Nteogwuija: The battery was 255,000, 1.5kva inverter was 215,000.
These are Port Harcourt prices, might be cheaper else where.
I use a 580w Jinko panel to power the ba3. And I make sure I don't use the ba3 below 50% before the next recharge.
So when there's no assurance of NEPA light at night, I only use lighting points when necessary, my inverter fan and charging of phone and laptop.
NB: I can use the table top fridge and the washing machine together, but I don't do that because it's just one ba3. So if I'm using one, the other has to be off. However, in the afternoon when there's sun, the 55w fridge can be on alongside the 43inch TV, decoder, and home theater. All these combined only amount to about 20% load on the inverter.
And I do this only when the charge controller shows a float charge. Thanks a lot. With this your setup, you are able to have light basically 24 hours ba, especially all thru the night for fan and charging of laptop/phone? |

Nteogwuija: My 1050kva got affected by lightening and then I bought a 1.5kva 12v. I use it on a 220ah battery. It powers my 105w deep freezer and my 55w table top fridge.
It also powers the 8kg top loader washing machine of 360w.
However, I only run the 55w fridge in the afternoon when there's sun, so I don't stress the battery. The 105w freezer is connected to the mains directly, cut out from the inverter line.
That's how I've been using mine. Both battery and inverter are Su-kam's. Ok, thanks for the information. The installer I asked advised me not to use either of them until I have at least two batteries. That means I can run the fridge and washing machine on the single battery then. How much did you get the battery and the inverter? Also, how many panels do you use? |

icjunior: I think we almost have same appliances/mode of their usage.
The 2*550w panels are fine. Cos I use 2*475w panels. I also use a 2.5kva inverter (smarten) And 2*220ah batteries.
Now what I'm not sure is if mercury is a good good brand.
I don't stay home, leave in the morning to return in the evening,so what I do is use a timer socket to put my inverter fridge(<150w) on during peak sunlight and when I'm back I almost have a full battery that would allow me use the fan and a little of TV before sleeping plus 3hrs more for the fridge.
I even iron in the morning, just a shirt anyways and my battery is always not below 23.8v - 24v every morning.
I don't iron everyday o. I do it mostly on weekends, when there's sunlight ofcourse.🤣 Thanks so much for your response, how has the Smarten inverter been serving you? Is it a good brand? Also, is it hybrid? You mean that when you get home in the night, you are still able to put on your fridge for 3 hours? I never knew 2.5kva inverter can take iron, I was advised not to use iron, dats good news for me. Which brand of battery and solar panel are you using? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by adibo(m): 2:52pm On Mar 14, 2024 |
Parser: Yes. From 8 to 6pm but advisable to get at least a small battery backup, say 1kwh.
But you have to over panel it. Cause most of the energy would be coming from the panel. Like if you have a 3.5kwh inverter & Ur load is 1kwh, you could use between a 1.5-2kwh array or more if your budget can allow. Advisable to get the datasheet of the hybrid inverter so you know how you would properly configure it with the solar- taking input voltage and current & power--- series connection.
Second, you put a DC breaker btwn the array and inverter and transient protector between the inverter and NEPA( u know how NEPA light dey fluctuate) or don't even use Nepa at all and earthening of the inverter or a thunder arrestor on the array.
E.g. If inverter can take array of 500V input, current say 80A and you have each of your array can dissipate 42V, 13A. You have a load of 2Kw. You can use a 4 to 6kw array by connecting your array in series to give like 420v at 13A around 5kw in a perfect scenario ignoring loses. And use a DC breaker that can take 500V and the current.

Good morning all. I want to get an inverter. I have a 32 inch smart TV one standing fan of abt 75w a 120w fridge Washing machine of about 240w Two laptops to charge
The fridge will only be on for maybe a few hours during the day to ensure that my foodstuff don't get spoilt. The washing machine will only be used once a week (mostly during the weekend). The TV will be used mostly maybe 2 hours in the evenings on weekdays and then maybe a bit more during the weekend
So, the main things that I will be using it very consistently for is keeping my laptop charged anytime of the day cus I use it to work a lot while also being able to keep my stuff in the fridge from spoiling
I want to get a 2.5kva hybrid inverter (looking at Mercury inverter which is 406k but I will also appreciate any advice on a very reliable brand that may be cheaper)
I was advised to get two tubular batteries of 220ah (which I have also seen from mercury, 360k but I will also appreciate any advice on a reliable cheaper option)
I initially wanted to get two 550w jinko panels from foauni for a start with a plan to upgrade to more panels but an installer told me that they will not be enough, that I need at least three panels. Pls, is this true?
Please, I will appreciate expert advice from as many persons as possible. Thanks |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by adibo(m): 3:28am On Mar 14, 2024 |
Parser: Why not go for a 3.5KW SMS sunmate hybrid inverter. Probably with a 2Kwh battery bank. And and let's say a 1.5KW or 2Kw solar array. Might be best value for money as you can expand.
Other perks: DC breaker, transient protector.
The hybrid inverter comes with it's cc. Cost around 350K.
Like play like play 850 don go, except prolly u go do without battery...just dey flex am for day time. Keep in mind, it is better to do DIY that you can easily expand on without selling parts.
Open to corrections. All the best. Good morning, if I buy a hybrid inverter, I can use it without any battery? If yes, can you please explain more how it works. How long can it last during the day? |

OK, I want a hybrid inverter, which product would you advise I go for? i also saw a yohako charge controller, same issue-- it just has low and high for battery type, , until they wake up and start producing smart user friendly products...i will continue rating them low..

why not get growatt or felicity hybrids...or even powmr or sorotec. those hv a decent track record |

Is the yohako a good product? Are the potential benefits of the mercury worth buying it over the yohako?

udemzyudex: Lol.. He want to change vga or get another motherboard for you in disguise of changing the VGA?
2. To change the board should be around #30k-40k depending on seller due to the exchange rate.
A spoilt ram slot can be fix depending on the damage and the available tools.
Note that vga can be change if you have a bga machine but it's a waste of time for this 3rd gen laptop. Thanks a lot for the reply, I sincerely appreciate Please, just a few more questions 1. OK, so, changing the motherboard means that I will be having a totally new VGA, right? Which should solve my blank screen issue permanently, right? 2. Also, the new motherboard comes with its own ram slots, right? Which means that I will have my two ram slots back if I change the motherboard, right? 3. Lastly, my laptop presently has core i5 dual core on it, when changing the motherboard, can I switch to a core i7 motherboard quad core? |

Good afternoon. The screen of my hp elitebook 8570p laptop suddenly went blank.
I took it to the repairer at computer village, he said one of my ram slots is bad, dats why. Then he did something to the laptop, it started showing again. I took it home only for it to stop showing after 3 days.
I took it back to him, he said that the fix he did is temporary and that if he does it again, the laptop will still go off again. He said the VGA needs to be changed, and that costs 40k, but that will be the permanent fix and it won't go blank again
I went online and checked and they said that the VGA of my laptop cannot be changed, that it is fixed to the motherboard, so, to change the VGA means to change the entire motherboard of the laptop
1. I just want to confirm if this is the right way to go, is this the final fix? Is this what the laptop repairer was referring to? Cus he did not mention motherboard
2. How much does it cost to change the motherboard of my laptop?
3. Is it true that a spoilt ram slot cannot be fixed or repaired?
