You have been to the UK 5 times in the past 10 years... The past 10 years for you is between December 2013 and December 2023. And within this period, you've gone to the UK 5 times.

TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Africankel(m): 11:22pm On Dec 24, 2023
Standard practice was to issue 3 months validity visa. In recent times, they reduced to 8 weeks for whatever reason. They never extend it to 6 months, no matter how many visas you've gotten. Unless you apply for long stay.

If they extended visa validity by the number of visas you've received or the number of times you've visited, I should be entitled to a 5 or more years visa by now.

Graceness777:
The truth is some visa officer are just something else
Especially South Africa visa officer they do as they want
It’s a sticker visa it’s only normal they issue 3month then six month
But no they believe and no the power is in their hands hence the issue whatever they like
To anyone struggling to get one country visa or the other
Don’t give up no matter how hard
And believe one day you shall have victory
I have applied for the sticker visa
7times
But because I am a first timer they kept denying me over plans over again
Until this year when I got my first evisa
And then this sticker one
So please donot give up
Especially when God has not given ip on you!.
Just to motivate someone

Hello @Hunee, Afrikankel and others,
Please I have been issued South African Evisa which states that validate date as 19th Jan and Expiry date as 29h January through DHA direct.

Since SA tourist visa is usually 90days, does it mean I can come in between 19th and 29th January then stay for not more than 90days or I was just given 10days visa to come and leave within that 19th and 29th January?
I have little or no knowledge of how the eVisa works. However, I think you have between 19th and 29th January to enter SA, it is up to border control to determine how long you are allowed to stay.

Any idea when UPs will deliver it?

How long did it take to get yours ?
It will be delivered by DHL, not UPS. They stopped using UPS in November, so anyone who paid for courier before then, will have their passport delivered by DHL.

At least this was what happened in my case.

I send several mails to vfs before reporting here. I even almost send a letter to South Africa embassy today as suggested by hunee before they placed a call to me to bring my passport. Which I have submitted to them today and also email confirming the reciept has being recieved.

My worry now is which airline can I get cheap ticket from for 5 people.
If you are going to Johannesburg, check Air Cote D'Ivoire and Uganda Airlines. For Cape Town, check TAAG Angola

Another option will also be to take your passport to VFS. To gain access, tell the security you want to submit your passport. When you get in, tell the staff your situation, they'll scan the sticker behind your passport to ascertain the status of your application.

VISA RECEIVED.

Application submitted: August 9, 2023 (three days after old one expired)

Passport requested: December 6, 2023

Passport submitted: December 7, 2023

Passport retuned: December 11, 2023.

Multiple entry (30 days stay), valid for 8 weeks... I'm concerned about the validity though, this would be my 8th SA visa and all of them were valid for three months, I wonder why this one is less.

My dear Ayo @Hunee, how long is yours valid for? Abi I should mail them, assuming it's an error?

Very correct! I had at some point presented a 120k account balance and got the visa.

There is something i had always wanted to say here just for the benefit of others. Maintaining a very solid portfolio is a key factor to having successful visa applications. This is what i have successfully been able to build over the last years.
It would interest you readers to know, that for all my South African Visa applications, i had little or less monies in my bank accounts. The last one, i didnt have a penny in my naira account. The 2nd was like 300,400k.
This is to tell you that strong profile and documentation matters.
I hope someone is able to get the message from this post and take one or two lessons for their future applications.
It is not usually about the millions, but your genuiness and ability to prove that you are a legit traveler.

Attach enough credentials and documents to back your applications.

I wish you all the best.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Africankel(m): 10:16am On Nov 27, 2023
Ah ok. Did this happen in Lagos or Abuja?

sanyaolurilwan:
Boss, I used all the terms, the security man categorically said they don't do walk-in, I said premium, they said they can only do premium for me on the date of my appointment if I come earlier than the time, maybe appointment is 2pm and I come 8am, I'd be allow to enter earlier on premium. I even called one of them to one side and talked to him, they all declined.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Africankel(m): 9:34am On Nov 27, 2023
Perhaps you didn't use the right term. Tell them you want to do walk-in. Getting in also doesn't guarantee submission, they'll only attend to you if someone missed their appointment, leaving the slot open. They'll also charge you for premium lounge (even though you won't use the service, this is what they'll use to cover up since you have no appointment).

This works for Italy, unsure if it works for France. It should, since both are TLS.

sanyaolurilwan:
Bros

I went to this office this morning, bros the security men said there's nothing like vip óò, I waited asking asking, them decline patapata.

Painful thing, I came all the way from one of the far states on the southwest.

@Africankel just confirmed he flew September 2023 to SA when his visa was about to expire. Just as you have read, so i will just lock up on the whole discussion on your visa possibilities, and hope it works out.
I aint commenting on it again.
Please keep us posted, we here to learn.
However, confirm very well from appropriate channels on possibilities. cases are not same and flight ticket is very expensive now.

These are the docs needed for your travel to SA
1. yellow card 2. Valid passport 3. flight ticket(Return) 4.Verified hotel booking 5. Some cash to show immigration(BTA) because you are a first timer. 6. If possible, your personal ID, Copy of visa.

safe flights.
To add to the bolded:- As a first timer, be sure your hotel dates and return ticket dates tally. It's also advisable to pay for your hotel fully before arriving in SA.

Any small mistake, SA immigration will send you back without thinking twice.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Africankel(m): 7:06pm On Nov 26, 2023
This man 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I understand your point perfectly Ayo. Given technical grounds as you have mentioned, I'd rather she arrives SA at least a week to the expiration of the visa.

That being said, having a visa valid for three months doesn't guarantee her to stay longer than 30 days. As long as you are on a visit visa, you must leave the country not later than 30 days of entry. If you have a multiple entry visa, you can even return the following day, however be prepared to face serious interrogation from immigration. So even if she apply for eVisa, na still 30 days stay she go get. (not validity)

My honest advice is, if she plans to stay longer than 30 days, she should apply for a long stay visa. With her employer providing all supporting documents.

hunee:
Speaking as a frequent traveler, Kel, the essence of the platform is to engage ourselves technically with diverse views. You have been to SA severally, would you advise a first time traveler to enter the country 2days to her visa expiration? I am just looking at the technical aspect, so i spoke about visa conditions, and i said cases are different. Remember, she is allowed single entry too. She also wants to stay longer in Sa, even beyond that Jan she said. For her employers to have issued her those documents, she may stay longer than Jan.
Reason i said, apply for an evisa for 3 month, should incase if the need arises to stay longer, you are covered. I am looking at it from a different angle.
If she needs further information, Contact the High Commission. I understand very well, Enter or before Big Head grin. I dey reason the matter differently.
I rest my case.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Africankel(m): 6:42pm On Nov 26, 2023
We should not argue about this. Firstly, the UK and SA issues different kind of visas. SA issues what is called "Entry visa", which doesn't affect the duration granted for your stay.

On the visa it clearly says enter ON or BEFORE. In other words, if her visa is valid till December 30, she can enter on or before that date and would have no problem staying up to 30 days.

My very last SA visa was issued in June 2023, and valid till September 6, 2023 (valid for three months), with an authorized stay of 30 days ON EACH VISIT, this is because it's multiple entry.

See the sequence of my travel:-

I arrived SA August 23, 2023, and was granted 30 days stay (note, the visa was to expire September 6).

I left on August 28, and returned on September 2nd (visa still expires September 6). And I was still granted another 30 days. I departed September 7 (one day after the supposed expiry of the visa.

If you've picked up your passport, you go see am say na enter on or before xyz date.

The lady in question should save herself some stress and write to the High Commission for clarification.

hunee:
Brooooo, 2016?
How many times has South Africa adjusted her immigration clauses since then. You should know better.

The argument here is her visa expiration and visa validity. Two things .
Unless she is the one not sharing the correct details, if your visa was issued 1st December 2023, and it is to expire Dec 31 2023, Just as she has said. Are you advising her to enter the country 29th Dec 2023 , 2days to her visa expiration and expect a 30day visa stamping? C'mon bro, you are a regular traveler, can you do this for UK? I know it is possible for kenya, cos i flew into kenya 2 days to my visa expiration in the past and got stamped 30days.
However , for South Africa, be guided. The immigration of 2016 is not same as now,but if you are sure of your info, let her give it a shot.

It is indeed accurate.

hunee:
Inaccurate
In 2016, I traveled on the day a visa was to expire, and was stamped in for 30 days.

Last visit in September 2023, my visa was to expire in 5 days, but I was still stamped in for 30 days.

1. If there's a timeframe for you to submit your passport for that country, request for temporary withdrawal of your passport from the Schengen country in subject.

2. If there's no time frame, wait it out.

Note: Schengen visas are adjudicated with 15 days, but can take up to 45 days in certain cases.

OGsponstaneous:
Hi everyone and sure trust you are having a good weekend. Please for those that have been in this category, how did you handle it? TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Africankel(m): 12:07pm On Nov 24, 2023
The duration does not matter. A 72-hour reservation is sufficient. What they want to see is a confirmed flight schedule.

sanyaolurilwan:
Thanks

British Airways required £5 for reservation but it's only for 72hours which might not be sufficient till when the visa officer confirms it before it is cancelled.

Please shed more lights on how I can go about it.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Africankel(m): 10:08am On Nov 24, 2023
You don't have to pay for the ticket. However, most reservations from airlines in the UK usually require payments of about £10 to £20.

N.B: Return Flight reservation from London to Paris
