When the Bank inputs a Form A on their internal system, it carries an AA number. Log on to the trade portal, under history, dowload your already FORM A and check if it has a number like AA2022*******

This explanation is not clear enough because am also on this stage.

Even if it changes to AA, he just means the bank has inputted it on their own trade portal. Then they will queue him/her up for FX purchase which is actually where the wait begins. Except he has an Insider that will help fast track it.

Not to rain on your parade but you still have a few weeks to go. Check for your reference on trade portal. If your reference has not changed from AF to AA then you are no where near been debited.

If its recommended for approval without being approved then there a problem.
Unde Form A history, try downloading the Form A form. If you do and see a number that tarts with AA then you know its approved.

In his first msg, he didnt state the mistake was that much. If it was a small mistake like in the date and month, its nothing much cos pple make sure mistakes and its fine cos mistakes happen.
I made such mistake in my sons visiting visit application n only got to know after i submitted and had no issues.
Now he has he has stated that its in thevyear which is 20 whole years apart, thats what am worried about.

The mistake is quite big to let go, unless the ECO starts to look into his birth certificate

You have said your son is 22 years with a dob of 2000 , at the moment, he is technically no longer a child dependant.

There is a tendency for the ECO to skip and refer to the birth certificate but what if that doesn't happen.

The onus is on you to ensure the information you provide is accurate and true.

Wow, the mistake is so much. I think you should cancel for him. I thought it was a slight mistake. And since he is well over 18, he isnt a child dependent anymore.
I tink he can apply for a school and move that way.

@ Afmaag123 thanks for reaching back. The mistake was around the part on MA section that ask for people who depends on you for financial assistance or so who will or will not be traveling with you. so instead of putting his birth year as 2020 we put it as 2000.

I had to sort some one to assist in fast racking the form A thing... even with my money the form a hasn’t dropped and I had to send school an email that the payment process has started and they should bear with me.

I really hope they hold on until the form A thing goes through.

If you have someone in Uk or abroad, you could contact them to help pay while you sort them with naira else you may just have to look for someone to help you fastrack too. Buying black market for 3k fees is not cost effective.

You should also mention the years if remember it.

1. You can use any airline but it has to be a return ticket or you have a scholarship

2. It is not advisable to cancel your return ticket because the bank will definitely find out during their review and ask you to return the PTA if you didnt use your return ticket. Moreover what i know is that once you use the first leg of the ticket and ask for refund for the second leg you get very little refunds .

3. Processing time is same day but funds are limited as most banks have max of 2 slots per week which is on FCFS basis.

4. Its better you book the tickets together one way for the kids then parents can do return if they are sure of getting PTA.

2). After you cancelled your return ticket, were you refunded cash, transfered to your bank or given a voucher and how long did it take?

3) how long is PTA processing time now?

4). Lastly, for a family who intends to travel to the UK together, is it wise to book the tickets separately and process PTA or book for the family together?

Except you want to to cancel but i dont think theres a need for it. Lets be hopeful that the ECO will see it as a genuine mistake since his passport and birth certificate has the right DOB. If they need any clarification, they can also send you a NSF mail for confirmation.

Why not renew in Nigeria if you have time?. You can do 64 ogs for 10years. It takes less than a month or thereabout. The process is more difficult in Uk.

you can use the passport, the full length of your visa will be on your BRP. However for your mind and peace sake also start thinking/arranging if you want to renew your passport in Nigeria or UK.
If in Nigeria start now, once the visa is out you join both passports and travel. If to be done in the UK, get your NIN and know that you would need to travel down to London for biometrics after paying online. So it’s either of the 2 options.

I think it differs. My friend is the MA n already in UK. She paid higher Visa fees for her family . With another person that was going with her family at once, i noticed she paid same fees with her kids but hubbys was higher.

As at yesterday morning, visa fee and IHS fee for MA and dependant are the same in USD (464 and 900.31).

This depends on the situation. I know for single parents who want to travel with their under-18 child(ren) but not with the child(ren)'s other parent, you will need a death certificate, sole custody order or any other legal document that shows that the child(ren)'s other parent isn't in the picture anymore.
