From my source in FBN human resources, I can confirm authoritatively that we shall soon be called. As the recruitment is been done as per the need for such personel/dept in the bank. And also they are awaiting the group head/ED approval to call us, as it is evident that they are short staffed.
Let's keep the hope alive.

@Georgee, hw far with UBA?

As I have said in my earlier post, ensure you graduate with a good grade so that you can compete well.
I graduated seven years ago, and I was opportuned to get a work in a bank three months after NYSC, and rose to become the Retail Head. I later did a post graduate course in Strategy management in the UK. I have been opportuned to work as a freelance journalist.
@Donaldmike, the sky is your limit, once you know what you want in life. Which university are you, and what level are you now?

Career / Re: Help A Linguist by adonai36: 11:43am On Feb 20, 2013
I am a graduate of Linguistics, and your chance in the labour market depends solely on the grades you graduated with, your drive and above all God. I will advise that map out a career path for yourself, for instance if you are looking at the business world, you can do an MBA after graduation or other professoonal certification. Hence I will advise you not to combine studying in a polytechnic with that of university, as it may have effect on your overall grades at the end of the day.
You also stand a better chance to excel in media, eg print or electronic media world with a degree in linguistics.
But, if you are still to study law, I am afraid you may have to go back to school again.

Don Siga, Thank you so much for your detailed reply.
I got my admission letter for fall 2013 from Niagara college through DHL today, I am putting up my application to CIC office here in few weeks time. In the interim, I am also waiting for Sheridan and College of North Atlantic offer, and see which one will pay me.

Siga: ....I honestly didnt get the post cos it seems the beginning were questions and you answered on towards the end....can u repost ur question? Thanks

My questions are;
1. Can I use a Nigerian account with a balance of N5.0M, but there is no much activities on the account, as the money is a lump sum deposited for about 4 weeks, and a UK account with about £10,000 balance for both myself and my dependant? Both accounts are in my name.
2. Is Newfoundland province immigration rules friendly,as I plan attending a college there?
3. Can my dependant switch to become the main applicant, if he is able to switch to another immigration route, eg work permit, and I now depend on him?
4. I plan to apply together with my dependant, here in the UK, and I will show that he is a student in the UK, and we can't afford to separate now, since the marriage is young, that he will only be coming to canada to see me, as his studies is his commitment in the uk. How feasible is this please?
4. Lastly, what are the other ways to getting PR, if I entered through student visa? As I plan doing PGD or a diploma in personal support worker?

Thank u

@ Dr Wise, I attend the interview last year November in their headoffice. Basically, they ask you what level were you in your former bank, your target in your former bank, and what can you deliver if you are employed, and within a time frame,e.g within six months. They will also ask you who are your prospects?

adonai36: Thank you baba Siga for your reply.
I am still curious avout one or two things as per the student permit/visa.
1. Am still expecting admission from Niagara, Sheridan colleges and College of North Atlantic in Newfoundland. But I think I will prefer the one of Newfoundland, because there tuition is cheap. I want to know what is like with Newfoundland immigration rules as per canadian experience and provincial nominee.

2. Paradventure if my spouse who happens to be my dependant gets a job in canada, can he be the main applicant, while I now turn to be his dependant if he is applying for PR through another immigration route?

3.As per the money, there is a little activity on the account that is here in the UK, but as per Nigeria own, it is a lump sum(N5.0M) that will be deposited there for four weeks, and I plan explaining to CIC that the fund is a proceed from my share of property that I have in Nigeriaa, or an inheriantance from my parents. Hope that will works? Lol

3. What are the avenue to getting PR after studies, am asking because UK immigration laws are somehow now, as per settlement.

4. I plan telling CIC that my spouse is a student here in the UK, and his studies is at stake, but I will want him to visit me from time to time since our marriage is still young, and his ties to uk is his studies.

Please what will you advise, based on the above sir.

Shalom.

1. It takes 9weeks in UK (London) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/students.asp#europe ... as per if u stand a chance? I will have to ask what your spouse does now, work or study? WOuld be better if u go alone on this then later bring him on a visitors visa.... but, again u can include him on this application as well...its ur call

2. Both Nigeria and UK accounts would be nice to use together.... u need a nice activity on ur accts...closing balance means alot, but 6months activities means the most...thats what matters most....so, ensure u have serious transactions going on in those accts

3. U may decide to pay half or full at anytime.... but if u didnt pay the tuition, the embassy will advise u once ur visa is ready to be issued.

Hope all these helps...

Don Siga, I still dey await your response. Many thanks

Hello Gurus in the house, please I havee couples of questions to ask;
1. I want to apply for a canadian student visa together with my spouse as a dependant from their embassy in the UK, how long does it take, and do I stand a chance, considering I am applying together with my spouse?
2. I intend using my Nigeria bank account with a balance of N4.5M and a UK account balance of £12000. Is it tenable, considering I am applying from the UK, and I am using a Nigerian account? And is it neccessary that there should be transaction in the account or they interested in the closing balance?
3. Is it the embassy that do asked students to pay school fees after submission or the school? In other words, am I required to pay part of the school fees before applying?

Prof Siga, Fhemmy, mercillous and other gurus, please kindly help to do justices to my questions.

Thank you Adonai36. Please do I have to send my documents for assessment before I apply or I will just forward my application and attached all my documents? How far? Have you gotten your green card?

You don't need your documents to be notorized, however you must make colour copies of all the documents you are submitting, and translate the ones that are not in English language.
I was called for bbbiomettrics, which I have done, so waiting for the PR card.
[quote author=debedebe]pls are Danish pple friendly?hope dey r not racist... Also do u know about Czech republic visiting and Torist Visa... Urgent pls
As far I known they are friendly, though there population is not much. However, there is no country that you don't find racist.
Getting a Czech visiting/toursit visa should be easy, but depending on where you live. With an hotel booking in your name and your statement of account, you should be good to go!

Hello all, I am currently pregnant in the UK and intend to invite my mum over to witness the delivery and spend some few weeks but I am a little bit skeptical about mentioning pregnancy in the letter of invitation ( as this is perceived to deprive UK citizens of their babysitting job). Is it advisable to just go for Visit/Tourist Visa or invite her based on pregnancy?.I need the option that would stand a better chance.

Travel / Mentioning Prenatal And Post Partum Suppport In Inviting Parents To Uk by adonai36: 9:04pm On Jan 13, 2013
Hello all, I am at the verge of inviting my mum over to the UK but I have heard series of advice as regards avoiding the above subject matter in the invitation letter. I would like to hear some views from people that have succeeded in such. Should I just go for a plain visitor's visa?
Family / Is It Risky To Mention Pregnancy As The Reason To Invite One's Mum Over To Uk by adonai36: 7:31pm On Jan 13, 2013
I have read series of contrary opinions on the choice of pregnancy as the reason for inviting one's mum, I am at the verge of inviting my mum over to witness and give moral support whilst being conscious of avoiding the word "Care" in the letter of invitation. Does anyone have an experience or information to share about the subject matter.

Hello dahonestboss, two things still remain unclear to me;
1. The issue of transcript; am I required to send transcript to each school/dept that I applied to through UAF and UAS, as I already applied for about four programmes in four different schools, or I can send one official transcript to UAF/UAS. And also for the individual unniversities that are not UAF, e.g University of Vassa, should I send a different transcript?
2. Can I apply to more than one programme in the same school?

Thank you.

naijaspeak: Please I have some questions concerning the funds one must have in his personal account and processing fees.

( 1 ) I want to know if one can get a friend or relatives to fund his or her personal account during the period of application assuming there is insufficient money to meet the stated amount being requested? I know this is not in line with the purpose of the scheme and the requirement but the reality in Nigeria creates this kind of issues.

(2 ) is there anything like application fees ( processing fees ) to be enclosed and the amount?

(3) Can you help me to convert the 8,600 danish kroner to Nigerian Naira. This is the amount that I read in the post one must have in his or her account as living expenses.

Yes, you can have a friend/relative to fund your account, since what they require is a recent bank statement showing the amount, however the account has to be in your name, as you can't use a sponsors account. Once you print out the statement you can submit your application, and return back the money.

There is an application fee payable online, you don't enclose cash, but receipt of payment that you generate online. The fee is £670, which is about N135,000, and you pay an handling charge at the embassy, the amount I don't know, because it varies from embassy to embassy or country to country. If you are submitting in Nigeria, I am not sure if Denmark have an embassy in Nigeria, so you may have submit it through the Finland embassy in Nigeria.

£8,600 is about N2.2million.

Please note that the conversion I am using is pounds sterling and not danish krone, as danish krone is 10 to 1 pound sterling.

Pls do you have european education or Nigeria, those in the middle east applicants is longer than yours.I will to see who have applied from Nigeria,if you have idea i will be happy that you share it as well.Goodluck brother

It takes betweeen one to three months before you can be issued your green card/permit resident card. And it also depends where you submitted it.
surecan:

Which stage are you now and how long does all the process take to be approved, where do you submit the application and how do you make the application payment?

I have done the biometrics, and it takes about three months.
I submitted it to there embassy in London, and I paid online. Though there is an embassy handling charge of £155, apart from the processing fee.

Please clarify this point by mentioning qualifications that have scaled through this process. Also what are the discipline or professional courses that are eligible Do they require doctor, nurse, engineer, secretaries and administrators etc

It is not visa lottery, but a greencard scheme, if you have additional qualification with the HND,or work experience (it is called positive list) you will be fine, as the Danes view Nigerian Polytechnic education as a professional degree. Virtually all courses/graduates are qualify to apply in respective of your field of study.
B.SC will give u 30 points
M.sc will give you 50 to 60 points.
Work experience also counts.

Another way to live in Europe is through Denmark. You can apply for Denmark greencard, and when granted you can live and work in Denmark with your family and be subsequently granted residency afterwards
It is a point based system as well, you are required to score minimum of 100 points to qualify. You score points on five headings:
1. Education
2. Age
3. Adaptability
4. Language
5. Work experience.

You can check their website for further information: http://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-us/coming_to_dk/work/greencard-scheme/

However, you are required to have about £8,600 in your personal account, as maintenance fee. You will be granted three years in the first instance, before you can apply for renewal/residency.

I am happy to answer any questions you may have on it.

Shalom.
