All the points raised by this man are sadly true. But it's not only affecting Yoruba people we Igbo are not left out. We live in a country where our past is better than our present in all ramifications, a chronically sick society that holds no hope for the future. Such a shame. |
What about the families and friends of the Shiites in Kaduna? Weren't they all gunned down in the most brutal fashion? Are they less human? Or what about the innocent protesters in Onitsha? Oh sorry, they're the 5% and it doesn't matter. |

Curlieweed:The Real Yoruba. So smart we Igbo have to continually up our game to keep up. |
bender79:I look at my Yoruba friends and wonder if they are the same Yoruba that Nairaland describes, I remember my Fulani friends in NYSC who took me in like one of theirs, I wonder if they are the murderers Nairaland describes. Then I look at myself to realise that it is me that is getting twisted by Nairaland. |
TippyTop:He carries a burden no man ever wants to willingly carry. The way GEJ was misconstrued with 'stealing is not Corruption' Buhari has also been misconstrued with the 97% and 5% statement. All these are the work of politicians. They have exploited all our weaknesses in order to perpetuate themselves. Because of this PMB has to bromance all manner of Christian Clerics in order not to be seen as a bigot. But islamophobes will have non of it. Even though I'm a proud wailer, I sometimes pity Buhari. |
Buhari refused to help out in the Boko Haram saga in 2013 when it was a national embarrassment. He maintained that the insurgency in the north will end if only he becomes president. As God would have it, he's now president. He should deal with it. |
And other countries are watching? |
saaedlee:the weather is black. I can't even get to work. It's like the gods are not in support of Buharis visit. |
dustmalik:anytime he skips his medicine he quickly opens a thread. His psychotherapist uses his comments to determine how well he's responding to treatment. Unfortunately he's remained the same for years. |
The so called clean up is s Greek gift. Fortunately the average person has seen through their games and the APC trying to use it to score cheap political points is dead on arrival. Why do you think election results in Rivers State have not been declared by INEC for over three months? Why do you think elections in the Ogoni axis have been outrightly cancelled without any possible date of rerun? |
Kyase:as a Greek gift to the Niger Delta peoples so they won't clamour for resource control. Sir, the national conference you organised was thrown into the archives because it was going to restructure Nigeria. You see the Northerners don't like restructuring so the president of the north confined it to the archives. Also sir, the term host community has been redefined to mean the whole country, meaning if Shell spills crude into my village stream and my grandmothers fish pond, the compensation should go include kebbi kwara and yobe states, they're now part of the "host communities" . |
QuotaSystem: ariesbull:Allow him to cherrypick from the narrative while masturbating on his preconceived bias. |
I don't get it. Ijaw people should produce who? How is that possible? Have the Kanuris produced Shekau or the Fulani produced Kabiru Sokoto? Have the Shehu of Borno or the Sultan of Sokoto been asked to produce anybody? This military never learns, they should stop harassing people in order to force them to give information which they clearly do not have. They should have learnt this in Borno. They need to woo the people to their side in order to get information. Tompolo is not lying around anywhere there, neither is the NDA a single individual who's waiting in warri to be apprehended. |
I'm sorry I wouldn't dream of it. I'm Igbo first Nigerian second so when it comes to Nigeria I'll consider my tribe first and foremost. Being Igbo there was never a time when my ancestors were asked whether of our own free choice we would like to join a union called Nigeria. The British just lumped up incompatibles for administrative expediency and a century later here we are, more divided, more bitter. I am neither faithful loyal nor honest I will not serve with all my strength( I will never serve) I won't defend her unity I can't uphold her honour and glory (even if I try)because she had none. I won't die for Nigeria no matter the circumstances. I would rather Nigeria dies for me. |
The child seems to be smarter than his parent. |

Mr Op I think Seun should just give you the keys to Nairaland so you can ban anyone who doesn't conform to your ideology. No need for all the long Grammar. P.S. It beats me what you want. I can't understand you and your selective patriotism. You always harp about "A PARTICULAR SECTION OF THE COUNTRY" or "YOUR CANDIDATE LOST THE ELECTION MINE WON, DEAL WITH IT". You insult the sensibilities of an entire region yet you want the "PEACE AND UNITY OF THE COUNTRY" shouldn't you have your head checked? I cannot tell Seun what to do and what not, he didn't ask anyone to advise him including you. People are responsible for their views and opinions in having a robust argument in this marketplace of ideas. Nairaland is what it is. A market of trading ideas in moderated ARGUMENT and not MODERATED OPINIONS. NOTE THE DIFFERENCE. The moment you start suppressing ideas this place looses its diversity and the beauty of it. There are secessionist calls in BRITAIN, CANADA, SPAIN AND THE U.S.A. no one has been arrested rather the government invites them for debates with the aim of convincing the people against secession. It is only in Nigeria that we brutalise people who do not tow our line of reasoning, religion or politics. |
mrvitalis:are you saying that they steal because they are from the host communitues? That no other people steal except the Niger Delta? What I understand is that they are given the most dehumanising jobs then set them up to fail. They are given jobs without promotion without security in a system that's rigged against them. They will struggle as contract staff for years only to have one OLUGBENGA, ADEDEJI, or ADEsomething who was retained as a corper last year head the unit. Oluthis and that eventually recommends the sacking of this people. They cannot protest they have no voice. This was the trend for so long. Stealing is in every tribe. |
mrvitalis:We will have a resource based economy. HUMAN RESOURCES. Millions of vibrant young and highly educated under 30s who have shed the yoke of the northern parasites. That is highly predictable and a very good thing. |
kenrish2:We need to first pray about your use of English. |
mjbaba:Good what happened to the assistant comptroller of the last customs boss who happened to hail from the south? Buhari brought a retired Fulani soldier who left government since 1999. and has no experience whatsoever in the field. What happened in the DSS? Yes the notorious DSS, BUHARI brought another retired Fulani who joined politics as an APC chieftain, the man is on the agenda to silence any opposition to their medievalist style of Government. The same DSS that is so silent on the Fulani Herdsmen yet brutal on the Ekiti house of assembly. In short Mr Objective keep deceiving yourself. Nigerians have seen Buhari and Northerners for who they are. |
Craze get many versions. |
Two faced old fool who incited the Northerners against Jonathan with careless statements. Made him look like an Ijo president with his ijo this ijo that statements as if the ijos were the only oil producers. Immediately after last year's election he decamped from the PDP. The fool is the southern version of Junaid Mohammed and Ango Abdullahi. |
Nigeria is a dysfunctional society. The lack of empathy and the tremendous high cost of low trust among the ethnic divides makes peaceful coexistence almost impossible. Politicians have taken advantage of this to further assault our sensibilities. The current President was once quotes that "an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the North" Do you know how much damage that caused? How many servings officers and men were lost because the residents in the North would not give timely information? The people saw the army as enemies and would not cooperate. Service men were ambushed and killed in hundreds because a politician made an unguarded statement. That politician is currently the president I just cited this example as one of many to prove that this hypocrisy didn't start today. We are all guilty of this, every Nigerian that is involved in politics. It's not a problem, it is THE problem. |
They have the right to move their cattle anywhere they like? Including people's farms in this planting season? Seriously? bettercreature: |
This is good |
Patriotism is alien to the typical Nigerian hence the consternation. My Ghanaian teachers back in primary school used to mock us pupils then that we live in a country without a national ethic and doctrine. I didn't understand them until this IPOB saga. |
This Omenka fellow if I may advise him, just stay off Nairaland for a while, do some careful introspection, search your soul . I believe there's some good conscience in you and take time to emancipate yourself **** You actually come across as **** which I believe you're not. Shed this moral burden, you have carried enough. |

). Even 200 for a bottle of booze for the night dem no get. Misery day and night, that's their lot.
Like seriously?
