@Coolfaced8

I quite appreciate the intent of your posting and I based my response on the picture you used in trying to describe things. You see you said Women are under an Attack but they don't know. True but I'd rather say again that their thought process is too deep for them to even have a full grasp of the intent behind their actions most times.

I think you would agree with me that the Woman is the most intelligent of God's creation but also the most complex. Complex to the point that she sometimes would find herself asking why she does the things she does when she is quite sure that it is not particularly the right thing to do. Desire to dominate most times overshadow good reasoning in a woman. And that is why i think men are always on their guard even when a Woman is being submissive. Their acts, like the men folks are driven by interest not friendship. Talk about absence of permanent friendship. What is being referred to as permanent friendship or love is actually permanent interest in most cases. The simple difference is that Love or friendship should be without an intent or should be unconditional but that problably would be the case in Eldorado.

The reason why the Woman's underlying interest is taken more seriously is because of her position in the scheme of things. Whatever a woman does would usually have a ripple effect even without her knowing. We were designed to be selfless in giving, but we need to start asking ourselves as women why it will ever remain difficult to be that way.

That's why these days, most peaceful single girls find it more of a challenge getting married than the more outspoken ones becuase the guys would probably be thinking it's all a pretence until when the marriage is consummated.

My sister it is a very deep problem and I really hope that our elders would come on board on this issue. I would also love to hear from them.

@coolfaced8

You are correct. There is something that triggers the release of the good things embedded in a man.

The thing however is this: women are too deep for them to even understand the real intents behind some of their action or proposals.

Your story suggests a very submissive but smart woman.

Which brings me to my question: why a Pink bentley? Is it not because despite the fact that you are submissive, the inate nature of domineerance that every woman has is still lurking around the corner? I don't know what you want to tell the man that would make him convinced that you are not trying to seek attention and announce the fact that you are in charge, though in a subtle way.

So, here is an advice from a fellow woman, drop the idea of a pink Bentley"in your dreams". Also, when you are doing your thing or trying to do your thing, "think about what you are thinking". it would help you in assessing your real intentions. Most times, the best way to act as a woman with respect to what you call "job" is actually the exact Opposite of the first reaction that comes to your mind at the spur of the moment.

That said, Enjoy jare, and keep up with the Do bo si Yes Sir. It is the way and truth for a woman with a "job" to experience joy and fulfillment.

Your thread is interesting. I like that "Aye fa mi lete kin tuto" adage you used in describing how to treat a man.

Abeg finish eating and come and continue this manual you are drawing up. Plus the way you are flowing has some suspense spicing to the whole gist.

I'm staying tuned O!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: What Is The Basis Of Deciding Your Most Preferred Team In The English League by aftadocean: 10:36am On May 07, 2009
Can you imagine another level to fanatical passion for these football teams! I heard on the news just yesterday evening that a man hung himself at Nairobi because his team Arsenal lost to Man - U . Na wa o! Abeg guys, what's with the extreme passion for football? My Husband refused his meal last night because Barca dealt Chelsea a last minute blow.

I think this fanatism or passion is rather annoying and should be watered down. What do y'all think?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / What Is The Basis Of Deciding Your Most Preferred Team In The English League by aftadocean: 9:07am On Apr 30, 2009
I have been discussing the above topic with friends to really know why people express so much love and passion for a particular team even at a distance and when none of the team members bear the same nationality with you.

I have heard all manner of responses from people. Can you imagine a lady for example saying she is for Arsenal because all the guys are handsome(I actually made fun of her when I heard this,,  told her to send a copy of her most recent snapshot to them), A guy told me he loves Chelsea because it is the only English team that has groomed so many Nigerian Players, another said he loves Barcelona because as far as he is concerned, they are the strongest.

So guys, I'm throwing this question open, what is the basis of deciding your most preferred team in the English League?

By the way, i am not particularly a football fan, but I do some small analysis of the games, and based on my analysis of results, I would say Man U is the strongest.(Bear in mind this opinion is from a novice in football analysis)!

At times, I really wonder what prompts a person to sit down and punch your kind of mail which at the minimum would take 15 mins: I have a feeling you want to start another drama again and hence get NOTICED.

Friend, your mail is annoying first for starting out and not providing a conclusive end to whatever point you are trying to make and secondly and most significantly, you are trying to call attention to yourself, but on a wrong footing. Never forget that most of us here are faceless and so If by any means you get the attention it would be from faceless people like me.

Plus negative attention is not the best kind of attention.

If you care to reply my mail please be informed before hand that I wont respond Oh!. I just needed to drive home some points here.
Politics / Re: Fani-Kayode Blames Occultists For 2006 Plane Crashes by aftadocean: 4:46pm On Jul 02, 2008
Our leaders are simply down right wicked, dishonest and extremely self centred. These vices have eaten so deep into their Psyche that it is already affecting their sense of reasoning. This man that is blaming occultists for these plane crashes, how did he arrive at such a preposterous conclusion? May be he is actually a part of this so called occult group. Haba! what kind of country is this sef?

I mean we have brilliant people all over the place but our political class is not a fair reperentation of the kind of intellects we have as a nation. They only learn the antics of how to loot the treasury and what lies to tell however senseless to cover their tracks. hmmm,

It is a pity. Today again, i was reading in the papers how the River Niger Bridge may collapse soon. looks like there is nothing of value left out of this country anymore, and yet budgets are approved year in and year out.

To Allah ki a ye!( Amin)
Religion / Re: Some Of Pastor E.A Adeboye's Testimonies by aftadocean: 2:41pm On Jun 23, 2008
why r some people even judging this Adeboye, whether he is real or fake ,r we in d best position to judge him?

The above question was asked by JennyKadry. The answer to that question is that people are judging Adeboye, whether he is real or fake because He is REAL.

An average human mind will not debate on a topic the way this has been debated on if somewhere within that mind, it does not nurse a secret subconscious desire to work in that kind of power. An average Human mind will not ponder and debate on an issue that it is extremely sure of. Although we can't place it, our subconscious knows there is A God somewhere, who is Almighty and who does as he pleases with all of us.

This thread shows there is hope, Hope in the sense that people are looking for the truth amidst all the lies around us. Why not we all go back into our closets and work on our relationship with God in line with Matthew 6:33, and stop worrying about whether or not somebody is real or fake. Direct this same question to your self and your daily existence as well as your relationship with others.

Peace.

@Roughcut,

There was no particular reason for selling zenith, the only reason, which you might want to consider if you are keeping it for the longterm is the fact that it looks like a "one man business thing" Infact bearing this factor in mind, I am considering moving out of anything Dangote in the medium term. However, I am still keeping my bonus and rights.
Ikeja Hotels - I will take your advice on this.

@Aktopgun
Insurance, abeg i fear that sector no be small!

@Wanajo,
thanks , I was thinking in the same light too except for union bank sha
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by aftadocean: 10:11am On Mar 14, 2008
HA!! girl u re made for life with these stocks u have and the entry prices, too juicy. wow. u would laugh if i told u when i bought my first stock. i bow.

On trying to re-align your portfolio because u have 85% in the banking sector:

Diversification is good, very. but i wouldnt diversify just for the sake of diversification. u are already well-spread as far as i can see and u hit the market when things were still affordable, right now there's a lot of manipulation and over-value on the market. Where would u diversify into. the only major sector i see missing is the insurance sector and thats really good only if u are adept at CICO which u don't like. besides as bros Wanajo has told us here several times and we have seen too, the insurance sector is shrouded in secrecy re: their figures and business.

If i had this portfolio i would hold it because its the banks for now that hold the most value in the market, even if u have 85% of your portfolio in in them. at least u don't have afribank which may even still come good.

i Suppose u could look at transcorp    . I AM ONLY JOKING ON THIS ONE O!! .

As Faketan would say, "just my N1 worth of gist" abi faketan

Thanks a lot Aktopgun.

I actually have transcorp, but have written it off as bad debt. That was one CICO too many for me last year. But I believe there is still hope. I am actually thinking of Nestle if it ever comes back to N210.00 and May be guinness at N110.00.(Tall Order abi!)
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by aftadocean: 9:18am On Mar 14, 2008
Hello ALL,

I must say i am very happy and privileged to read the daily analysis of the NSE here everyday. I am somewhat a silent reader, 'cos our people say a fool is considered wise if he keeps his mouth shut. What I'm just trying to say is that he be like say i be moo moo(and to imagine that I thot i was hot!) as far as this stock thing is concerned and I have honestly learnt a lot more than i could imagine just by reading everything here on a daily basis.

There are too many names to send appreciation to - Aktopgun, thanks for those charts, it looks like they really work for the NSE, you are just wonderful, Blueband, windy wendy, Mr. Risky, Invisible, Easimoni, Yodiyokun, Ioma, Pumping777, the list is inexhuastible.

I need your advice sha!, please help a sister here. I am a long term investor and so when I buy a stock its for keeps. I tried this CICO thing last year, but got my fingers burnt largely due to the stock broker I used then, but honestly I don't think i have the liver for such now.I kind of stopped investing in stocks towards the end of last year for the reason that i felt i needed to reorganise my portfolio, because 85% of my stake in the NSE is in the Banking sector, and the thot of that kind of scares me. So please look at the stocks i am holding unto for now especially the Banking sector and advice me on which i can do away with and reinvest in to another sector of the stock market( I actually do not want to invest any new funds for now, which is why I want to reallign my portfolio).

BANKS
Union Bank average entry 20.44
GT bank  entry at 2004 PO price
Sterling Bank entry at 2005 PO price( then magnum bank)
Ecobank entry at 2005 PO price
FBN average entry 36.00
Fidelity entry at 2.30
wema bank entry at 2.40
Intercontinental entry at 2006 PO price
UBA entry at 2007 PO price
Oceanic entry at 2007 PO price
Access entry at 2007 PO price
Zenith Average entry of 13.90 - Have actually placed a sale order on this.

OTHERS
Nigerian Breweries entry 36.91
Unilever entry 13.50
Dangote sugar 2006/07 PO price
May and Baker 2006 PO price
Dangote Flour 2007 PO price
Conoil entry price 72.00

Friends, Which should I sell in the banking sector(i.e. that you do not advice to keep for a long term) and which other stocks in other sectors would be good for the longhaul?

Thanks for your advice.

Hello All,

Pleaseeeeee in the name of God, don't back out!!!! Abeg for the sake of we learners, please stay on this thread. Since the beginning of this year, the first thing i do when i come in every morning to my office is to log on to this thread and read insightful, indepth analysis of the Nigerian stock Market, what blows my mind is that Upon say i dey ground for Niger here, I am not half as informed as my fellow Nigerian friends in the Diaspora,

Abeg, I no say una fit yab me say I just dey read quietly, but i know mind, infact throw all the frustration at my desk and i would gladly pack them for you, just don't stop being a blessing.

No be every thing be money, knowledge is really power and that much i get on this thread.

Cheers!!!
Business / Re: Transcorp: The Fall Of A Giant? by aftadocean: 8:16am On Feb 26, 2008

Appreciate your analogy. However, as investors, we buy for different reasons. I acknowledge the fact that transcorp is not a giant as you read in my post, but I still went ahead to buy. Only few IPOs actually come out as giants.
Like you said, information is what drives a market. And trust me when I say Nigeria's stock market is inefficient, driven more by hear say and rumours rather than actual financial and ethical fundamentals as the case should be.

I really would love to rest my case here on this matter, but I ain't backing out from my optimism on transcorp. Why? you may ask, My risk appetite won't let me! and it has worked for me!
Business / Re: Transcorp: The Fall Of A Giant? by aftadocean: 8:52am On Feb 22, 2008
Food for thought for all:

1. Transcorp is not a Giant. Reason; A Giant describes something that went through the normal process of growth but grew beyond normal, bearing in mind it had at its disposal the same measure of resources as its counterpart or peer.

2. If you are an ardent follower of the trends in the stockmarket, say you have been following the Nigerian stock market for the past four to five years, you would have noticed something:those stocks that appeared to have no future back then are playing big now eg Afroil,Eterna oil and Afrprint to mention a few. The lesson ; Every stock has a season of stagnation, retrogression and a season of bounty.

Having said this, Transcorp will still experience a season of bounty. I know this might sound funny, but that is the beauty of the business environment. When I look at a stock like AP today, I really marvel at what a single move by one person can do. I invested in transcorp and The truth is if I had more money, I would buy more.

PATIENCE my friends is what y'all need to play in any stock market. The price at which transcorp is trading on the floor today is the real price of transcorp, and might even get lower, on the otherhand, virtually all stocks on the floor of the NSE are overpriced. An average Nigerian investor follows the crowd, Stocks don't work that way. Remember NASCON? One day trading and bla bla bla, where is it today? It will still pick up o! but I can tell you that all those that went to the floor to buy that day are short term investors, and so are not too happy with the way the stock has turned out.

Last year, Quite a lot of people went to borrow money to buy FIRST bank. What happened? Money was returned massively at an extremely lower interest rate than the interst rate to borrow. Talk about bandwagon effect. Right now, everyone is doing insurance(Laugh!). Well for those who are just buying into the insurance sector, Pray and Be patient, 'cos all those insurance stocks are overpriced.

For all transcorp investors, my advice is to be patient.

Family / Re: Your Career Or Home: Which Comes First? by aftadocean: 1:47pm On Jan 31, 2008
For a woman, in todays world, the best bet is to balance the two.Infact this days, most men would rather choose what they love to refer as an independent lady(be it a white collar job or simply buying and selling) over a housewife(which they have coined the word liabilty for).

Not forgetting that everything changes i.e situations and even we humans, I think it is best to play safe o!

Love your man the way he wants it,give them all the respect they need, that way he would not notice whether or not you are extremely career conscious or not. Infact if you are good at it he would even help out with the kids without complaining. Men do not like anything taking their place in their woman's life, whether job or children.

It is a psychological thing. So work on the man by loving him excessively, stop by at his office, call him on the phone, romantic holidays every now and then and treat him to some good TLC between 2300hrs and 0500hrs of the following day, not forgetting special food treats.

Much as the home is important, it is highly unsafe for a woman not to have some form of career path.
