Texas set to execute 500th inmate since U.S. reinstated death penalty

Barring a last-minute reprieve, Kimberly McCarthy will earn a notorious distinction in death Wednesday.

McCarthy, 52, is set to be the 500th inmate executed in Texas since 1976. The former occupational therapist was convicted of murdering her 71-year-old neighbor in 1997.

Authorities said McCarthy entered the retired professor's home with the intent to rob her. McCarthy repeatedly stabbed her and then took her credit cards and vehicle.

Texas has led the nation in the number of executions since the death penalty was reinstated in 1976. But the number of states carrying out capital punishment continues to drop.
Florida bill would speed up executions

Last year, Texas executed more people than it sentenced to death for the eighth straight year.

Four states -- Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Arizona -- accounted for three-fourths of all U.S. executions in 2012.

Oh which way nigeria. Even the youths of the country most of dem are confused either fighting for religion sentiment or tribal sentiment , imagine common oil bunkering death penalty but all corrupt
Who stolen our money are working freely in our street some where even pardon for a job well down
..........
Bob marley said almighty god is a living man, you can fool some people sometime but you can't fool all the people all the time
but in nigeria is different. A graduate with degree is after religion and tribe politician belong before he can cast vote and say something good or bad about him

Well let's still keep waiting for god interval . Una go wait end time go meet una una go make history for earth as the only country with resources without stable power and good road

shymexx: Who's "Harbert Einstein?" - Bwahahahahahahaha

Albert Einstein didn't invent no nuclear bomb - and Albert Einstein "probably"(probably is in quote) never invented anything of significance... Hence why most eggheads think he's one of the most overrated people ever...

Btw, Iranians are mostly Persians not Arabs.... The Persians probably invented about 30% of everything we've got today - their civilisation is more than 3,000yrs old...

Don't underestimate them...
IRAN are the Babylonians the Persians, never u underestimate iran my broda they are the only country in middle east to ever hacked take control over U S drone and brought down the DRONE, ADVANCE DRONE, most of us here does not really know where middle east power is ...... i pray not for war between the both side because it might lead to world war

Christianity EtcWho Should We Really Believe Among The 3 Abrahamic Religions About JESUS? by africanunity(op): 2:23pm On Mar 14, 2013
Jesus (pron.: /ˈdʒiːzəs/; Greek: Ἰησοῦς Iēsous; 7–2 BC/BCE to 30–36 AD/CE), also referred to as Jesus of Nazareth, is the central figure of Christianity, whom the teachings of most Christian denominations hold to be the Son of God, and is regarded as a major Prophet in Islam.[7] Christians hold Jesus to be the awaited Messiah of the Old Testament and refer to him as Jesus Christ or simply as Christ,[8] a name that is also used secularly.
Virtually all contemporary scholars of antiquity agree that Jesus existed.[9][10] While the quest for the historical Jesus has produced little agreement on the historicity of gospel narratives and their theological assertions of his divinity,[11][12] most scholars agree that Jesus was a Jewish teacher from Galilee in Roman Judea, was baptized by John the Baptist, and was crucified in Jerusalem on the orders of the Roman Prefect, Pontius Pilate.[4][13][10] Scholars have offered various portraits of the historical Jesus, which at times share a number of overlapping attributes, such as the leader of an apocalyptic movement, Messiah, a charismatic healer, a sage and philosopher, or a social reformer who preached of the "Kingdom of God" as a means for personal and egalitarian social transformation.[14][15] Scholars have correlated the New Testament accounts with non-Christian historical records to arrive at an estimated chronology of Jesus' life.[16]
Most Christians believe that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, performed miracles, founded the Church, died sacrificially by crucifixion to achieve atonement, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven, from which he will return.[17] The majority of Christians worship Jesus as the incarnation of God the Son, and the Second Person of the Holy Trinity.[18] A few Christian groups reject Trinitarianism, wholly or partly, as non-scriptural.[18][19]
In Islam, Jesus (commonly transliterated as Isa) is considered one of God's important prophets.[20] In Islam, Jesus is a bringer of scripture, and the product of a virgin birth, but not the victim of crucifixion. Judaism rejects the belief that Jesus was the awaited Messiah, arguing that he did not fulfill the Messianic prophecies in the Tanakh.[21] Bahá'í scripture almost never refers to Jesus as the Messiah, but calls him a Manifestation of God.[22]

The Guinness Book of Records have facts---verified birth certificates. Are you telling me that you would choose to believe someone who has absolutely no proof than the person with proof? Haba.
lol. my broda i'm not against proved or fact about the birth certificate, what i'm trying to prove here is if it happened to be a western issue they wouldn't

have base their fact on birth certicate, scientifically they are other numerous way to at-least estimate someone age. like DNA test bone test and few other,

so to base everything on birth certificate means most of the developed countries then will be far ahead of others intense of accuracy
