I understand where you come from. However, with the presence of the Internet, information has been democratised and is universal. Laptops and phones are now cheaper than ever before. The issue I see is location and the determination. Some people have the phobia to change locations which could be, and actually is, very critical to their future success.

I had a friend who made a first class and was always lamenting of being called for aptitude tests in Lagos whereas he was based in Aba. The constant travelling and costs made him resigned from job hunting and decided to travel to Dubai to "hustle" (as I was told since we parted ties). However, I had another female acquaintance who was and is based in Lagos - so no excuses for aptitude tests - but wasn't informed of the many opportunities in the industry she was in. Meanwhile, I have another senior classmate who moved to Lagos, did his MSc at UNILAG and has worked in different corporations, and is doing very well. In a few years time, I believe he too will earn a million naira (the industry isn't that lucrative compared to finance or oil and gas). Yet again, I've another who moved to Abuja and got a sales role. Unlike the first three I mentioned, this lass had a second class lower, but she earns more than a million naira and got a company car and accommodation..

Two things characterise everyone: determination and location.

If a beautiful and intelligent well dressed lady goes for an interview, her chances are high! Unlike the males, who send you!

yes. You’re very correct and I know that as well. But all am saying is that it is a circle of the rich, well to do in the society. Rising up to that bench mark as an average Nigerian is close to not possible. If one is there, one is there. Same as vice versa.

If you’re struggling to earn a 100k in a month, I and you won’t be arguing. And there are many graduates like this. And have tried many things. In fact jack of trades..!

Let me advice you, don't be bothered about what you hear or see around you. Just tell yourself what you want and that is where it starts.

About 19years ago as a final year student, I tell my friends I wasn't going to start with less than N120k. Immediately I graduated, even before my set went for service, I had switched jobs within two banks without knowing anyone. In my second interview, I told my panel I was interested in working for only 4.5years as my intention was to be a professor. And at that nick of time, I left to graduate school but chose to go back to industry after my PhD.

I am writing this to encourage you so that you can be assured that opportunities abound greatly.

yea, thanks. But lemme ask you were you a garri soaker when growing up.? One who wasn’t brought up under the abject poverty circumstances can never in any way settle for less. Na your standards give you moral. Candidly speaking, I am not speaking for myself as such but for the rest of the underprivileged Nigerians. Determination comes from the family where one came from. There are even many masters who are jobless, was it not determination that got them there.? What I am saying in essence is that, that mark in earning and above it, is for the well to do in the society. There are informations that will never go out of their circle. Even if one wants to learn a powerful skill that will earn good money, no be small money in funding oneself into it, the idea on how to go about it alone, if not mentored properly na to drop out forget am.

It is only God’s natural gift that can only raises someone from the status of grass to grace and na still by God’s grace. Majority are Bleep up already. Not even all who are abroad are thanking God in terms of value. If not for basic necessities being rest assured there..!

considering all these things you just mentioned will be out of pity. We were not there... As a single guy, marrying her because of that will spell doom. He will be nothing but a 3rd class citizen. She will love those kids more than him.

I am a realist. See the numbers of church goers, different denominations, how many cars we all see park in front or at their car park? It is Never enough to transport all of the members home if we are to estimate. The poverty is glaring..! No be today. It is just a syndrome of rich getting richer and the poor getting poor. They’re are connected! The ideas of money spinning ventures are in their hands! Always good to go home and abroad. What are we not talking. Except one decide to sacrifice for his generation to rid off poverty from bloodline! Even if a poor man’s child is very brilliant, he or she cannot afford to gain admission not to talk of being able to afford the fees in studying law, pharmacy or medicine. If one enters the market place, what then is the definition of hard work.? Success to this height of earnings is just as the camel passing through the eye of a needle in most societies. Even prayers never answer many people request on the matter. Common responsibility limits progress drastically here in Nigeria than abroad. Common born one, one’s growth will be dragged backwards. Not everybody will make it after relocating. As there are hundreds of them who could not make it there, there are thousands others who are making it big there. It is the reality of life. Salah and De Bruyne did not make it big in Chelsea. That doesn't make Chelsea a bad club, because Drogba and Hazard made it there. Hazard not making it in Real Madrid doesn't make it a bad club because Modric, Benzema and Ronaldo made it there.

He was actually about 5 years older than me but circumstances made us class mates in secondary school and we met again in uni were we became roommate and best of friends. We drink crazy then and did lots of rugged stuffs but when it comes to decipline he showed me alot. He was like my elder bro but we were best friends. I'm married with two daughters and I have put it on ground that when I have a son I will name him that my guy to always remember him.

This is quite like how my best friend back at uni days found his wife. We were just sitting in his car at the car park of our admin block when some girls drove and parked beside us. As one of them was coming out the car she didn't know something fell down and my friend noticed the black nylon bag that dropped. When they went into the building we went to pick the bag only to discover it was cash of about 250k as at year 2,000 oooo. And that day we were broke looking for money to drink beer so you can imagine. I had already started jubilating untop how many crates of beer we will drink when my friend said we must find the girl to give her back the money untouched. I nearly craze but I had to agree with him. We found the girl and gave her the bag of cash. She nearly fainted and that was how it started till graduation and life together with two lovely kids. Unfortunately and sadly he passed away few years back leaving that beautiful down to earth lady with the two kids. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I still miss him so much and do all I can to always support the wife and kids although the lady got a good paying job. So painful

looking for money to drink beer, that’s was brokeness. A very powerful lesson truly. If you both had not refunded back that money, I bet you maybe you wouldn’t have been alive to tell the story with nothing to show for it. And again, Thanks to God for that your (late) friend. May his souls Rest In Peace. The charity sealed up his genealogy before transition!
