons of history. Recent political history has availed worthy lessons that should guide us to create the future of our party. Party members should be reminded that party cohesion was one of the major factors that triggered the great outing of the APC in the 2015 general elections in Ondo State. Without party cohesion, APC would not have been able to defeat the then ruling party in Ondo State.”

The camp of the Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District is in disarray following his wife's alleged assault on Hon. Babatunde Kolawole, popularly known as Amaechi.

Kolawole, a member of the House of Representatives and Borrofice's political godson was reportedly slapped by the senator's wife over minor issue.

Trouble started when Kolawole expressed his mind to the Senator over his failure to help him secure the return ticket to the house of representatives.

Borrofice's wife who was at the house when the meeting was going on allegedly bounced on Kolawole and dealt him a slap for expressing his disappointment to the Senator.

A source at the meeting said "We were very disappointed. We felt so embarrassed for Amaechi. Borrofice literally supervised the assault meted on Amaechi

"His wife was slapping Amaechi in his presence and he could only look on. The wife told Ameachi never to come to their house again and all Boroffice could say was that, Amaechi is finished

"While the struggle of the Reformed APC was going on, Borrofice asked Kolawole to stay with the Bukola Saraki / Dogara led Reformed APC, he himself stayed with the Presidential support group

"He has used Amaechi for so many dirty things. It's a pity. Look at how he paid him back. Amaechi has spent hell on Boroffice, just for his popularity to increase

"Boroffice is a weak man. He lack the leadership character. His wife has been misbehaving to all of us since, we had only kept quiet but the time has come to let him know that he's not GOD."

Another competent source in Boroffice camp said ""How are you expecting Amaechi to continue following such heartless man that only listen to instruction from his wife? He has betrayed that young man and I think he serves our loyalty" the source said.

"I can't be telling how Kolawole wasted millions of Naira on the fruitless ambition of Boroffice in 2016. He even constructed some projects in Akoko and named them after Boroffice in order to boost the political image of his boss.

“I will make Ondo State Ungovernable!” – Hon. Olamide George

Hon Olamide George, in company with 15 other members, spoke to newsmen on Monday at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Iyaganku, Ibadan.
He has further made his move by moving his family abroad so as to flee the country when he finally begins the disarray.

The lawmaker claimed that the impeachment of Hon. Bamidele Oloyelogun and Hon. Ogundeji Iroju, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively, was in accordance to the law and the constitution.

George also said that the impeachment was an in-house exercise which has a constitutional backing and was not targeted at anyone.

Olamide George who has been in hiding, is said to be presently in Osun State under the protection of Gov. Rauf Aregbesola.

George insisted that Oloyelogun and Iroju were not only impeached by 18 out of the 26 members of the assembly but also suspended.

He has called on the IG of Police and President Muhammadu Buhari to wade into the matter or else he will proceed to make Ondo State ungovernable for the people and their leaders.
