Egbin Power plant was first commissioned in 1986 but due to neglect by successive regimes, it has never worked at optimum capacity. Agreed only a unit was newly added by GEJ's adminstration but the plant's entire rehabilitation and turnaround was equally Jonathan Govt's initiative.

Egbin was always Nigeria's most sophisticated plant. No government has ever neglected it, not even Abachas's which was Nigeria's worst government. Please if you are too young, read. read and read. Egbin has always been strategic because.of Lagos which was federal capital and economic power house.

Because of its importance it was the only plant that was well monitored by NEPA.
The whole point here is the deception of rash commissioning of plants to deceive the public when actual power generation is still 5000MW same level Yaradua left and $8.2bn spent.

This is a RE COMMISSIONING. That is they are commissioning again an already commissioned expansion of just one additional unit of a 30 year old plant.

There are two types of Nigerian voters now. Those who want the economy better, want to curb corruption, want to stop capital flight and work for real growth. These are the people for BUHARI. This plant has been running for sometime number one, secondly Nigeria's requirements for power is something like 80, 000 MW and increases by 5% every year.

The PDP NIPP is a fiasco and that is one reason Nigerians are voting overwhelmingly for Buhari. As we speak security of gas supply is not even assured for the plants and there will be plenty of shutdowns as a result leading to damaged turbines and other equipment l.

He wont win jack. Obasanjo built Olorunsogo power station. Nobody is buying the rush to commission things after postponing elections or the Chadian clampdown on Boko Haram after we have paid them.
