Igbos need to admit your foolishness before trading blames. Nigeria had regional govt with all region progressing some lunatic tribe out of greed n foolishness try to cheat everyone with a coup.
You dead brain want justification, when will you foolish Igbos give Nigeria a justification for couping a democratically elected govt. In your foolishness you do not want to give a justification on that but you need one on why we are not back to regionalism.
Igbos have not been in govt for 60 years ?! while that is a lie, you do not know you need to correct the ills of the past by lining your fathers out on the street n instruct them to apologize for the evil they brought on Nigeria with the coup. Once that is done I will personally lead the fight for 50% derivative. no need engaging a psychiatric patient in a logical argument, you are frustrated with your life, go and sort out your personal life ,you sound miserable. |

We are literally destroying our father land but yll don’t know that yet. is unfortunate we find in ourselves in this kind of mess, one of the reasons i refused to support Nnamdi Kanu and his use of force and coercive language, the enemies are involved in what is going in igboland, when i say enemies i don't mean people from outside igboland as ipob will always want us to believe, people are using igboman to destroy ipob through propaganda. Even the people pushing all this stories are seriously involved. Nnamdi Kanu is helpless ,the people championing the group at this point in time have no strategy ,the people perpetrating this atrocities are within our mix ,they have the control of all the instruments of state, securities, social media and financial strength to their advantage. Immediately i saw a confessional statement from the alleged perpetrator of the crime stating that Nnamdi Kanu sent them i new it was a pre-arranged propaganda. Nnamdi Kanu was giving them from DSS custody. |

tommy589: Awolowo was an apostle for a loose federation. No other leader was ready to listen to minorities agitations for their own region, but he did by creating Midwest out of Western region. I don't know the facts behind revenue sharing, but I am sure he won't hold back what rightfully belong to the Midwest.
Bendelites are too intelligent for anyone to take them for a ride. If Awolowo marginalised Midwest that later became Bendel state, they won't vote massively for Prof. Ambrose Ali, Awolowo's UPN party governorship flag bearer in 1979 election so Edwin Clark is lying? |

Politics › Re: Resource Control: Edwin Clark Tackles Obasanjo, Recalls Ugly Past by Advocate500: 11:09am On Dec 23, 2021 |
Deadlytruth: Read me well. I didn't say the West didn't marginalize the Midwest. Of course that was why we chose to exit it in the first instance. What I am saying is that the marginalization in question was not about oil. Read the story again and you would see where Clark only spoke of the marginalization in terms of assets sharing and never oil which was yet unknown in the Midwest then. Then the other fact is that the East marginalized the Eastern Region minorities back then and that explains their quest for COR Region and the eventual Isaac Adaka Boro secession declaration. yes I agree with you, but if you understand my initial statement is centred on marginalisation based on one side narrative. The way that of old eastern region was amplified you will never believe marginalisation existed in the old western region, that is the only point was trying to defend. |
Politics › Re: Resource Control: Edwin Clark Tackles Obasanjo, Recalls Ugly Past by Advocate500: 10:42am On Dec 23, 2021 |
Deadlytruth: He pointed out that the derivative principle continued till the discovery of oil in commercial quantity at Oloibiri in 1956 which the then Prime Minister, Alhaji Tafawa Balewa, sent congratulatory message to the then Premier of the Eastern Region, Dr. Michael Okpara.
The sharing formula at the time was 50% of the revenue for the owning State, while 20% and 30% goes to the Federal government and distributable pool, for sharing among the regions, including the contributing region.
So after reading the bolded in Clarke's letter you concluded that the going of 50% to the producing area was done by Michael Okpara despite you read it clearly that Balewa was the one who congratulated Okpara for joining the club of those to be receiving 50% derivation? Per your second line of arguement, there was not yet any discovery of crude oil in the Midwest while it was still part of the Old Western Region so the West didn't cheat the Midwest of crude oil revenue and Edwin Clark didn't so insinuate. Most importantly you read where he made it clear that the Igbo coups of January 1966 destroyed the constitution by which this 50% derivation was being enjoyed. you chose the one agree with and the one to disagree with, i have no issue with that, oil or no oil Clarke carefully mentioned the west marginalising the midwest as at the time. Maybe you need to read it the second time. |

louqas: Another truth is that the east has always lagged behind the other two region.. hear Clark
"Clark said, Chief Obafemi Awolowo of the the Western region and Sir Ahmadu Bello of the Northern region were able to develop their regions above the Eastern region as a result of the practice of the principle of derivation.
“The Eastern Region did not progress like the other two regions."
The earlier the east admit they are not equal to the other two region the better for them so they stop trying to equate themselves with the west and north. Ibos are not marginalized as they have their fair share of everything but greed and misinformation make them think they deserve more. Their 5 states is even generous considering the states are among the most unproductive in the federation i wouldn't like to join issues with your illusions but one thing is very clear ,aside Lagos no part of western region can be compared with the either anambra ,imo or Enugu state. I have been ogun and Oyo state, i can authoritatively tell you that those cities are nothing to right home about, so you are free to deceive yourself. |

Thank God is coming from one of their elder ,so under Michael okpara ,the oil producing state was receiving 50% derivation? Under the one Nigeria they supported the killing of their neighbours because of the same oil they are made to enjoy only 13%.
But some people have been pushing a narrative that the igbos marginalised the oil producing state under the defunct old eastern region. So it's was actually the west that marginalised the midwest, we are learning, the truth will be made open one day and all this fairytales of igbos hating the people of niger delta will be led to rest with facts that will be glaring to all. |
