You can apply for Navy or Nigeria Airforce

If you get shortlisted and commissioned

You can decide to retire and come back to the oil and gas sector after 10 years or so

Leadership and teamwork, among other qualities you would have picked up from there will be needed in the industry.

Cry for 2 seconds like I just did cheesy cheesy and start planning ahead my friends

What are you tagging them for? grin
Sir, I hope you're doing well. I wanted to touch base with you about the recent email that was sent out regarding mandatory credential uploads. Lots of people haven't received an email about it yet, and I was wondering if you have any updates on where the recruitment process is at and what it means for those of us who haven't received the email yet. Any information you could provide would be really helpful. Thanks so much for your time and assistance with this BOSS

NLNG will just be checking and laughing, that's if they do check Narialand.
The email sent for missing documents is not up to 5% of total of what they need for the next stage, but it is still 50/50, checking missing documents with criterias they wanted, if you meet it good, if you don't meet, it is another thing.
Pray and hope for God's mercy to help through, getting to assessment center or stage doesn't guarantee getting jobs, I believe it is God's mercy, favour that gives the desired job and make dream come through.
You seem to be so sure about the percentage.

How can I tag airsaylongcome??

Does anyone know how??
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigeria LNG Limited Announces 2022 Graduate Trainee Recruitment by ADream:
What is all this fuss about?

Those that passed the test will be invited for AC. It is that simple

The good thing is that NLNG have contacted some of us, which means the process may not take as long as 2013 GTs

If you really want clarification

Wait for Saturday and ask airsaylongcome

With the group exercise, there are three roles that need to be filled. For want of a better word, I will call the first role the “chairman”. The others are the secretary and the time keeper. A lot of people fall into the “trap” of wanting to have one of these roles in the hope that it will guarantee them a good score. But I assure you that you don’t need to hold any of these roles to do well on this exercise. I did not hold any of them. That is not to discourage anyone from aspiring to get any of those roles.

The “chairman” is responsible for coordinating and directing the meeting. S/he is in charge of the discussions and sees to it that all the point’s mentioned in the brief are covered. The secretary documents all the agreements and action points and who is responsible for the action points. The time keeper ensures that the discussions are done in a timely manner. So they’d be promoting the group how much time is left.

Many people have the misconception that you had to be vocal, even combative to stand out. But no, that wasn’t my experience. You have to be active and make meaningful contributions to the discourse. And be seen to do so. Make your point, justify why it’s a valid point. There were 10 examiners, one for each of us. And they sat facing each of us directly. So they are looking at your body language, and overall contribution to the meeting.

I chose not to target any of these roles, but to drive the conversation around selecting those who filled the roles. In the words of Mazi, one of the very good GTs who got hired, “I chose to be a situational leader”. So I looked at those who aspired for the roles and threw my weight behind whoever looked like a good fit.
Your guidance on how to approach the group exercise is much appreciated. God willing some of us will be able to have a chance to do same

Lol! Its what I call a “gay party”. “bone to bone” groove as I call it

It’s not a jab at “you guys” in engineering. It’s a Jab at all of us in male dominated fields. I’m in tech and I’m appalled at how males in the field (in Nigeria at least) “pounce” on females in the same field. Raheeqilmaktoom is active on the Nairaland tech “streets” and I’m sure he would have seen a lot of my posts there that advocate female participation. I’ve even been called a woman wrapper for it.

On a personal basis, I don’t give a rat’s ass if my colleague is male or female. But I have seen a lot of the situations Kinah25 hinted at, were ladies are “screened out” because they are female in a male-dominant profession.
That will be very sad if someone should be screened out on basis of what the person has no control over like Gender
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigeria LNG Limited Announces 2022 Graduate Trainee Recruitment by ADream: 2:01pm On Feb 08, 2023
I don't remember the numbers of female engineers hired. But rest assured that being a female engineer will in no way limit you. In fact one of the engineers from that set got placed on the "high flyer path". And guess what? She was female. Meaning she was identified as super exceptional and set on a high performance path. So yes, the engineering roles are dominated by men, but if you are good your are good irrespective of gender and no one will discriminate against you because of that. They are always super excited to have ladies in those testosterone filled engineering departments
I heard the NLNG team is sending an email that's so top secret, even the recipient won't know they got it until they're already at the next stage!"

Can you imagine getting an email from NLNG that transports you to the next stage of your project without even realizing it? grin

airsaylongcome:
Haha...I've seen a lot of your positive critiques on the NL programming "streetz".

One point I will leave is this, whoever gets called for AC should not be timid. I remember when I had my AC, we were served breakfast and lunch. A lot of us (on the day I did my AC at least) were so scared that what we eat or how we eat was part of the assessment. So some steered clear of eating, others just took a little. If I had a chance to do it again given what I know, I would have descended on that breakfast cos I didn't eat before going (don't fall into this trap. Have a good breakfast before setting out. Not fufu o, but something filling).

I remember a lady at that AC who had flown from Jand a day or two before the date. That girl ate the breakfast well well when most of us were just having tea, coffee or juice. Girl still got hired even though I was thinking "no way this girl will be hired"
Lesson number 1

Eat very well when food is served grin grin

Almost everyone on this thread will be happy if you stay and share your experiences.

For me personally, I am not just looking forward to reading about your experiences and learning from them, but to even meet you in person

You should please stay.

Lol! I really wanted to share my insights and experience from the AC. But omo, the level of cheating in the SHL aptitude test was so much it's off putting.
When God gets angry and stops the rain from falling because of bad guys, it affects the good guys even more

Try to look past all this so called "street smart" guys

These guys will still find a way to cheat even if you dont drop anything here

No one is worshipping me! I was a prospective GT like most of the people here and can 100% relate with what they are going through having previously successfully gone through the same process. Unlike you, I am not looking to denigrate the business or cast a doubt on how they recruit. I and those recruited at the last GT recruitment were hired based on merit and not on any of you so-called "connection". This is the narrative I'm putting out. You are hell bent on putting out a different narrative based on what you proclaim to be your experience getting hired by the business. No one worships me here. They are only interested in hearing my experience and how I was able to navigate the "hurdles" en route to getting an offer letter.
True

And that is why you have to ignore the distractions and do what you set your mind on doing from the very beginning

Like talking about the AC as you promised
