sod09: Especially mustafi that guy suffer Mustafi is useless. A neutral fan would be able to give a fair and balanced assessment. Some of you guys are too close emotionally to give a fair judgement. Mustafi has the awareness of a blind man on a major highway. Go back and watch him closely. He is really useless in terms of what is going on around him. Defends like he is looking through a pinhole camera. |

kokanepyramid: No one expected ESR would be able to fill that shoe like this, even at that considering his age he might be unable to deliver this kind of performance week in week out. Cos I Won’t want him to burn out.
That said, I never said Gabu wasn’t a good addition but my point remains he wasn’t a necessity and wasn’t a priority in solving our problem considering paucity of funds.
When you want to solve a problem you start from the solutions that will have greater impact. Results has shown that Gabu’s addition didn’t have a significant impact in solving our pressing challenges.
If Luis and Mustaffi were the CBS during our losing streak I’m sure they would have beeem scapegoated and not shielded the way Gabu is being shielded even though I agree the goals weren’t totall his fault. This was my stand last season as well.
Fix midfield, fix attack the last piece is defence. That’s how clubs that dominate do it. If defence wins you league Athletico Madrid should have the biggest laurels in modern football. You have the 5th best defence in the league and you are saying Gabriel was not impactful. Replace him with Mustafi and all those 1-0 and 2-1 losses become 4-1 and 3-0. When you want to correct a problem you need to do the right things first. You can't do the wrong things and expect good results. The right thing was to play your best players i.e Saka, Ozil, ESR, Martinelli NOT Willian, Pepe, Willock. Arteta caused the problem by going defensive playing 5 at the back and playing attacking players known for their work rate and defensive discipline like Willock and Willian instead of flair players like Saka, Nelson, ESR. Which attacking player did Arteta buy in December to effect this turnaround? Why are you now scoring multiple goals in your matches? Who are theses important acquisitions in attack that have made this attacking football possible?

sod09: The issue was buying more defenders when he could have gotten better midfielder. Do you believe good midfield will ease defence affairs and also improve attack? Some of us like me think buying Gabriel was not necessary considering the number of defender we have instead of going for attacking midfielder. I'm not saying Gabriel is not good but was that the main priority? A case study is presently, he isn't playing and we winning with CS everyone know arsenal defenders are clowns but if we have better midfielders to ease the pressure on them they will make less mistake. As it stand now even if we have VVD and koulibally in defence we will still concede stupid goals because my problem lies in that midfield of xhaka especially and his partner. When last did you see arsenal dominate midfield against big team? Why are you people making it seem like he bought 5 defenders. He bought only Gabriel and recalled Saliba. He also bought Partey for the midfield and only injuries have stopped you guys from seeing that that was an equally significant signing. Partey and any of your CMs with ESR/Ozil with Saka, Martinelli, Auba in front and Nelson, Pepe, Laca as subs is a good line up. Bellerin and Tierney as overlapping FBs. A midfield of Partey, Torreira, Elneny, Ceballos, Ozil, Guendouzi, ESR is good enough but your manager and board made bad decision after bad decision and you started relying on Xhaka and Willock. An attack of Auba, Martinelli, Saka, Laca, Pepe, and a new player not called Willian is good enough but your coach made wrong decisions. You guys didn't buy these attacking players in December, they were always there but your manager was clueless about how to integrate them. That is the No1 reason for your struggles.
Imagine playing a flying LB with wicked left foot like Tierney as a LCB just so you can field as many defenders as possible. That alone is close to a sackable offence. I watched Tierney before you guys bought him and i felt he would be an attacking upgrade for us only for Adete to play him as LCB. Imagine giving a fearless youngster like Saka measly minutes when he is obviously ready and better than Pepe and Willian combined. That Willian deal on its own should be a sackable offence for whoever approved it. The major reason you guys struggled was not lack of attacking players BUT your manager playing defensive formation and relying on more experienced but off form attacking players.

Leyqute: LooL. After collecting money Atalanta no wan release player. Na real wah. I believe Man Utd are insisting on him coming this January not because we desperately need him but to see what quality he really has. If he impresses this season then we won't make that big money move for Sancho (or any other top RW) in the summer. However if he struggles badly and Pellistri also is deemed to be unready then Sancho rumors will start again at the end of the season. |

sod09: No that was the truth, I was just tired of raising the issue again Gabriel hasn't played the last 2 matches and it's fine. Still not saying he's not good for us But all the attacking flair you people are using now was there from last season. Saka, Martinelli, ESR were not bought this season. The point I made was you had enough talent in your team to play good football and score goals however Arteta short-circuited the season by playing defensive formations and persisting with Wilian, Pepe e.t.c and ridiculous choices like Tierney at LCB. |

I am sorry but why is he asking ME that question? Did i call Amaka a failure for losing 3 SFs? Why not direct the question to the appropriate direction? |

Lana1: Ole is not on Bielsa's level yet he schooled Bielsa and na McTom wey turn Zidane untop Bielsa's head. Not even Pogba or Bruno. We'll see how far Leeds attractive football and shitty defence gets them this season.
In the meantime, we'll keep praying for Bielsa to get noticed by a top club even if na for half season so we can finally see that level you say he's on that Ole isn't. This is agenda driven stuff rather than logical. Continue. |

patrickmuf: My point exactly... He is tactically inflexible and stubborn but as a trainer he is basically a god. Also his man management skills are hit and miss and work better with young players rather than experienced players and stars. |

Lana1: Azzin. The same way they were telling us to "see Lampard" "see Rodgers". We are still seeing them o. Infact we cannot see them again. They are in Ole's rear view.
I've not seen much of BielsaBall like most old cookies here so I looked the guy up and all i saw na 2nd place finishes. The guy na serial loser. Even his win rate as a manager is poor. But apparently he needs good players and must manage a top team before we can see how good he is as a manager.
Almost every manager in the PL is allowed to buy players and look for better teams but Ole should have won something with "Lingard, Pereira and Lindelof". "The team was good enough". Bielsa is a good coach. The only problem is that he is stubborn and eccentric which is why big clubs avoid him. Most of these Leeds players that he is coaching are barely EPL standard and yet they are playing some of the most attractive football in the land. Bamford a Chelshit academy failure and certified Championship level striker is on double figures because of the number and quality of chances he gets. Let most of them move from Leeds and you will see them struggle. Bielsa's problem is his stubbornness which leads him to set up his team as if he has Laporte, KDB, Aguero instead of Aliovski, Dallas, Bamford. Let us not get it twisted. We are all happy Amaka is doing well and he seems to be improving but he is not on Bielsa's level. |

Leyqute: Hope y’all won’t change your opinion about Graelish in the next few weeks if his performance drops and Villa don’t win games. They lost this match that we are praising him nah. Last season he was always playing as a LWF and I felt he was holding on to the ball too much, but this season he has played several games as a no10 and even though he still wins a lot of fouls he is now making early passes. |

His stint could be 6 months and could be 16 yrs. I think you should just forget Poch agenda cos it might just end in tears for you. Several mediocre managers have fluked champions league victory so i don't want you to enter one chance if Poch flukes it. olabode89: McT is playing shiit... take him off for Matic or VdB He has made 1 or 2 poor passes but his energy is needed for now. McGinn and Luiz are animals and Grealish also is playing centrally. Definitely not VDB as that would isolate Fred in the defensive midfield against multiple threats. Maybe Matic towards the later part of the game if we are still leading and the Villa players are tiring. |
