This will be a GAME-CHANGER in the sector if this can be pulled off under Fashola's tenure. Truth is, without such deregulation of transmission and decentralization of the grid, Fashola will FAIL like every past Minister that handled his portfolio, even he knows that. The deregulation of the sector will remain incomplete without transmission deregulation/grid decentralization following suit. Nigeria needs this like it needs air, else we will never solve this epileptic electricity problem. |

Politics › Re: Why Is Enugu Attack Been Taken More Seriously Than Agatu by afroniger: 8:33pm On May 03, 2016 |
Simple reason is because the scale of this recent Enugu attack was unprecedented. Fulanis have been attacking Enugu and killing farmers for quite sometime but not on the scale of the last one, hence the response. |

If this report is true and not an exaggeration, then it'll be enough proof that Enugu men are cowards and a disgrace because by now there should be no Fulanis remaining in the entire state not to talk of inside Bush. What nonsense!! |

I'd rather this country divides than we go back to military rule. The serial military coups brought us where we are today. Khaki boys will just constitute another elite class of folks that aren't accountable to anyone, stifle development, loot the treasury and molest the citizenry with impunity. Na to dey pray for another coup to comot them when dem begin misbehave. #NeverAgain |

Politics › Re: BAYELSA STATE BAILOUT FUND HAS BEEN DIVERTED by afroniger: 8:12am On Apr 18, 2016 |
gbedighamfa: The Bayelsa State bailout fund(N1.28bn) meant for the payment of Local Govt staff of the state(which was delayed to avoid its diversion for election), has been diverted all the same.
News reaching me frm a union member has it that the state government is perfecting plans to pay only a month salary after bribing an influential Exco member of the state NULGE with N60m some L.G.A.s are being owed up to 10 months.
It might interest you to know that January, February & March allocations were not disbursed to the outgone L.G. Chairmen, meaning the state government has at its disposal over N2.5bn which, considering the wage bills of the 8 L.G.A.s, is enough to pay at least four(4) months salaries across the eight L.G.A.s.
FEDERAL GOVT PLEASE COME TO OUR AID. The fund has been kept for a different use. Paying a month salary out of between 5-10½ months salary arrears is callous & inhuman considering the fact that many L.G. workers took loans from their (salary acc) banks. Op, are you sure about your source? Because this is a very serious allegation o. |

OPCNAIRALAND: When Ibos are massacred by Fulanis anywhere, no Northern Governor or Emir or ACF come out in defence to account for what happened.
Why is Ibo leadership rushing to give account over five massacred Fulanis? It is as if they are desperate to wash their hands clean.
Are these leaders serious at all? Maybe that is because the Igbos are generally peace-loving, except for those misguided iPod terrorists youths. |
