nyarlathotep: Exactly. Why would the MCU ever need to reboot? They'd just continue to tell new stories with new characters within the pre-established continuity. That's like rebooting Star Wars. By re-writing the extended universe they DID reboot Star Wars in the eyes of many fans and look how that went down. |

Digital Comics, Trade Paperbacks and Graphic Novels will still bring in revenue, but I suppose it's lot less compared to direct comics sales. |

Cottonmouth: Do you think Marvel could do something like the movie 1916? Like a war film in one continuous take?
Imagine how cool a Captain America movie would be if it was like that? Or the Invaders I think you mean 1917 bro. But yeah I don't see why not surely they have plenty of characters that can fit in to that timeframe. I personally would love to see a spy behind enemy lines type of movie featuring Union Jack, know next to nothing about the character but always thought the costume looked sick.

2021- Shang-Chi Spider-Man Thor
2022- Dr. Strange Black Panther Blade
2023- Captain Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy One more film
4 films per year just sounds too much work unless Marvel Studios really film their movies like 2 years or 1 1/2 year ahead from their respective projected release date then they could do it. But a director bailing when a movie is supposed to be out in 16 months and a week is not okay, especially the replacement might need more than six months to work in the script/pre prod before filming starts. I'm kinda bummed that Dr. Strange 2 is adding more months/a year to its gap from the first DS movie. But I'd rather want Marvel and the new director to take their sweet time rather meeting the planned May release date for the sake of it.
Also these Disney+ shows will also eat up their time. I just don't see how 1 studio can juggle both streaming shows and movies and then increase their yearly movie output to 4 when they can't even release 3 movies for this year when the James Gunn debacle happened. |

nyarlathotep: FX dropped some cool trailers today for shows coming to Hulu. I think FX is the unsung hero of the Fox purchase. Some of the greatest content anywhere. my girl likes handmaid’s tale and that’s why I was thinking about Hulu. If they’ve got some cool stuff coming then I’ll probably be down with getting the package. I think the non-commercial package for Hulu is the way to go though. I don’t need to pay and watch commercials |

With regard to The Mandalorian and The Witcher, you guys should consider the platform. Like, come on . All things being equal, you would expect The Witcher to far outpace The Mandalorian. How many people have Netflix as opposed to Disney +? I think it speaks volumes that The Mandalorian is even in the same area code ‘The Mandalorian’ Vs. ‘The Witcher,’ Disney Plus Vs. Netflix, In One ChartHere's a snip of info from the above website. Just for fun, here are some other Witcher vs. Mandalorian metrics to compare:
* The Witcher RT Critic Score: 64% * The Mandalorian RT Critic Score: 94% * The Witcher RT Audience Score : 93% * The Mandalorian RT Audience Score: 93% * The Witcher IMDB Audience Score: 8.5 * The Mandalorian IMDB Audience Score: 8.9 * The Witcher Metacritic Critic Score: 53 * The Mandalorian Metacritic Critic Score: 69 * The Witcher Metacritic Audience Score: 7.8 * The Mandalorian Metacritic Audience Score: 8.4SOURCE: FORBES |

Xavier5: Bro, my reply was in response to your logic that billion dollar grossers equates high profit that's why I had to quote you in contradiction. Below is the statement from you.
Disney had a loss in it's third quarter despite having a revenue of $9b+ from six movies (excluding frozen 2, maleficent 2, star wars 9), that's huge. Blaming fox properties and the acquisition of Fox which occurred in March 2019 is ridiculous. Revenues from those movies should have covered up that loss but no it didn't, why? because they didn't make high profits to do so.
I know they're lots of factors to be considered when it comes to profit and loss ish in a company e.g Disney+, expenditures, tax, revenue from subsidiaries, acquisition of properties etc, that I know and understand but with a revenue of $9b+ from six movies, such shouldn't have occurred, the revenue should have covered up or made up for it but they couldn't because they didn't make high profits to do so.
But I'm happy that Disney were able to make Profits in the next quarter, besides Disney has a lot of hit and profitable franchises with them e.g MCU, Star wars, Avatar, Pirates of the Carribean, Frozen, Toy story, Ralph, Croods etc
But one thing we need to understand is that, billion dollar grossing or high grossing doesn't necessarily equate to high profit. When I personally discovered that, I stopped bothering myself on how high a movie grossed or if it grossed billion dollar to what profit did it make in terms of gross and net.
PS: I have no issue with Disney and Marvel, common, why should i? besides Spiderman is my 2nd favorite comic book character after Batman.
#Xavier. #I_Am_A_DCian. I'm not sure what's wrong with his quote; especially the part that you highlighted. The Lion King = $1,656,943,394 WW Aladdin = $1,050,693,953 WW Frozen, in fact, didn't do that bad either. The only problem is that Disney is faking all of the box office numbers just to make it look like they're successful....or so I've been told..... |

Darkprime: They used to. Sold them, but now it's on sale. Honestly it'd be good to have Hulu buy them and put the debt on Hulu. Movies include Pulp Fiction, No Country for Old Men, and many others. It's a good library. The Miramax library is certainly strong. But I question whether or not its 90s-centric slate would drive viewers to Hulu in sufficient numbers to justify the large expense. It would probably make more sense to invest the hundreds of millions in new potentially bingeable content. And does The Mouse want to be tied to Miramax again after being blamed for funding Weinstein's horrifying behavior during the label's heyday? I wouldn't be surprised if, within a few years, both Hulu and ESPN Plus are consolidated into the Disney Plus App, joining Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic as the top brands for the streamer. |

IAmSabrina: I just noticed that The Licensing Letter updated the retail sales chart:
This is probably the first time Spider-Man is not #1. In merchandise retail sales, Spidey was the leading superhero character worldwide, beating out the Avengers, Superman & Batman.
2017: 1. Spider-Man, 2. Avengers, 3. Batman. 2016: 1. Spider-Man, 2. Avengers, 3. Batman. 2015: 1. Spider-Man, 2. Avengers, 3. Batman. 2014: 1. Spider-Man... 2013: 1. Spider-Man...

Vic2Ree: https://geektyrant.com/news/marvels-dracula-is-now-rumored-to-appear-in-disneys-moon-knight-series
Marvel’s upcoming Moon Knight series seems to be shaping up to be a monster fest, which would be awesome! It’s previously been reported that Werewolf by Night, Bushman, and Stained Glass Scarlett might appear in the series as villains. Now, according to Marvel scooper Daniel Richtman, Dracula is set to appear in the series as well.
Dracula, based on Bram Stoker’s novel, originally debuted in Marvel Comics in 1972’s The Tomb of Dracula #1. The character has changed a lot in the comics over the years. His most recent storyline involved uniting all the world’s vampires and going to war against The Avengers. Marvel needs to bring that story to the big screen! That would be wild!
Hell yeah! Bring on the drac! Not buying this news at the moment |

Darkprime: Steinfeld apparently has a clause in her contract that prevents her from appearing on another streaming service, that could be a hold up too. I don't even care about Kate Bishop. I hope Marvel rethinks Hawkeye, and gives him a solo movie. They have 12 dates (2022 to 2024) to fill after all. Its just weird that he's an og Avenger and Black Widow is getting a film despite being dead and they are just giving him a streaming show. |

Minemrys: i remember s0me tagging me a snyder fanboy when i tried to prove to them that, had M0S or BvS had a marvel studios logo, their rating would've been higher than the final product. S0me here failed to see the actual message, thinking it was s0me pr0m0ti0n for snyder. N0w it's what? Yearz g0ne by. I've always kn0wn of the bias, and it didn't start n0w or with aquaman. Plenty of youtubers and bloggers are biased to hell and back - in every direction, including anti-Marvel. The idea that any of them are being paid by corporations is laughable. The corporations don't need to pay them. They get paid because hyperfans provide endless clicks to whatever pages or channels agree with their pov most fanatically. If there are ever times when it looks like one fandom has a lot more of those pages than another, that just means that that particular fandom has more hyperfans willing to click anything that pops up. And that is a factor that is always changeable. DC's been on top before and it will be again at some point. Maybe even some point soon, given Aquaman, Shazam and Joker. |
