I don't think there's another way to check. But if your yellow card was gotten in 2022 - the one with the barcode, you are good.

Phunky44:
Thank you so much.
Please how do I check the validity/ authenticity of my Yellowcard. I got it in 2022 . It seems the Yellowcard website to check the bar code is no longer working and I don’t want the yellowcard to in anyway affect my application. Please is there a way to resolve this? Thank you

Please is there a minimum amount to have in our bank statement for the purpose of this application, also can I share an investment account instead of a regular transacting account.
Have enough to cover your trip. ₦1m above is okay. You can share both investment and regular statement of account.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Africankel(m): 4:57pm On Jul 06, 2025
1. Form is correct.

2. Family photos may not be acceptable. Your marriage certificate and especially birth certificates of your child(ren). Please download the checklist on VFS website.

3. Do not use Hampton. You will not be refunded if your visa is refused. I book and pay because I have 90% guarantee of my visa being issued. Search for hotels in the exact area you want to stay. Sandton is an expensive area.

4. Yes

onile1975:
Thanks again @Afircakel

1) below form that I download at Vfs site, is it the form?

2) do they accept family photos as part of supporting documents?

3) I was making reservations at Hampton Hilton hotel and they said I should make payments, but if visa is refused , those that means the money is gone?

4) Do they accept 3months bank statement for a self employed business man travelling for holiday trip?
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Africankel(m):
You can submit tomorrow, note the following however:-

i. Your online statement won't work. Go to the bank and have them print, stamp and sign all the pages of your account statement. In addition to the reference letter.

ii. Your friend's ID should be certified by the police in South Africa.

If you have the correct documents, and your application is straightforward, it may be granted. Note that your personal and economic circumstances are also factors that'll determine the issuance of a visa.

Phunky44:
Please do you think tomorrow is still ok to submit my application as I am currently missing a bank reference letter and my online bank statement has only a stamp not signature which I feel wouldn’t work based of the information on this thread. Also my purpose of visit is to see my friend and tourism. My friend is an SA resident and has given me invitation letter, his utility bill and proof of ID and accommodation. Please is there anything you think I need to add that might better support my application. As a denial might affect my reapplication since I’ll be pressed for time.

You may drop your questions here. Or, click on my username to send me an e-message. I got blocked for about an hour while trying to drop my contact.

Phunky44:
@ Africankel thanks and remain blessed.
Please is there a way to email or contact you personally. I will like to ask a question about my profile. I need to be in SA by July 25th and I am trying to book the evisa with VFS today or tomorrow but I don’t know if this will work with my expected need. Also I need guidance to avoid a denial as the 15 days tenure of getting the visa is extremely close to my July 25th need so I might not be able to reapply.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Africankel(m): 11:24am On Jul 06, 2025
1. Book directly from Ethiopian Airlines website https://www.ethiopianairlines.com/ng, prices are quoted in Naira. Moreover, you are not making any payment, so don't worry about the price. You can look for cheaper flights when you have your visa.

2. Refer to No. 1

3. Refer to No. 1.

4. The form is on VFS website, take your time to navigate and read through

onile1975:
@ Africankel thanks and remain blessed

Thank you I have gotten the place for 29400, that means am in a wrong site before

1 I try to search for flight prices from Lagos to Johannesburg in south Africa see the price I got for 4perssangers, 2Adult, 1infant and 1child see it below,is this true?

2) if this price is true, help me convert it to naira?

3) how can I make flight reservation from Ethiopia airways, I have there app can i do it on it?

4) send me the site where I can download there application form?
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Africankel(m): 3:58am On Jul 06, 2025
1. You may be on a different country VAC website. SA service charge is 29,400.

2. It doesn't matter if the reservation is cancelled after 24 hours, just ensure that your arrival and departure date corresponds with your hotel check-in and check-out dates. Use Ethiopian Airlines.

3. Your choice of hotel largely depends on your budget. I always use Hampton by Hilton Sandton Grayston, this is an expensive option - the location is also a factor, so I'll suggest you consider cheaper ones in a different neighbourhood.

onile1975:
@ Africankel God will bless you as you response

1) But when I log on Vfs global appointment site what they gave me as service charge is #58,824.00 see it below, or am in a wrong site?

2) about flight reservation, how can I book flights reservation that can be confirmed since most flights cancelled there reservation after 24hours?

3) pls give me the name of hotel you use during your own time, because they said we should booked directly with the hotel, with third party of booking.com
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Africankel(m): 5:04pm On Jul 05, 2025
1. Service charge in Abuja ₦29,400; Lagos ₦29,400; Port Harcourt ₦49,400. Statutory visa fee is ₦10,400. There may be another charge for courier.

2. Your closing balance will fly.

3. I have no idea where to get the yellow card in Lagos. In Port Harcourt, I once got from a Local Government Secretariat. In Abuja, I got from the Federal Ministry of Health. So I suggest you go to your Local Government Secretariat or Ministry of Health.

onile1975:
@ Africankel thanks for ur response

The service charge is #56500 which is close to what you said

1) How much is visa fees we are going to pay at Vfs global center?

2) please will 4.5million naira closing balance be ok for family of three ?

3) can we do the yellow fever vaccination at Lagos state general hospital in ur Area?
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Africankel(m): 2:22pm On Jul 05, 2025
1. Visa fees + service charge should be around 50k

2. As of recently, you should have ₦1m and above.

3. https://visa.vfsglobal.com/nga/en/zaf

2) how many months bank statements they accept for holiday visa?

You bad o 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

davodyguy:
Sometime in year 2024, I told here that you would be refused and let me tell you again, that if you apply again even next year, you'll be refused again the 7th time...

My last advise for you, forever,

Look for other countries to go and forget UK.

If you like pray, fast and join NSSPD or any mountain, it will be same outcome, because we're talking reality here not jokes.

God answers prayer, but if you pray to automatically start flying a plane with no formal training, then you're heading for doom.

So forget UK and try Qatar, any other African country

Then try Schengen before coming to attempt UK

I read that you're asking for details of Lawyer. If you hire Femi Fálànà (SAN) he will use your money to cool off, cos he lose the appeal.

Face reality and wake up. UK will not grant you visa anytime soon as this is becoming desperation

Let him continue writing long epistles in a desperate attempt to sound intelligent.

dvs511:
According to the email, it means;

Submit your original passport with your application and also include colour copies of the pages of the passport.
Afterwhich you can inform the consulate that you want to retrieve your passport while the visa processing is ongoing.
Retrieving your passport will not affect the visa process.
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by Africankel(m): 1:26am On Jul 02, 2025
Perhaps you should read my first comment. I stated clearly that "all you have to do is, attach a written request, including copies of every single page of your passport when sending them your documents."

Cheers!!!

sadegivens0:
@Africankel… It appears that we are still on this topic. Having read the email exchange between you and the Consulate. The email from the Consulate contradicts the previous statement about retrieving passports without prejudice, implying that the originals are needed for the initial submission. Here's a breakdown of what each part implies:

Content:

"You may retrieve your passports without prejudice to your visa application’s, but remember of making complete colorful copies of your passports, send with the originals, which will be returned to anytime at your order to some parcel service company, informing us ahead of time."
Explanation: This sentence is a bit awkwardly phrased but conveys an important message. It means that the applicant can take their passports back even while their visa application is being processed, but they must submit complete, color copies of their passports along with the original passports. The original passports will be returned to the applicant via a parcel service at their request, provided the consulate is informed in advance.
"Without presenting the original passports, though, your visa application will not be processed." This statement means that you must show your actual, physical passports when you submit your visa application.
Explanation: This is a crucial instruction. It explicitly states that the visa application will not be processed if the original passports are not presented to the consulate in the first place. This contradicts the previous statement about retrieving passports without prejudice, implying that the originals are needed for the initial submission.

Here's a breakdown of what each part implies:
"Without presenting the original passports...": This emphasizes that copies, scans, or any other form of reproduction of your passport will not be accepted. They need to see the genuine document.
"...though,...": This acts as a transition, highlighting the critical nature of the preceding condition.
"...your visa application will not be processed.": This is the consequence. If you don't provide the original passports, the people reviewing your application will not even begin to look at it, much less approve or deny it. It will be immediately halted or rejected at the initial stage.
In essence, it's a non-negotiable requirement. No original passports, no visa processing.
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by Africankel(m): 3:34pm On Jul 01, 2025
Attached is an email exchange between me and the Consulate.

sadegivens0:
I have done my own research but, i could not find any official information on the Brazilian Consulate in Lagos's website or other reliable sources explicitly stating this policy.

Here's what the official sources generally indicate for the Brazilian Consulate in Lagos

Traditional Visa Applications (Consulate-General in Lagos): The e-consular portal for the Consulate-General of Brazil in Lagos mentions that they operate with reduced capacity and processing times can be 30 to 90 days. For inquiries, they advise sending an email to consular.lagos@itamaraty.gov.br. There's no mention of a passport return service during ongoing processing.
Therefore, relying on the information you have without official confirmation could lead to issues. At this moment, the ball is in their court. I’m awaiting their final decision or next steps. With that, lets move on.

@Africankel

TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by Africankel(m): 8:06pm On Jun 30, 2025
For a frequent traveller, you can actually have your passport sent back to you while your visa processing is ongoing at the Brazilian Consulate. All you have to do is, attach a written request, including copies of every single page of your passport when sending them your documents. They'll send your passport back immediately, and request for it if your application is successful.

sadegivens0:
You are not lying about the UK. I want to say that we are human, we don’t want anxiety to kill us because 30 - 90 days feels forever and we are going to check status as many times as possible in a day.

I have also read on this thread some people are waiting 6 months plus. While there's no guaranteed exact date, applying nearly 2.5 months in advance significantly increases your chances of having your visa processed in time. Therefore, checking your email regularly is paramount because they might send you an email saying they need you to send something either by courier or email.

I wan ask one question, because am getting mixed opinions.

My 2year student visa was issued on my old passport that had a six month validity and it shows expiring 30th June but 2 year validity. I have a new passport now, but would I need to transfer the visa to the new passport ( how can I do that) or I can use both passports like that?

Thanks.

Please for the evisa application, flight booking is required. I haven't booked my flight yet. Is there a way to go about this?

Also they asked for accommodation booking. This has not been done yet. Please how do I go about this? The conference Organizers are doing the arrangements at a hotel but they haven't sent the booking details.
Thank you.
Book a dummy ticket on Ethiopian Airlines. Also book a hotel that doesn't require prepayment, make sure to do this directly from the hotel website.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Her course duration is for three years. Does it mean i pay for a three years medical aid without the visas been approved yet? Its quite confusing to me
If an insurance isn't a requirement for the visa application, I think you should wait till the visa is approved, and probably buy for a one year period afterwards.

I'm not sure how this works, but I'll opine that you buy an insurance that covers the duration of her stay.

Thank you so much for your assistance. Please I have another question. What's the difference between the VFS evisa and DHA evisa? Which is cheaper and has a shorter processing time?

Thanks again for your assistance.
Both visas are the same, except that the VFS platform has more staff attending to applications than DHA, which makes it faster. VFS is more expensive and has a shorter processing time, while DHA is less expensive and processing time can be up to two months in some cases.
TravelFCCPC Shuts Down TLS Visa Centre Over Consumer Complaints by Africankel(op): 6:27pm On Jun 19, 2025
FCCPC Shuts Down TLS Visa Centre Over Consumer Complaints, Assault on Officials

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed the TLS Visa Application Centre in Abuja following allegations of consumer rights violations and obstruction of justice.

FCCPC Director of Surveillance and Investigations, Boladale Adeyinka, who led the operation, said the action was triggered by complaints from Nigerians who paid for visa services that were never delivered. The situation worsened when TLS officials allegedly assaulted FCCPC staff and police officers sent to serve formal summons.

"Instead of addressing the complaint, their officers assaulted FCCPC operatives carrying out their lawful duty of enforcing consumer rights," Adeyinka said.

She explained that TLS refused to honour multiple requests to cooperate with the investigation, breaching several sections of the FCCPC Act. “In line with Section 18(1)(f), the Executive Vice Chairman, Babatunde Irukera, directed the sealing of the premises,” she added.

The Commission has now summoned senior TLS officials, including the country and centre managers, to appear by 2 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025. Failure to comply, Adeyinka warned, could attract up to three years imprisonment, a ₦20 million fine, or both.

"Section 33(4) also states that anyone who willfully obstructs Commission proceedings is liable to the same penalties. TLS’s actions clearly fall under these violations," she said.

The FCCPC urged affected consumers to submit evidence of service failure and warned other service providers that it will not hesitate to act decisively to protect Nigerian consumers.

If the purpose of travel is official and not tourism, send a letter via DHL to the High Commission.

If it is tourism, wait it out. Application processing takes up to three months.

Thank you. To clarify, for the evisa, are you referring to the normal application at VFS where I book an appointment online and go to their office to submit physical documents?

Also I saw there's premium service, is it worth paying for it? Thank you.
The VFS evisa is different from the normal (sticker) application where you submit documents physically. Aside the sticker visa, VFS has a platform for evisa which is costlier and faster than the evisa from DHA.

If you decide to go for the sticker visa (which I won't advice, given the time of your travel), do not use the premium service, it has no influence on your application.
