I'm actually going for a workshop for a fellowship in SA (organised by a university) and hosts provided only accomodation details (address) and details of contact person in SA without a proof of address. Is the provided details sufficient for my purpose of visit or i necessarily need proof of address of host?

If the host is providing accommodation, it is important to show evidence of this. This can be in form of hotel booking or lease agreement.

You may need to ask them to send you documentary evidence for your visa application.

Pls i need advice on this, i made a flight reservation on Ethiopian airline website and i got the flight itinerary, however, the document states the reservation is valid for 24hrs or so. Please how can i get around this since, it's most likely that the embassy might not even review the visa application within 24 hours of submission?

Submit as it is. They are only interested in seeing your itinerary in and out of SA.

1. Add both bank accounts

2. Show evidence that you have access to the account.

3. Write a letter of introduction from the company in subject stating how much you will receive for the trip from the company. The letter should be signed by someone other than you.

There's nothing like "renewal". Every visa application is treated on its own merit.

The airline is good. For a 6 hour layover, I'd advise you get Angola transit visa, so you can step out of the airport for a few hours.

Applications cannot be made be proxy. Family applications can however be made by the HEAD of the family.

Unfortunately, I do not have any contact.

I haven't applied yet. However, I can confirm that:-

1. Egypt only issue tourist visas valid for three months. You pay for your preferred choice single or multiple entry.

2. Yes, it is sticker.

3. Your passport is submitted along with your documents.

Try reading a couple of the previous pages on this thread, you'll be properly guided on how to apply for a visa to SA.

I know I might likely be refused as well but I’m being optimistic as to I got a better chance there than here. I don’t know how fast one could get a visa appointment there coz the vacation will only last for a week or so but mind you I wouldn’t apply for a visa that short, probably like 8-12 weeks yunno cause I need the time for the entire process and I’d like to know everything about the SA visa application here. You CAN apply for a US visa from Cape Town. Upon booking an appointment, they'll ask if you are coming from another country to apply for the visa, your response will determine the appointment date they'll give you, as they prioritize citizens and residents.

That being said, any individual can apply for a US visa from any country as long as they are legally in that country, irrespective of status. However, those who apply in countries where they are not citizens or permanent residents may likely be refused. They also have to provide reasons other than convenience or unavailability of appointment in their usual country of residence.

I can however tell you for free that US visa interviews in Cape Town and many other parts of the world are a lot easier than Nigeria.

GIVE IT A SHOT. Just give them plenty reasons why you'll return to Nigeria at the end of your visit. And make sure you haven't overstayed your SA visa at the time of your interview.

You can also apply from Mozambique, Lesotho or Botswana. US Embassy in Botswana attends to none-residents only on the second and third Thursday of the month.

She’s been to Morocco the past couple years and SA is her next country on this continent and she wants me to come and she’s paying for literally every expenses.
My problem is I don’t know where and how to start the whole procedure and process of applying for a SA visa and mind you I don’t plan on coming back to naija anytime soon cause I’d love to move to the US from there hopefully which she’s aware of. I tried seeing what my chances are of getting a US visitors visa from here but it’s pretty slim. So how and what am I supposed to do. Thanks!

It's for a one week visit as a tourist.

Recall I mentioned in our email exchange that tax clearance wasn't compulsory as at 2023 when I applied. I think it is now compulsory for all tourist visa applicants. My visa renewal was denied some two weeks ago - the only document I didn't submit was TCC. There's also a checklist now of all required documents that must be ticked and submitted alongside your application.

This is a blatant lie. Morocco hardly ever refuses a visa except your application is not properly outlined. I've had three Moroccan visas, with the current one expiring on 22nd May 2024, and I never used an agent for any.

It has automatically been lifted. Again, I suggest you give it another year or two before attempting to enter SA. Traveling to only one country in five years won't convince them that you are a responsible traveler. Go to other places and don't overstay - this is what SA would use to judge you in your next application.

Reach out to the Nigerian Envoy in Vietnam, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.

I am aware that $250 is the appropriate visa for Nigerian passport holders, but asking you to pay extra is what I do not understand.

I just had a nasty experience at the Indian consulate in Ho Chi Minh City.

Here is the entire story:

On Friday, I went to the Indian consulate in HCMC to apply for one month tourist visa, after booking online the previous night. On getting to the consulate, the lady at the reception took my documents inside and after a while, returned to tell me that my visa has been granted in principle. That i have been issued with a single entry visa. However, I must pay 6.3000,000.00 VND about $250. I was shocked when I heard this because I already paid the agent that booked the appointment $100 thinking it included visa fees. They said it was because I’m a Nigerian and we are charged higher. Nevertheless, I decided to go ahead and pay the amount to save myself further stress. But the lady again, insisted I must pay cash.

I called a Vietnamese lady who accompanied me and she helped provide the balance because I had only 3+ million VND with me.

After paying, they collected my passport, Vietnamese visa and then conducted biometrics on me. Then I left.

This morning, I received a call from the consulate that I have to pay another 8 million VND otherwise my visa would not be issued to me. I was shocked and I told them that I can't pay a dime again. They either issue my visa or refund my money. The lady agreed that I should come and get the refund. However, on getting to the consulate, they refused to give me the refund. That it was a new policy. Eventually, I left with my passport. No visa! no $250!

I'm currently feeling robbed and dehumanized. I don't know how to go about this to seek justice.

Pls can anyone help me with advise or pro bono services because I believe I have a good case and such inhuman acts shouldn't be allowed.

pls I would like to ask this question again ,I had a banned 5 years ago for overstaying for 4 months ,The banned expired last year September ,wanted to ask if it’s okay to apply for SA again Incase I want to ? And mind you I have also renewed my passport and I have different passport number

Renewing your passport doesn't change anything. You have a unique DHA number which doesn't change with any visa granted you. Within the period of your ban, have you visited other countries?

I'll also suggest you wait till next year before reapplying, and make sure you state your earlier ban. Otherwise na another ban you go chop.

Since your stay is for two months, I'd advise you state that in your application, perhaps the conditions of your visa would be different.

They give three months doesn't mean you can stay three straight months. You are limited to 30 days per visit.

For programme to happen in August through mid october But not too sure when to apply because last year when I applied the visa came out after like 3 months and I couldnt attend the programme I wanted to go for as a result . Whatever is making him cry though. It is not a public supermarket. The said supermarket is located inside the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Entry into the compound is even restricted to those on appointment.

If Lagos is more convenient, apply there. The timelines are almost the same.

Same procedure with short stay, except that you'll have to submit a police certificate and radiology report. Long stay allows you stay longer than 90 days.

Please I have gone to submit my application documents at the VFS Lagos center since March 20, 2024. Till now I have not received any message from them concerning the progress of the application. I also tried to track it online using my unique reference number and date of birth but it's telling me record not found. Please what can I do in this case? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You should call and also send them an email, they should be able to rectify this.
