RomanceThere Is More To Falling In Love Than You Thought You Knew! by afaatng(op):
Came across some fascinating, eye opening facts about love.

So i decided i was going to write about it and learn more.

If you are anything like me, you must have wondered if love is really blind?

What are the facts about love's eyesight?

Why is it that we feel the way we feel when we are "supposedly" in love?

Why do people desperately want that partner that shows little or no interest in them?

Are some people in-capable of loving?

The art of Loving is weird science, and there is more to this weird chemistry than you thought you knew.

This post will be revealing few of the facts you should know about love.

Below are 5 Facts about Love You didn't Know

Do We Love with our Hearts or Heads?

The general idea is we love with our hearts not with our heads but that statement is not 100% accurate.

Your brain is as important as much as your heart, and that's why it's been proven that falling in love is like taking a dose of coke.

No, I am not talking about coca-cola.

Falling in love hits our brain in the exact pattern cocaine does.

It affects the intellectual part of our brains and creates a similar sensation as when cocaine is in the human body.

This is according to a study focused on the Neuroimaging of Love that was published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine by researchers from Syracuse University.

The researchers discovered chemicals such as dopamine, vasopressin, oxytocin, and adrenaline in different areas of the brain.

These are euphoria-inducing chemicals and are responsible for feelings of great elation.

To answer the question - Do we love with our hearts or head?

The author of the research Professor Stephanie Ortigue has this to say:

"That’s a tricky question always. I would say the brain, but the heart is also related because the complex concept of love is formed by both bottom-up and top-down processes from the brain to the heart and vice versa."

"For instance, activation in some parts of the brain can generate stimulations to the heart, butterflies in the stomach. Some symptoms we sometimes feel as a manifestation of the heart may sometimes be coming from the brain."

"There is a lot of activities in our brains when we are in love and when love goes wrong, things happen there too."

"When heartbroken, these brain activities appear to be the reason some people stand the risk of emotional distress and depression."

In simple English, love can be.....

Science/TechnologyIs There Really Any Health Danger Associated With Using Our Mobile Devices? by afaatng(op):
Effects of Mobile Phone on Human Health, is there really any danger associated with using a cell phone?

The year was 1973 when a Motorola employee, Martin Cooper stood in Manhattan and placed the first ever call from a mobile phone to the headquarters of Bell Labs in New Jersey.

That was the moment our generation was revolutionized. But have you ever sat and wondered if this luxury tool that has had a profound effect on making our lives easy, enjoyable and livable could be having dangerous effects on our lives and health?

Let's discuss the Negative effects of Mobile Phone on Human Health and some ways to fix it.

Since 1973, the number of calls and call times of people has generally increased. With the advent of social media and instant messaging apps, the amount of time we spend on our mobile phones has INCREASED DRASTICALLY.

There are times when we spend more than four hours consecutively on our mobile phones switching from one app to another. We go from instant messaging to social media, to facetime, to candy crush like a programmed mindless robot.

What all this screen time and “pop culture” navigation get us are information and entertainment, but there are some adverse effects it poses on our health if adequate precaution and care are not taken into consideration.

Those effects are not limited to the physical. Our mobile phones also have mental and sometimes emotional effects on our health.
Below are 5 Negative Effects of Mobile Phone on Human Health and How to Deal with It.

Human Cognitive Capacity

1. It can affect your Cognitive Capacity (Working memory capacity and functional fluid intelligence)

The signals are everywhere if we take a moment to look around us. In his book “smart phones dumb people?”, Parthajeet Sarma talked about how technology is taking over our lives.

Not in a Skynet type of way, YET, but we all depend on our phones heavily for day to day cognitive tasks ranging from the simple ones like performing simple subtraction to the technical ones like knowing what the weather would look like today. This act is having a negative effect on the cognitive abilities of our brains.

“Our smartphones enable and encourage constant connection to information, entertainment, and each other. They put the world at our fingertips, and rarely leave our sides. Although these devices have immense potential to improve welfare, their persistent presence may come at a cognitive cost” – a study conducted at the University of Chicago

Researchers are referring to this condition as Smartphone-induced “Brain-Drain”. Working memory is the ability of the brain to remember information temporarily and functional fluid intelligence is the ability to solve problems and identify patterns.

The study tested these two functions on nearly 800 phone users. It was found that having your phone nearby when you want to perform a cognitive task like taking an exam reduces the capacity of the working memory and functional fluid intelligence compared to putting your phones in other rooms or leaving it at home altogether.

So, part of that recent forgetfulness you’ve been experiencing might be due to your constant use and presence of your mobile phones around you.

Your cell phone is a germ “warehouse” which promotes free radicals, bacterial infections, and viral infections.

You probably don’t know your cellphone has 10 times more bacteria than a toilet seat.

This was found by scientists at the University of Arizona. Our hands are a good general collector of germs because of all the places and things we touch during the course of the day.

Ever thought about books you should read before you die?

Life is becoming increasingly fast-paced – fast cars, fast phones, everything seems to breeze past us at lightning speed.

Gone are the days we used to enjoy simple pleasures like long walks, quiet time by the beach, or reading.

Yes, reading.

In this part of the world, reading is a chore, mostly for a purpose such as to pass an exam or to get information for other uses.

We seem to have lost the habit of reading for the pure pleasure of it.

Getting lost in a world created by the words a book can be a most enjoyable experience.

Yes, you will learn new words, yes, you will boost your intelligence but that should not be the prime purpose of reading a well-written novel.

It is for us to appreciate the art and soul found between the lines and drift into a realm and time of great excitement.

There are a huge number of books one can use for pleasure reading, learning and personal development.

Travel AdsThe Top Tourist Attractions In Nigeria by afaatng(op): 2:46pm On Aug 02, 2020
Not much is known about tourism and the tourist attractions in Nigeria.

Why? The answer is not far fetched.

Nigeria has been presented in a negative light lately, mostly because the media projects its people as mostly internet fraudsters.

This has hurt the country’s image so much so that people from other parts of the world fail to see the good that could come out of Nigeria and its people.

Internally, poor security, incessant corruption scandals surrounding the political elite, and overall poor living standards have caused so many Nigerian’s to “give up” on the ability of the government to make policies and execute projects that will better their lives.

They too do not believe that anything can come out of this Nation, which is NOT TRUE.

Nigeria is a blessed nation both materially and in terms of human resources. Nigeria is endowed with about 34 solid minerals identified in 450 locations in the country which include bitumen, gold, coal, iron ore, limestone, lead/zinc ores, limestone, and barites.

With 53.2% of the general population falling between the age of 15 and 65, the country boasts a strong workforce, a huge source of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled labor available to both local brands and foreign investors.

With hundreds of natural tourists’ attractions, some of which are UNESCO World Heritage Site, the nation’s beauty is a sight to behold.

1. The Ibeno Beach (Akwa Ibom State)

You are certain girls don't cheat?

Maybe yours don't, but don't ever put your money on a girl not cheating.

I am certain these guys felt the same way until it blew up in their faces.

Women are bad too, even more than they make men appear and these cheating girlfriend stories prove it.

The general sentiment is about guys and how they are polygamous, how they can't control "the snake" between their legs, how they can't stick to one girl, how much they lie.... blah blah and blah.

That narrative is about to change, with the evidence I am about to provide you.

I stumbled on a post on the subreddit, SuicideWatch. It's the story of a suicidal 18-year-old boy, who falls in love with a 16-year old virgin girl and promised her there will be no sex until she is ready.

Long story short, boy discovered girl cheats, but that's not the problem.

She is not with one male partner, girl is sleeping with over 6 different boys and even brought one to the apartment they both shared.

But Men are SCUM!

SportsFixed Match: My Experience With The Gurus by afaatng(op): 10:47am On Jul 12, 2020
Most People Still Fall for this so called Fixed Match Gurus.

Fixed Match and Match Fixers exist but the manner this “Gurus” make contact and the amount of publicity they attach to their services can only mean it’s a SCAM!

Not that I personally know folks who fix matches, but i know for a fact, they don’t promote the service like it’s available to all. You’d know more about real match fixers if you read this post until the end.

But first, let me share my experience on Facebook and trust me, it was fun. Sadly, many have fallen for these cheap tricks.

They attract you with promises of great winnings but if you’re not greedy, you shouldn’t fall for them.

Look at this way, if you have a certain “illegal” source of wealth, would you render it as a service? Even if you are dumb and would do that, is it logical to publicize such service(s) online?

I will just stop there!

Below are screenshots of my conversation with Fixed Match Gurus on Facebook.
Moi vs Match Fixer 1 (Victor Basil)

Victor Basil claimed to work for a certain “Fixed Odds Organization” and assured me, “winning is 100% certain with his organization……… but only available to “ready individuals”.

HealthCOVID-19 Real Or Not? Watch Survivors Share Their Story by afaatng(op): 6:32pm On May 17, 2020
A lot of people in Nigeria, from the educated to the not so educated, civilized and even some who claim to be exposed, have chosen to deny reality and the existence of the novel coronavirus (nCoV).

Some are family members, some are on WhatsApp groups and some are just random individuals whose comments litter social media space.

Their argument?

“These people just have malaria”.

“The government is using the pandemic as an excuse to siphon the nation’s wealth”.

While that is a possibility, nobody, and I mean not a single soul can provide proof of such claims and it’s not enough reasons to deny the existence of something so deadly.

This group, take it a step further and ask for picture proof, you will hear them ask…

If the coronavirus is real, why can’t the government show us images of people at the isolation centers?

I might not have an official answer to that query but I feel, common sense should prevail here.

Why will you make videos of people who are/were infected with one of the worst kind of disease ever known to the human race?

In a society like ours, stigmatization is a big issue.

These people deserve their privacy.

If they choose to come out willingly, good, but no government should expose any coronavirus victim/survivor for whatsoever reason (that’s my opinion anyway).

Fortunately, we have some survivors who have shown real courage and would like the “doubting Thomases” know the coronavirus is real.

I wrote why I think the Thomas(es) will probably have Lagos state on lockdown again, read it here.
COVID-19 Real or Not?

As the time of filing this report, Nigeria has recorded over 1000 recoveries.

These brave Nigerians, who have battled and conquered the coronavirus, want you to hear their story with the hope it will help keep you and everyone around you safe.

Many still doubt the existence of Coronavirus but we hope this will help alter that belief.

Anonymous Patient

One of the survivors in Lagos, spoke to journalists on conditions of anonymity, for fear of stigmatization you can guess.

President Muhammadu Buhari directed Lagos state lockdown be relaxed starting from the 4th of May, 2020.

The directive issued on the 27th of April 2020 had residents of Lagos excited and anticipating things going back to normal but did normalcy return?

“Freedom at last”, many said.

But is it true freedom?

Is there a possibility, we will have another lockdown after this one?

Let’s explore 3 reasons why the Lagos lockdown might be too early to be eased and why there might be another one soon.

The Instance of Ghana

President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana told Ghanaian living in the country’s two major cities, Accra and Kumasi, they can go back to their normal life and move freely; citing “severe difficulties for all across the country, especially for the poor and vulnerable” as a major reason for lifting the lockdown.

Fourteen days after; even with the President directing citizens to practice social distancing and personal hygiene, the country’s confirmed coronavirus cases have risen by at least 60% according to SaharaReporters.

As of May 3, confirmed cases have risen to 2,169 with 18 deaths.

This, as expected had people worried, and that’s including those whom – the President described as “poor and vulnerable”, because the truth remains no one wants to die.

Adwoa Nyarku, a house cleaner who averages about 36000 naira ($100) in Ghana’s capital city of Accra was interviewed by The Washington Post, she was quoted by the paper saying

“All the people l work for do not even want me around their homes, they want to be safe and l understand it, but it also means, l have nothing to feed myself and children with.”

I want you to understand me, I am not saying people are not suffering and/or shouldn’t be allowed to look for their daily bread.

My point is, easing the lockdown won’t HELP anyone in any way!

And this also applies to Lagos, many wouldn’t get their means of livelihood back; at least, not until people are certain the COVID-19 spread has been contained.

Confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria was 2388 (as of May 3), three days after Lagos lockdown was eased, the NCDC says Nigeria has 1138 new cases, that number includes 10 officials of the Lagos state government house.

Do you still think easing was a good idea?

My Suggestion

The government should FOCUS on making the lockdown more tolerable for people especially the poor and vulnerable by working harder to make palliatives reach “more” people.

Lagos Population and Its Peculiarities

Governor Babatunde Sanwo-Olu listed guidelines/precautionary measures everyone who falls under the sector allowed movement must follow.

People would be allowed into Open Markets and Mall from 9 am to 3 pm on selected days and everyone must follow precautionary measures.
Vehicles transporting agricultural produce and other essential goods, to and from Lagos from any part of the country are not allowed to carrying more than 7 passengers, irrespective of the size.
Schools are to remain locked and continue with the options like the e-learning already being explored.
Religious institutions should also remain closed from any form of gathering.
Transportation businesses must adhere to an overnight curfew, operations will be from 6am to 7pm.
Bus drivers and conductors as well as passengers are to wear face masks at all times and also practice the “coronavirus ritual” of handwashing and/or hand sanitizing regularly.

See that last part, where Bus Drivers, Conductors, and their passengers will have to wear a face mask, and wash or sanitize their hands – got me reeling.

Update: Information has it Lagos state government is using the Military to enforce the use of Face Masks, but what about handwashing and the use of hand sanitizers?

If you live in Lagos or you’re a regular visitor, you know that will probably not happen; these people are, in my own opinion, from a different world and they don’t care about what you or what the government tells them.

Most of them don’t believe the coronavirus is real, and how do people prevent what they feel doesn’t exist?

It gets worse when you think about the 6am – 7pm curfew.

Let me share a quick story with you.

When I started the full-time business of adulthood, I had to relocate outside Lagos because I wanted to be more productive. I made that decision after some horrible, horrible traffic experience (how else would you describe spending almost 8/9 hours on a journey that shouldn’t be more than 2 hours max).

Heavy Traffic is unique to Lagos and this is down to the population of the state.

The traffic riddle will come into play as we enter this new phase of the lockdown and believe me (you can also quote me) it will create more problems than it will solve.

My Suggestion

I don’t have any suggestions for this one, because e pass me and my technical knowledge.

I will do the Nigerian norm and pray everything goes well.

Controversial pastor, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere also known as Odumeje oftentimes makes the news for the "not so good" reasons.

His "church style" and ways to the things of God, in particular, as regards healing and deliverance sessions beg questions as to how he has remained unchecked by CAN despite the many inconvenient things he is known for.

Who is Pastor Odumeje?

Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere alias Odumeje ‘The Lion’ is an Anambra-based controversial and radical Nigerian pastor, prophet, founder and the president of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry inc., a.k.a the Land of Freedom, situated in Onitsha, Anambra state.

The first time I saw his video, I thought he is an entertainer, and I mean no blasphemy. If you've seen his videos, you'd probably agree with me.

But if you are like the many who don't know much about this spiritual figure, then you are in the right place.

We have collected some of his best "performing" videos, and hopefully at the end of this post, you'd share what you think of Pastor Odumeje and tell if my "entertainer" comment is appropriate, wrong or if i am just disrespectful to this man of God.
