Vitra: Good morning everyone. Please I need help urgently. I am going to South Africa for the first time next month for a conference of about 3 days.
Please can Nigerians apply for evisa? And what's the difference between it and the evisa? Also which one is faster? Please can someone put me through the evisa and the normal process? Which is faster.
Also affer the work conference i might explore a bit of SA for 2-3 days. Please how can I tie that into my application. Thank you Given the limited time you have, apply for evisa through VFS, processing times is between 3 to 15 days. Limit your application to the conference alone, you can explore when you travel. |

Many thanks! I applied for short term and indicated in my cover letter that I intended to visit the Republic often within the next five years. I highlighted that it'll be administratively burdensome on me and the High Commission if I continued to apply for visas within the period. Additional documents submitted were police clearance certificate and medical report Kindly note that I've received nearly 10 short-term visas from SA and have visited about 15 or so times. Sojeezy247: Congratulations!
Please what category of visa did you apply for was it frequent traveler(long term) or short term, what additional documents did you submit and did you request specifically for a year visa in your introduction letter? |

I called the lady to ask her if she removed funds from the account she said yes... could that be the reason?
Can I reapply immediately? That's not the reason. There's a high chance you used online generated statement. You can reapply immediately, however, you need to have your statement printed, signed and stamped at the bank. Also add a reference letter from the bank. |

hunee: South Africa has one of the most complex visa departments. They deny your visa for no just reason. Check the pages back back, you will see different complaint Standfit, re apply ok but attach a cover letter by your lawyer as support and explain what you did better on the fresh application.
Goodluck Its really a sad thing. I believe they don't do their job diligently. Imagine my staff's visa was refused a day to an event citing that the event had lapsed - how can an event that has not happened lapse? They also didn't take into account an updated information (sent by courier) notifying them of a change of date. They were just determined to deny the young man a visa. I should add, that they contacted the event organisers like three weeks before to verify the invitation, which they did, only for them to deny the visa after how many weeks. We sent an appeal, they ignored. We had to begin using diplomatic channels, that was when they called the applicant directly from the High Commission to reapply, that they won't reopen a closed file This was on a Friday, and event was on Tuesday, just a few days away. By this time we had already applied for evisa for him (which was later denied) on the grounds that they couldn't reach the event organisers to verify the invitation. 🤣🤣🤣😅. |

standfit007: Hello good people. Please do you have a lawyer to use for appeal? I need legal service to package an appeal. Anyone can assist …was submitted in Abuja Forget appealing and reapply. We sent an appeal for someone recently, they ignored. After putting pressure on them through 'official' channels, they called and asked the applicant to reapply, as they don't reopen a closed visa case. |

Did he state that he was coming to see you? If yes, this may be one of the reasons for refusal. Despite having strong economic ties back home, having you in France is also a strong tie to the country. A man in love (with the stated closing balance) can decide to get married and start a life in France. Suggestion:- Give it a rest and reapply in another 3 to 4 months. This time, with another country - and no mention of you in the application. Appealing is a waste of time. JumaiAdama: Hello guys,
My boyfriend just got a Visa rejection from France Embassy after 6 day of submitting application and he is a first time applicant. It is funny how we submitted all the required documents and I have been on this thread for a very long life plus I am leaving in Europe so I have a bit of experience with visa application. We had the closing balance of 40m in both his bussines and personal accounts we carefully state his source of income, award letters of contract and landed properties that he owe and many more I am really shocked that his application was refused with this reason.
I don’t know what to do gurus in the house
Kindly advise the plan is to visit Europe to see me and go back to Nigeria.
Ties to home country-I have strong and verifiable social, professional, academic and economic ties to Nigeria, which ensure my timely return: • I am the active CEO/Director of my company, with ongoing commitments that require my physical presence. • My company is engaged in official contracts with the Federal Government of Nigeria, including the recent one with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. • I am engaged in an ongoing Masters program in Business Administration (Human Resources) at Ahmadu Bello University (currently in 3rd semester). I enrolled for the MBA Program after my Masters of Engineering (Structural Engineering). The program was to of having a broader understanding of Human resource management which has greatly helped in management of my company. • I am an owner of landed property in Nigeria, with legal title documents included. • I have employees and clients who depend on my leadership and availability. • I have close family ties and responsibilities in Nigeria. |

Desperadooo: Can I book a one way flight for a one year posdoc with TAAG on a long term visitor's visa? Book return and cancel when you enter the country. It is important to show your intention to return to your country after your studies - and a return ticket is the only way to prove that. |

Desperadooo: Goodevening everyone. I and my wife got postdoc and applied for visa separately..they approved a one year visa for postdoctoral research. I booked my flight one way flight separately through wakanow TAAG airline. My wife booked with our children the next day, a one way flight, the wakanow agent sent a message that she is supposed to book a round trip for herself and the three children since it's visitor visa. But my agent did not tell me that We don't have the money to do that Is there anyone here who got a visitor visa on postdoc who went to south Africa for postdoc and booked only a one way flight? Please I need guidance. Thank you very much. Check the condition written on your visa. If it says "must hold return ticket", you must have it. |

Thank you for your response @hunee. We've already applied for the e-visa via VFS tonight, hopefully we get a response soon. Yes, I've actually thought of applying for a long-term visa, but this particular trip was unplanned. Merci hunee: @Africankel, sorry for not meeting up with time. I just returned home and slept off for a short nap.
This is the link to apply: https://ehome.dha.gov.za/epermit/login Please start quickly if you know you will be traveling next week.
As for the issues with home affairs, it is even more serious in South Africa right now. We will revisit the many problems of home affairs at a future date. Congratulations on your visa but how about applying for a long term visa rather than always applying for SA Visas. I have a long term tourist visa i applied for last year, this has saved me from multiple tourist visa applications like before. All the best and keep me posted. Regards |

@hunee
UPDATE ON MY STAFF VISA APPLICATION.
1. After the back and forth exchange of correspondence, the High Commission went mute for weeks. This forced the event organizers to postpone the event by a few weeks, giving the importance of our participation.
2. We immediately contacted the High Commission with the new date, our letter was received the same day (one day to the old event date). That evening we received an email from VFS indicating movement of application (this was an indication that the visa had been denied, as we didn't submit his passport). We received the package two days later. Reason for denial was that the event had lapsed. The adjudication was wrong. Even if they didn't take into consideration the new date which we communicated with them, how could they claim the event had lapsed when the old event date was April 8, and the adjudication was made April 7. We sent an appeal - no response yet.
3. I had to apply for myself last week Wednesday to personally attend the meeting. Application arrived the High Commission the next day, Thursday. This afternoon I received a mail to submit my passport. Process took 2 working days.
4. I want my staff to apply for e-visa via VFS, kindly share the link. Any idea what the processing time is? Event is on Monday and I need him to travel this Saturday. |
