PoliticsOkorocha, Ikpeazu Admit, Condemn Killing Of Fulani, Igbo By Kidnappers In Abia by afroniger(op):
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/04/abia-shallow-grave-ikpeazu-okorocha-condemn-killing-fulani-igbo-kidnappers-abia/

By Anayo Okoli UMUAHIA—GOVERNOR Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and his Imo State counterpart, Chief Rochas Okorocha, yesterday, admitted that a shallow grave with corpses was discovered in a forest in the boundary community along Uturu axis of Abia State. They said that the grave was dug by suspected kidnappers, who killed and buried five Fulani herdsmen and two Igbo men. They swore to aggressively tackle the menace of kidnapping in both states. They ruled out ethnic killing or killing by any group, saying it was a case of kidnapping.

The joint security meeting was also attended by some traditional rulers led by the chairman of South East Traditional Rulers’ Council, Eze Eberechi Dick. At a joint press briefing, shortly after rising from a joint security meeting of the two states, the governors attributed the killing to activities of kidnappers which they agreed needed to be tackled aggressively.

According to them, security operatives have been directed to raid the forest and clear it of miscreants, and warned that any property in which kidnapping activity was carried out would be demolished and the land taken over by the government. First to speak was Governor Ikpeazu, who condemned the killings and dumping of corpses in the shallow grave. He noted that his Imo State counterpart came with his security chiefs for the meeting, to fashion out ways of improving security.

He said that they would “re-strategise and make bold statements about the security challenges facing the two states; one of such is that we condemn the spate of kidnapping, especially the five Fulani men that were abducted and assassinated in the forest.” For Governor Okorocha: “We are here to join forces with Abia and to see how we flush out criminal elements in the two states, particularly the recent kidnapping of five Fulani herdsmen.
We condemn the killing of five Fulani herdsmen and two Igbo, who were buried in the forest. “The culprits have been arrested and they will face the full wrath of the law. I assure you that all of them that were involved will pay the ultimate price for their action. I also want to make the world understand that it was not an issue of ethnicity or hatred for any group, but a case of kidnapping. “We also looked at our porous borders and have declared a joint security patrol.

TippyTop:
If you're more than 17yrs you would realise Tinubu did same when faced with same dilemma.
Tinubu didn't malign nor try to blackmail the same tribunal judge he was expecting to grant him a fair hearing, under a hostile GEJ government. It's unfortunate that you Saraki supporters' best defense argument thus far is your allusion to Tinubu's case, which itself is a tacit admittance of your principal's guilt. undecided

Achuwa1:
U ppl should stop deceiving ourselves coz saraki aren't gonna loose dis case.
ask me why ?
coz the efcc & FG witness tht could indict saraki can only come from transaction of deposits made into sarakis acct off which efcc is claiming is state fund & of which they have no prove is state fund.
Already, kwara state govt.has made a comment concerning tht yesterday & I am sure saraki is going to use kwara state govt.to finish off efcc & FG coz the governor is his boy & as we speak NW,the state govt is already putting machinery in place to cover their end & lash efcc.
who looses at the long run ?.,.the hunter.
If he's so sure of winning this case why then was he running from pillar to post trying to stall/stop the trial? And if you all are truly confident that he won't lose then why are you zombie supporters screaming that the Tribunal judge (whom you all have tried to smear at every chance yet still expect to be fair and remain above board) is biased and being teleguided by the executive - which if true means his conviction is already a fait accompli and this whole trial exercise is just a mere formality. That you all are this confident in his eventual acquittal in spite of his shenanigans defies logic. Dude, you sound confused. undecided

I don't believe he still commands as much loyalty from his peers as the heading of the article suggests -- not even within his PDP support base, who ironically are already scheming to replace him with one of their own. Besides, the article only quoted 1 single senator who also happens to be from Kwara. undecided

Smh. I guess he's referring to those illegal Chinese gold miners and their Nigerian co-conspirators at Osun state. sad To think that some people somewhere are feeding fat on such illegality. Gov't needs to do more to arrest the situation coz it's unacceptable. We are talking multiple billions of naira worth of gold being smuggled out of this shores unaccounted for every month!

PoliticsRe: #istandwithkachikwu... by afroniger: 2:17pm On Mar 28, 2016
Kachikwu's problem is simply that he's a flip-flopper. One minute he's telling us Nigeria is currently increasing capacity to position her to produce more of the oil she consumes locally thanx to the revamping of the refineries, and the next minute he's saying the country is better off importing fuel coz it's cheaper that way than increasing capacity and producing locally. That's besides his latest gaffe about the prolonged duration of the current scarcity. Such conflicting utterances do not engender confidence from the populace that he's capable of proffering and effecting solutions to the myriad of problems bedeviling the oil & gas sector.

Smh. What a sad shame. It's obvious to any sane person that Fayose is more concerned about playing stvpid politics/political theatrics/propaganda and grandstanding than actual governance. I mean, is this what he intends to do for the remainder of his tenure?? Is he the only opposition governor in Nigeria for goodness sake, that he must place politics above governance and developmenthuh Even Wike isn't this toutish. Rubbish and nonsense. Gosh! Ekiti is in deep sheet.
