@Kizyte, I'm eating fresh tomatoes too. Thanks to you and others. https://www.nairaland.com/3448155/made-first-tomatoes-garden-too#50786792 |
With this I've been so impressed and motivated, there's an empty plot of land beside my house, I will contact the owner and start a farm, I want to do tomatoes and also cucumber. I have bought tomatoes seed online too and some pepper I'll post the pic too. My point for opening this thread is to appreciate you guys here and motivate you more, to let you know you are making impact, I've been looking for time to post this since but always one excuse or the other, I know a lot others too I've been started theirs and some are planning and some are contemplating. Pls there is no better time, just do something, even if it's in a bucket on your courtyard or backyard, Pls do something. I've been eating fresh tomatoes for Weeks now, my neighbors and colleagues at work are also benefiting. I'm saving money and following my passion. So to you my mentors in the house thank you, @Pavore9, I always like your comments. Jethro, kalusam, kizyte, @all. Thanks
|
I tried sack/vertical planting too, I made like 5 cement bags, they do well too.
|
Then the journey started, I've only used 1/2 of my plot for building and the remaining half is idle, I always go through trouble of weeding or spraying, but with this adventure that trouble is no more, but here comes goats trouble as I don't have fence yet. I ask some guys to make vegetable ridges for me but the guy made yam ridges. I had to get someone else to redo it. I transplanted, the rain was in abundance, I managed to weed once, it's not an easy task. Later I noticed some leaves turning yellow, I showed it to a guy, he gave me very small quantity zforce to mix with sniper and spray, that's all. I tried to weed the garden once more but couldn't do two ridges. But thank God they have started flowering then. Fast forward to mid October, I started picking ripe tomatoes. And since then like 2 days interval I've been picking ripe and nice fruits.

First I will like to thank you all Nairalanders, especially the agricultural section from Pavore9, Jethro, lordhugo, organicfarming, kizyte, soloxam, world 1, hybrid veggies, that thai cucumber man (can't remember his moniker) and all others. I started following this section from Jethro tomatoes millionaire thread, then lordhugo cucumber and other experiments, then kizyte tomatoes garden. It was Jethro that first ginger my passion but her regular warning of "start small" and d fear of tuta absolutla slows/caution me down. Then kizyte brought his thread with that his clean garden. Wow, I said I can do this too and I started looking for seeds, I called soloxam for seed but I didn't follow it up but I decided to visit a agro shop in my area, the guy said he does not have tomatoes seed that if it's little I want I should just take from the one my wife wants to use for soup. To cut the story short, I made my nursery July 15 or so, but my first pic was taken July 23

Nice one, very educative and inspiring. |
Happy Birthday sir, I wish you many more of this day in good health and wealth. |
Engr feflo, Weld one bro, a great job you are doing here, I will soon contact you for my 1.5kva ups, meanwhile the man I installed the other smart charger for is enjoying it. Thanks for the good work. |
feflo:@feflo You are the boss bro, I've connected the APC UPS as per your direction and it works. Imagine I have this ups for like 2yrs now but didn't get the connection. I'm super happy bro. Thanks But here I come with more questions : 1. What type of DC fan will I use, is it 12v or 24v and how will I connect it. 2. How will I be charging the batteries, can the type of smart chargers you mentioned work, if yes I believe it's the 24v I will use. Thanks. |
@feflo, Thank you for what you are doing here. Why I asked how many blue batteries is because I'm already using 2 of the batteries with the 650va Bluegate, I connect the 2 battery cables together, red to red, black to black then to the UPS battery cable, but I didn't know of the DC fan. Now that I've learned from you the proper conversion method, I'm thinking of connecting like 6 or 8 of the blue batteries to the 1500va APC. What do you think Sir? |
Hello Engr Feflo, Pls i have a bluegate 650va UPS and APC 1500va I have the blue batteries with the following ratings: LiFePo4 Battery Model: LiFePo4 - 480WH/12VDC Capacity: 480WH Coltage: 9-14.6VDC Charger: 5A 14.6V Please is this type of battery suitable to be used on those converted UPS/Inverter If yes, how many of the battery can be connected to the 650va UPS and how many of the battery can be used on the 1500va APC. Thanks in anticipation of your quick response. |
Thank you so much Zandora and twaintoy. God will bless you guys. |
@twaintoy & Zandora, Thanks for your earlier response, pls I am a Federal civil servant with 10 yrs experience, I have HND in computer science and no certification, although I'm seriously considering some now. My question is on POF, Can I use an account that is not my salary account because my salary is small, less than 100k, and loan deduction also reduce my net pay seriously. So what I'm thinking of is can I start running another account from now till like six months or I can use my current salary account and try and service it a little. Many thanks in anticipation of your kind view and advise. |
Hello House, I will like to commend the moderators of this thread especially Zandora, your contributions are very helpful. Please when i decided to start processing my Canada immigration, i was thinking of emplying the service of a lawyer like Abram Kochak or Cohen but as im following this thread, the whole thing have been demystified. Please my question is do you guys recommend the use of a lawyer or someone can follow through on his or her own. Thanks so much for your contributions guys. you are helping a lot of people. |
http://allafrica.com/stories/201410161218.html Protest in Delta Against Withdrawal of Online Registration Agents By JAMB By Hendrix Oliomogbe Asaba — A GROUP, Delta State League of Online Registration Agents, yesterday protested their members' arbitrary withdrawal as online registration agents by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The agents, who barricaded the state office of the exams' body, said that the new JAMB registration procedure would be difficult for prospective applicants for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). They later marched to the Delta State House of Assembly, state office of JAMB and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). The group's spokesman, Frederick Omene, said that there were over 30 registration centres in the state all of which had been automatically blacklisted from registering students for the examination as a result of the controversial decision by JAMB. Some policemen, who were swiftly deployed to maintain order and peace, had a hectic time as they tried to force the rampaging protesters out of the JAMB premises, pleading with them to express their grievances through the Federal Ministry of Education. According to Omene, the agents were duly registered with N10,000 and authorised by JAMB before they were given access code to operate as online registration agents of the board. He said: "JAMB gave us conditions to register students for the exam; we were told to buy some machines which we bought for 30,000. Later, they came again that we should pay N10,000 for accreditation for them to give access code as authorised agents. Then, JAMB sent e-mail to all the centres as authorisation to register the students." The spokesman further said that the agents, some of who are graduates, have family members who they take care of with the proceeds from the business and have faithfully complied with the rules over the years. "We've been in this business for long. Now, JAMB is trying to take food from our mouth. Besides that, it will pose serious challenge to students in rural and riverine communities to travel from villages to queue up in only two centres in the state to wait for JAMB registration. This is absurd and unacceptable to us," the spokesperson added. Omene, who said that JAMB approved only two centres in the entire Delta State and to be operated by JAMB officials, said the decision would subject students living in rural communities to travel from villages to the two Computer-Based Centres (CBC) in the state to register for the examination.
