yeah...always good to get advice directly from the bodies in charge!... Doyenrey: Yes bro. I saw that too but there's nothing I can do about it, the officer at VFS said I can't renew it yet, so I should submit that |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Agbons101: 12:21pm On Sep 20, 2018 |
lol..i can imagine how you feel....this VFS people can make you think in all directions and you may even develop high bp....calm down though...if u read the letter very well u will see a "decision has been made"... dont think they need a passport to stamp a refusal which is not any of us here portion..start preparing..congratulations! Diijah: I applied for a study visa in May and I got a request to submit my passport to VFS. Does that mean I’m getting the visa? I’m a little nervous cause I don’t know if they can request for my passport to put a refusal stamp. |

yeah... galala123: I believe there are exceptions to the rule. For example, if your program of study is 2 years, and your passport validity is 1.5 years, you cannot ordinarily renew your passport unless it is remaining 6 months or less to expire. Under such circumstances, I think I have heard that they may give you 1.5 years visa per the validity of your passport. If your passport validity is less than 6 months, the rule as stated by you may be applied since you can renew your passport and save everyone stress in the near future.
For USA visit visa, the visa validity can go beyond the passport validity. Upon expiry, you can travel with the old expired passport with valid visa as well as the renewed passport. |

Doyenrey: Lol for real?
But you know you have to have a validity of 6 months or less to be able to renew your passport? |

i made enquiry about this from the embassy today and i was told they wont stamp your passport if ur passport expiring date doesnt cover the trv expiring date... Doyenrey: Approval!!!
After I deferred my admission to Sept. 2019 though.
Thank God oo!!!
What should I do now I'm confused
Mehn! God is great. Sent up to 15 CSEs to correct the errors in my application.
Can I renew my passport before submitting? |

galala123: Do you know why it took so long to update your medical report? Or you took your time before going to the hospital (Like monitoring BP levels and eating a lot of bitter leaf till your personal doctor gave you go ahead to proceed for medicals). You know, they give you High BP before sending you for medical exam. i was busy and the only available appointment was for sept 6th, so i did it that day. it was wen i checked few days later i saw "you have passed your medical exam".... |
