OtemAtum:For a very big laugh I have to laugh in the most high....... Just the way I would laugh if I was very high. |
You guys have a committee of clowns in central defence but think the problem is in attack. ![]() I laugh in OtemAtum. |
patrickmuf:Whether Rashford will start on not is up for debate but no just dey drop names anyhow to support the argument. Out of the last 4 seasons Lemar has been off form for 3 of them. His last season in form was 2016-17 when all Monaco players including Mendy, Sidibe, Bakayoko looked world class. It is time we asked whether Lemar was a flash in the pan. |
Leyqute:The trick in resting players is to rest some and play some, not rest en masse. For example if you rest Pogba you still start Bruno, or if you rest Bruno and Pogba you must start the front 3 of Martial, Rashford, Greenwood. Ole will rest the whole starting midfield and 2 of the starting attack in one fell swoop. That is a recipe for disaster. |
Leyqute:There is always room for improvement and i have always said when it comes to natural talent Greenwood and Martial are a level above Rashford. Hence my view that Rashford would be the likely long term casualty if Sancho comes in. However Rashford has always made up for his technical and decision making shortcomings with superior work rate and pace, so it is not surprising that he struggles whenever he can't call on his athleticism. His decision making continues to improve, it is actually his lack of aggression and pace since the restart that has made him struggle. He is not playing with confidence because his body is not giving him the confidence he normally has. We should just hope he recovers that athletic ability and pace as well as his confidence. He will never have the finishing ability, decision making or link up play of Martial or Greenwood AND they will never have his peak pace and work rate. |
eph12:Lol you want to drag him over the last couple of games? Hehehe. Someone who is obviously still suffering the ill effects of his head injury, likely has significant concussion symptoms. If not for our desperate situation and the EPL’s lax health policy he would likely not even be allowed to play. NFL would likely have forced him to sit out those games. It’s like those who have been dragging Rashford unnecessarily since the restart don’t know what a stress fracture in the back can do to you. Rashford has been measuring how many times he runs and even how fast he runs like someone measuring derica of rice. My hope is that he recovers from it. |
eph12:Willians is good going forward. You can take that to the bank. Whether RB or LB. However the same issues that i listed for Shaw also apply to Williams. The LB does not get the ball in time and with the right spacing. Compare that with AWB who gets a couple of seconds to struggle to control the ball on the right because he usually has acres of space around him. I watched Williams in the youth team for enough years to be certain that making overlapping runs is not his problem at all, defensive discipline and focus is. |
eph12:You get agenda against Shaw. ![]() First it was in the Maguire case now it is Rashford’s. 1) Shaw has actually been making more runs since the restart, just that the forwards have not been able to convert some of his passes. 2) There is less space for the LB to run to compared to the RB because almost all of our first team forwards apart from Greenwood prefer to be on the left, hence our team (and consequently the opposition) drifts and chokes up our left leaving acres of space for our RB to run into. 3) Even though Rashford’s game has altered a bit since his injury he still hugs the left touchline more than Greenwood on the right. Greenwood comes infield more giving more space for the RB. 3) Lindelof on the right passes the ball early to his RB and RW unlike Maguire who spends 7 days and 7 nights on the ball before WALKING towards them and THEN passing the ball. Someone should tell slabhead that the ball moves faster than a human being. It is not rocket science. Just a simple sturvs. |
patrickmuf:Who da fuk is Lemar? Lemar showed 1 good season of football in a Monaco system that made Mendy and Sidibe look like world beaters. The French themselves who have known Lacazette since childhood know that he is a limited player, that’s why he gets dropped without much uproar. Martial lost his place in that France World Cup squad because JM brought in Sánchez in Jan 2018 to displace an in form Martial from the LW. Rashford gets into the squad easily but whether he makes the first team I don’t know. Mbappe and Rashford on the same team would be nasty though. |
Leyqute:Stress fractures are due to STRESS bro. It is almost always due to overwork. And when a young, fit athlete gets a stress fracture in his spine it is almost 100% because he is exercising or competing too much and not resting enough. |
raumdeuter:LMAO I was responding to your post, i no even read the guy post. What are you surprised about? Just another day in the life of another Togo born Chelshitter. |
raumdeuter:Nigeria wey experts don declare dead tey tey. Dis Nigeria wey dey walk around na korofo........no engine. |
raumdeuter:Hehehehehe. E talk say Jorginho should have FOWLED him. Bloody Chelshitter. Only Fowled? What about Owened or Rooneyed? Club of street urchins and illiterates. Abi dem born dis one for Togo too? Ibime abeg come carry your brother/sister. |
Panther7:We are doing more of the passing out from the back now. It has nothing to do with counter attacks. I am talking about situations like goal kicks when the 2 teams are set. Instead of launching the ball into the opposition half from time to time De Gea and his defenders now insist on playing out from the back even when they are in obvious trouble. |
eph12:The forwards alone can’t press. We can’t maintain a consistent press with a midfield of Pogba and Matic so we have to pick our poison. For you to maintain a good press you need to shrink the field. This means a high line for your defence (your CBs should be quick) This then allows your CMs to push up as well and join forwards in the press. This our current nonsensical system in which the forwards are pressing while Pogba and Matic drop off just makes it easier to get at our defence. |
larride:Our fate is in the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers. |
elampiro:I know. What i am saying is i don’t know when Ole fell in love with it. It can’t work with the defenders and the keeper that we have. |
I don’t even know when this passing from the back by force craze started. It seems the good results earlier deceived Ole into thinking his players were Brazil 1970 standard. |
Expert17:Kepa wey dey look like under-age for post. If you are a small keeper you have got to have excellent reflexes and be a great shot stopper like Shilton, Barthez, Casillas. If you are small and can’t fly then you are an orogbo keeper. De Gea at this stage is only marginally better mind you. Kepa reminds me of Fred. If you are a small DM like Fred you better be tenacious and quick like Kante or tenacious and rock strong like Makelele, Deschamps. Fred is another orogbo player. Small, slow, weak yet playing in a physical and fast paced league. |
Oasis007:Keeper Alangba. |
Nezzjnr:Fred and McTominay have played well against even better opposition than West Ham. It was painful to see Matic and Pogba struggling physically to cover ground at the end of this last game. Those 2 should have been taken out to preserve a few calories for Leicester. Ighalo could have, and should have gotten more minutes against West Ham and Chelsea. We don't have the quality of defenders or even the luxury to be playing out from the back against high quality sustained presses. In the Southampton game especially it was tactically inept to continue trying something that was obviously not working. He should have changed tactics and used the long ball on occasion even if it required bringing Odion Ighalo in early in the 2nd half. Starting Rashford and James in attack against Chelsea was madness. Neither has good linkup play in central areas and both are off form. Ole tries to follow Sir Alex's blueprint but he lacks one of the gaffer's natural skills, which is knowing when to use or rest players. |
Ibime:I was busy performing some medical procedures. And i also had to pay a visit to NihiLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLList's world famous barber. ![]() |
Ibime:C'mon now. Don't be hating. ![]() |
timbros:Wise King Solomon. ![]() |
elampiro:You are right that Pogba and Matic will struggle against quick midfielders but there is not much pace in that West Ham midfield. From around 60 minutes Pogba and Matic started walking towards the men they were supposed to mark. You can't have 2 tired chronic joggers in your midfield. Also when the front 3-4 pressed the ball Matic and Pogba sat back, leaving wide gaps between them and the forwards and thereby allowing West Ham to beat the trap easily. That you are slow does not mean you can't also get tired. Matic and Pogba are exhausted. The best bet against Leicester is for Ole to play McTom/Fred combo or McTom/Pogba combo behind Bruno. Leicester has quicker midfielders and attackers than West Ham so this Matic/Pogba combo will not work. |
CapitalCee:By the end of this match Pogba and Matic could barely lift their legs and were walking up to mark the West Ham players rather than running up to them. Yet Ole could not bring in subs to replace them. The major reason we have started struggling is cos the midfield trio is exhausted. They are driving on empty. |
Make we no lie make we no thief, we no deserve Top 4 this season. If we get it all praise to Atum, but we no deserve am. |
larride:Leicester is likely to win. The players were already tired before today and yet Ole could not bring in a good number of subs. |
macjireh:O K . |
Both games are important, but the Leicester game is key. If we beat West Ham and lose to Leicester we might still miss out on Top 4. If we lose to West Ham and beat Leicester we will definitely make Top 4. It won’t be a crime to win both games though. |
larride:What is the point of the Clowns in your post now? We all want the best for the club. Some of these insults are not needed. |
Expert17:Nah. 4 man defence. |
