There seems to be a calculated plan being spearheaded by some influential people at the Presidency to destabilize the SouthWest APC by seizing the structure of the Party from Tinubu's influence, maybe in the hope that he won't have as much influence as he did the last time around. But if care is not taken, this may end up being the undoing of this administration come 2019 because PMB is fast becoming very unpopular all over the country, including the SW, by the day, therefore if the administration doesn't begin to deliver on its promises, I don't see the President winning the region come 2019 (should he choose to run for re-election). With the hostile attitude towards Tinubu, he can certainly forget winning Lagos. I doubt if he can win Oyo as well again because Oyo is a very volatile state politically and the mystic that led APC to victory there last year has since worn-off. As things stand, Ondo is probably going to remain PDP considering this avoidable APC crisis that has the Presidency's fingerprints all over it. Politics 101 tells us that you can only rig successfully where you are popular, which was why Fayemi lost to Fayose, even though Oshokomole clearly had a lot of help rigging that election to unseat an incumbent. I don't know who is advising Buhari, but he needs to understand that he can't win re-election without the SouthWest and the Middlebelt where he is fast losing popularity (history has taught us that he needs more than the NorthWest and NorthEast to win an election, the SouthEast and SouthSouth are no-go areas for him), so he shouldn't make things any worse for himself by alienating the very people that helped him win the last time around (after previous failed attempts) for political neophytes who can't even win their own polling unit or ward. |

Peter is the cause of that, if true. Jude and Paul were more matured in their handling of the crisis. Peter was just behaving like a loose canon. |
Fayose should just let it rest with this his Aisha obsession. It's starting to look very ridiculous. |
modath:Crap! Sorry but you've obviously lost your sense of objectivity in this case. The protesting aspirants said they were given a copy of the original list of delegates at a meeting with the party leadership in Abuja, only for a separate (doctored) list of delegates to have resurfaced on the day of the election, and you think that should be swept under the carpet because (perhaps) your preferred candidate emerged? This is about fairness for goodness sake. Remove sentiments for a minute if you can and see the crux of the matter. In saner climes we wouldn't even be having this discussion because it's a no-brainer that such an election won't stand. |
modath:For the first time I must say that I am disappointed in a comment coming from you. When you say 'fair and square' you are definitely being disingenuous. Abraham isn't the only person that contested the result (infact he initially congratulated Aketi), but Oke and Boroffice did too. You should be more concerned about whether or not the allegation of the doctored list is true, or not. Let's even forget about Abraham for now. Do you honestly in your heart believe that it would be fair to Oke and Boroffice to have been cheated the way they apparently and evidently were by the changed and doctored list? Have a conscience please. |

senatorbayor:If you're being sincere then your response is not bad after all. I believe fairness should be the watchword here as the other aggrieved candidates should feel a sense of belonging and not feel cheated. Good afternoon to you too. |
senatorbayor:As an outsider I will like to ask you this and please answer in all sincerity. If indeed the delegates list were truly tampered with and there's evidence to prove that, what do you suggest should be done? Would you consider that fair to other candidates of the election and that it should be swept under the carpet? Forget Tinubu for a minute. |

Acting Manager of the station, Mr Chris Nwigwe, told newsmen in Onisha that the incident occurred at about 1.40 a.m.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/09/gunmen-attack-nta-onitsha-office-burn-building/

GMbuharii:Nna, that is what I am also thinking. Ugwuanyi should be proactive and not wait for another slaughter to take place under such pretext. This allegation should not be taken lightly at all. |
Ikechukwu48:Bro, abeg no vex o, but why do you always come across as always bitter, angry, and belligerent? I hope you are not like this offline, as in real-life, because boy! You go wicked o. lol |
APCHaram:Bro calm down. I asked you to educate me, but instead you are acting like a militant, all belligerent and stuff. Take a chill pill man. You are yet to provide any evidence to prove the assertion you made above, because according to available records, the first railway in Nigeria was opened in 1898 between Lagos and Abeokuta, a distance of 96km (more than a decade before the 1914 figures you presented). As a matter of fact the British government began construction of a railway from Lagos Colony to Ibadan in March 1896. The Lagos Government Railway began operations in March 1901 and was extended to Minna in 1911, where it met the Baro–Kano Railway that was built by the government of Northern Nigeria between 1907 and 1911. The two lines were amalgamated in 1912 into the Government Department of Railways, the predecessor to the Nigerian Railway Corporation. All this happened before the 1914 Amalgamation, when the Northern and Southern Protectorates were separate entities (or de facto countries, if you will). Even the Southern Colony wasn't merged with the Lagos Colony until 1906. Yet, Railways had already been built to Link Lagos with the hinterland of the wider region she falls under. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rail_transport_in_Nigeria As for the Lagos ports, work began on its expansion way before amalgamation, in 1908 to be precise and ended in 1912 (prior to the amalgamation), excerpted from "Artificial Structures and Shorelines" and attached below. It's like you are allowing Sanusi's statement to cause you to arouse hatred for other Nigerians in you, be careful bros. Hate is like cancer.

Bia OP, so you are telling me that from 1914 onwards up until Oil was discovered, it was Oil Palm money that was feeding the entire country? I thought Nigeria operated a Regional system and every region used their resources to develop their region. Edumacate me please. |
Wetim come cause the fight?? |
If truly he said that then it is very unfortunate. He should be magnanimous in victory. He hasn't even won the main election so he should take a chill pill rather than burn bridges. |
What crime did NestOil now commit to warrant this? These NigerDelta boys need to stop this nonsense. |
At least nobody will come and say it was not free-and-fair. |
Maintenance culture is ZERO in Nigeria. Imagine how they left such edifices to rot. smh. |
FreeGlobe:Look here Freeglobe or whatever. I used to be a Obiano supporter and the records ate there, but not after the way he is handling this Ugu controversy. I know he's a cerebral and intelligent man but he has allowed his sycophants like you to box him into a corner leaving him little room to maneuver. I can bet anything that he didn't sanction the $5 million dollars exaggerated figure but may have very well played into the hands of his sycophants. Believe it or not, he is starting to look desperate. He should either let the matter die a natural death, come up with irrefutable evidence to back up that press release that generated this controversy, or replace his media team responsible for this and let them take the fall for it. #Truth |
WTF Na the $5-million Ugu farm be dis? This is turning into a comedy. Just watched the vid and had to shake my head. Obiano is beginning to look desperate. Smh. |

I think it is Obiano's overzealous handlers who are making him look like a liar. Some of them go out of their way to launder his image by outrightly lying and exaggerating his performance. I remember one opening a thread the other day using fake pictures and the thread had to be locked up. I warned them then but they wouldn't listen. https://www.nairaland.com/3179900/gov-obiano-working-anambra-tomatoe#46791121 |
cktheluckyman:Sho! Oga sorry o. This one wey you carry this matter for head like gala so, I no mean to hit a nerve o. Some people don turn NL politics to their daily bread. You guys better be getting paid well for all this e-fights you engage in because of politicians. ![]() |
Smh. Which way Nigeria? Some of those women in the pix look hungry, like they're just there to mark register and collect their money and bounce. ![]() |

akinszz:Dino is a chronic and reputed violent wife-beater so this statement attributed to him shouldn't come as a surprise. He's been involved in physical assaults with his colleagues at the assembly with his clothes getting torn sef. He's a confirmed thug. |
Even Cross River too Militancy everywhere. It's like the militants want to turn the entire Niger Delta into a militant banana Republic. Lord have mercy! |
odiks:Nna bros you too make sense with this ya comment. Bar man, abeg give this man a whole crate of Origin. Don't worry I will pay for it. |
Chisos!! RIP. |
So? That doesn't make it legal. The popos will arrest him if they sight him. If such is encouraged even in America those folks would soon start robbing people in traffic. |
