Hi guys,
I remember asking about judicial review here. I want to give an update for the benefit of people who might be in that situation.

My cousin going for 1 year MSc, school fees 45k CAD fully paid, living expenses in 6 months account statement submitted both in USD and naira total of 25k USD, no lump sum, newly married but wife not going with him for stronger home ties, yet after all these, he was denied twice with their insufficient finance and other grammar.

From all indications, the main reason why they denied him is that all his siblings are in Canada. He is the only one remaining in Nigeria. They didn't say that is the reason but in GCMS note, the officer noted that point indirectly.

So my cousins here contacted a lawyer and filed for judicial review at the Federal court. Before even getting to the stage where the Judge will grant the Application for Leave, the IRCC lawyer reached out for settlement. Dem no wan face judge defend their decision

So the litigation was withdrawn and after 2 weeks, the gave him PPR. However this cost almost 8k CAD for Lawyer fees to go through that process. Canadian lawyers no get joy for money oooo but it was worth it at the end.

Like I suspected, IRCC sometimes intentionally deny people with other biased reasons different from what they state on paper. This is because they know pursuing judicial reviews is expensive so students would likely keep applying and give up at the end. Fortunately in saner climes, people who do bad avoid going to court cos they know the consequences unlike in Nigeria, people will commit crime and tell you to go to court

If you are denied and you are sure you have a solid case, don't be scared to go to court if you have the money. If IRCC see you have gone to court, they will offer you settlement before it gets to a Judge and you will get a PPR afterwards. IRCC does not want to waste time and money to fight for a case they know they will likely loose so they will rather settle it and move on.

I followed this case because my sibling (last born) is also the only one remaining in Nigeria and coming through school next year. Now my cousin own has worked, I'm now confident my sibling own will work next year if not by normal process then by judicial review.

Got to give this a "like" even though I may not agree with the rather mean words in the opening paragraph directed towards Baye's handler.

CeeC looks like a really mean lady though. She couldn't pretend to be happy to smile and dance on stage last night. She just kept that mean face and barely moved on the dance floor. She may need to really really loosen up.

Adekunle has told venita to stop saying somethings and he has done this many times, he even told her to not say some things about the sponsors. That is the least he can do bcs venita is not a baby that he will be scolding every now and then. In fact I’ve watch where he told venita to stop something and it leads to another fight. Please venita is responsible for herself, it’s not in even Adekunles place to be cautioning her when he’s not the one that brought her to the house.

finally, you are not a fan of Adekunle. There’s nothing Adekunle did this season that the other hms haven’t done worse. Just say the bandwagon jazz touch you and you ported, stop giving reasons that is very watery for your decision. As you leave Adekunle he still enter final bcs of the people that really love him.

Shegzz and Bella are doing well. Doyin is doing well. In short, all the housemates are doing well.

The only person that isn't doing very well is Adekunle. Many people were rooting for him but alas he is a passive person. Things and people happen to him, he doesn't happen to change things. This is all stars, his second chance, and a girl who didn't last more than 4 weeks in his season, snatched this before his very eyes. It just shows people can be overrated, dude is bland. He even had to copy Sheggz's persona this time to give off an interesting personality which couldn't last of course because it's borrowed.

I won't be surprised, if he accepts to be with Venita after the show, he appears effeminate.

However things go, I hope they turn out right for him.

This is absolutely correct, Venita is a major threat to adekunle especially if she survives eviction and make the top 5. It is funny that a lot of Islanders can not see this. If I were an adekunle fan, I would be massively decampaigning Venita without mercy the same way Baye fans cut doyin off sharp sharp. If Venita makes it to the final (this is possible especially if she survives on Sunday ---the housemates would be so shaken she survived that they will not put her up again) she would steal at least 20-30% of adekunle's vote that is a massive amount and it will certainly jeopardize his chances of winning.
